Yesterday I flew on TRS776 from LAS to ATL.When we were taxiing out for departure in LAS I noticed that whenever the pilot's gave the engines some thrust the noise of the packs would get a lot louder due to the increased pressure in the bleed ducts. Is this accurately modeled in the NGX? AND will the sound of the packs change with how much throttle is applied?

Guys,I don't know if this has been mentioned before, if it has I really apologise. While watching Nicks walkaround video I noticed that the 'Union Jack' flag on the starboard side of the NGX's fuselage is wrong.Has this been corrected in the latest version? I hope that it has, because if it hasn't it will stick out like a sore thumb every time I use the outside camera.Onwards & Upwards!!Jim Tierney

Hey PMDG DEVs, I must say the product looks amazing by the public video(s) & screen shots that were released. It seems you went into every little details try and match it to the real thing. However under all those threads,Updates,Videos, etc , No one really payed attention or addresses the Sound of the PMDG 737NGX.it is kind of Oblivious on how is the NGX addressed the Sound of the Aircraft.how much details was put into matching it to the real thing as was done on visuals.now when I say sound, I mean Engines, flaps, gear, touch down, roll, etc. Everything (I am less interested to know about the Switch Click sounds as it's been covered already).like for example , 1. is the…

Good morning/evening guys. I found a great website with a A LOT of information provided by an active 737 pilot it is for the -300/400 series but can still be useful and interesting for some. I am not sure the policy of posting links, so I will wait for a go/no go from a PMDG member other than that PM me and I can send you it! Enjoy!- Frank V

I'm sorry if this is a repeated topic, i didn't find any about the 737 NG "engine out" performance. Is it easy to take off a 737 NG with one engine out and at max weight? I imagine this is not something easy to simulate in the FSX.Thanks,Teo Halfen

If not i hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers Jeffrey

No, no pictures. Sorry. Just a story.Flew from KLAS to KSAN this afternoon. We started from the executive terminal, sitting with the forward passenger door open for some time while I set up the FMC. We had ground power, ground air, and a ground air conditioning unit hooked up, but the door open on a scorching day in Las Vegas made it just plain hot in the forward part of the aircraft. We don't usually think of stuff like that in the sim.It took about ten or twelve minutes to taxi all the way across the field to the departure end of runway 28R, and with the engines running at barely above idle, the hot cabin only got hotter. Sure enough, climbing out, I got a master …

I'm very sure that PMDG have covered everything in regards to water spray, reverse spray etc. Even down to the reflective nav lights on the ground which is awesome,, I would like to know if they have managed to apply some wing condensation to the wings during takeoff's & descent in very damp weather.Thank Steve

Hi guys, simple question about the reverse thrust.I have just read through a very detailed post about stopping distances and the autobrakes setting within the NG, and I understand the principle. However, in real life, when does full reverse get used in normal ops? [excl. short field landings].I have been told by real world pilots than when landing, the pilot will bring the reverses to idle reverse to save the life on the engine. How correct is this statement and is idle reverse what normally happens in the real world?Cheers :)

The NGX will be a huge leap for mankind and although I will continue to fly my 747,MD11 and J41 and probably also a few others from choice developers, many of my airplane addons are heading for the boneyard.Below is a picture of my retired airplane addons, that will be a direct result of my NGX purchase :( :

Hey Gang,I wanted to share some imagery with you from another beta flight this afternoon. Now, one thing that I find to be a really silly comment is when someone tells you that glass cockpit simming (or real glass flying) is all push button, no skill required. My response used to be that the glass cockpit aircraft still have exactly the same systems as the old school analogues and require just as much piloting skill, with the only difference being the presentation of data to the pilots of those systems. Well, I need to revise that response as with new tools now available the glass cockpit aircraft has tools that the old schoolers can only dream about! These new tools requ…

I think I understand that de-rates are used to reduce the power of the engines on takeoff/during climb to reduce the strain placed on them when full power is not needed.I wasn't aware bump was available on smaller planes but watching the recent AOA video it seems otherwise. Am I right in thinking that, in simple terms, bump simply gives a bit more power if needed? Are there any real world examples people can think of where you would use bump? Are there any limitations on it's use?ThanksNick

Hi all, just curious as to why the needle on the round dial/AOA is at an angle sloping down when at 0.0 eg. when it is parked on the ground.I have the manuals and have read and understand the scale/markers etc. Why wouldnt it be displayed as level/horizontal to indicate 'current' angle which is straight?I hope this makes sense, and someone can give me the reason if there is one. Obviously Boeing have designed it this way for a reason. Thanks in advance, and look forward to an answer or explanation,Cheers

Hi,Does the 737 require a modification to fly steep approaches, or is it simply not certified? I'm thinking approaches such as London City with 5.5 degree glide slope (though I don't think it can get in there as the runway is not long enough).Best regards,Robin.

I love detail, I do! The depth of PMDG's 737NGX is great. But I don't have a type rating and I'm lucky to get in the virtual air once a week. I want to read a 5 page quick start guide or watch a 10 minute tutorial, launch, and go... not spend the years PMDG has suggested would be required to master the plane. Is there any hope for me to get off the ground in the 737NGX?

Hi All,I'm getting my system optimized for NG. HD defrag, OS optimization, etc.I'd like to get the best NAVAID data available for the NG for enroute and ALL IFR approaches for US (including Alaska and HI), and also Europe later, for the FMC.I usually get NAV DATA out of date for other PMDG products. Will I need to buy nav data from http://www.navdata.at/index.php to get current and if so what NAV data should I buy? It's been many years since I've bought nav data, and NAVDATA has serveral products out. Should I get AIRCYCLES ?I'm going to get recently exprired JEPPESSEN IFR express packs for the approaches. I just want them to match up correctly with FSX nav data. Thanks i…

Captains-This is going to be a short note tonight, as we are all a bit busy at the moment...I thought you all would be interested to know that the PMDG 737NGX has entered the final phase of pre-release testing.Last night we began the process of distributing build 82.2732 (yes: 82 major builds and 2732 updates...) to both the Tech Team and the Wide Beta Team. This will be the first of a few updates that we give them, with the intent that we should have the last of the kinks ironed out in very short order, allowing us to move into the release phase- which is what we know you are all waiting for!Over the next couple of days, we are going to take some of the restrictions off…

Last night I downloaded the hour long AOA cockpit video and watched it this morning. Truely incredible job done inside this a/c and when watching the video made me realise that its even better than what I thought it would be. When the fellow was going thru the FMC menu for the a/c options I noticed the area where you can put your key assignment to control various items, however I wasn't sure if the key assignment menu will also work for assigning joystick or yoke buttons. I know that in the 747 some of the buttons you assign to your joystick in the FSX menu will also control some of the stuff in the 747, but not everything and the use of FSUIPC or Linda is required. So wh…
