I see Boeing 737s in magazines and on Airliner.net and many times they have different designators at the end of the type, like 737-883, 737-8Q8 or 737-8JP.I was wondering what these mean and if there is somewhere that shows what all of these are for the 737?

Hi, I'm hoping a beta tester/PMDG can answer this. How good is the saved panel state in the NGX?In past PMDG products, the panel saving feature is very well done, but sometimes a switch may be out of place (i.e. lighting), or if winds are input into the FMC waypoints/descent page they are not saved. I love to save certain phases of flight, most notably pre takeoff at the runway holding point, or on the arrival to landing, to practice takeoffs and landings respectively. And I use FSUIPC to save the flight at a specific interval (about every 5 minutes) in the event FSX crashes so I can resume where I left off. I know the NGX is going to have a very full featured save p…

I have not been using flight sim for a good couple of years now but have kept tabs on the development in payware aircraft, and along with most of you guys i have been very impressed at the in depth 737NGX preview videos Nick Collett's AoA has been producing. To the extent that I am considering in investing in a new computer just to be able to start flying again, this time as a virtual cockpit pilot in the PMDG 737NGXI also was planning on purchasing the final AoA's 737NGX training video series and was wondering/hoping that the final version would be with Nick Collett's narration.

I am deaf .. is there any chance the AoA videos can be captioned? After seeing the great work done on their NGX videos, I would consider buying.

Greetings,I remember this being brought up before and talked about being implemented however I also remember that there were a fair number of problems associated with making the aircraft "multicrew capable." So any word on whether or not it worked out and will make it into the final build?-Matt Barton

After a few flights in the NGX i have a major one planned It's a flight from Washington, DC -> Brasilia (fuel stop) -> Ross Island, Antarctica (KDCA -> SBBR (for fuel) -> NZWD)This is all based on the assumption that PMDG will include the -700ER in their packageBased on information on Boeing's website, I know that i can make it from DC to Brasil, it's the second sector that i'm worried about.Payload will be extremely lowWhat do you guys think?

I would like to use the 737 from day one beginning in a cold and dark state. I know Ryan said that he will not have the tutorial done. Is there any way you all can at least make a flow sheet or checklist to start off from this state on release day? The whys and what's can maybe wait until tutorial 2 comes out later?

I know that this might be putting the cart before the horse, but I was just wondering since Boeing as all but confirmed a new engine option to compete with the A320NEO. Has the PMDG 737NGX been designed to easly upgrade / or modify the engine types if Boeing does move ahead with the new engine options?Either way, thank you for continuing to make amazing aircraft!Just curious,

  11. Hello,This might be a pretty weird question but I need to ask it before I buy the NGX.I have placed an order on a better computer than the one I'm using right now but it will arrive to me in the end of August. I want to start reading the manual before I get my computer to be well prepared when I'll make my first flight. I don't want to install NGX on this computer but I want to use the manual. Is it possible to dowload the manual from somewhere if I've purchased the NGX?Regards,Erik LingeSweden

I could wait a couple of weeks to find out, but what's the fun in that :DI was watching a video recently posted here in these forums which showed a MD-11 landing in a sim where the HUGS changed modes to display the rwy overlay (i hope that's what it is called). For the NGX, I believe this functionality is there or will be there eventually. Where does this data come from? FSX Scenery or stored data from your navdata (I didn't see rwy data any where in the AIRAC files, but I could be wrong)Since each one will be using different scenery packages, the rwy placement, even though arguably should be same, is quiet unlikely. And stuff like landclasses, terrain mods, FSG UTX etc s…

  15. Just thinking now the release of the NGX is so close, could it be that PMDG also make the NGX for flight as that might not be far away?Anyway, looking at the pictures and videos, it just amazes me at how acurate and detailed the 737 is; there's no other addon like it!!

I was thinking that perhaps we should have a FAQ so users stop asking the same questions.1. What is WL? Winglets2. Will the NGX run on fs2004?No3. Any plans for fs2004?No4. What system specs will I need to run the NGX?If you can run the MD11/JS41 you should be fine5. What liveries? PMDG 737NGX Livery Availability6. When will it be released?"Soon" defined....7. How Much?PMDG 737NGX Pricing and Availability8. Shared cockpit? Not in the initial release. Perhaps in a future service pack9. Will there be a boxed verson, if so, when?Yes, will be by Aerosoft, however not until a few months after release.

Hi Folks,We just put another video up. I wanted to take a bit more of an academic angle this time and show some of the in-depth simulation that really blew me away. I talk a little about the DEUs, power behind the EFIS control panels and IRS source switching. Sounds pretty boring but it'll amaze you what this thing can do!The simulation performed exactly per the maintenance manual - it really is groundbreaking. Again, this video is unscripted and with had no pre-planning, so if any mistakes creep in here and there I apologise! It's not structured and doesn't reflect the final standard of our training product. It was intended simply to try to give you an insight to how imp…

Avsim has and continues to be a friendly gathering place for flightsim enthusiasts World wide. Many years ago a number of us, who frequented these forums with a avid zeal of aviation simulation, participated in various technical debates, creation of mods and shared knowledge of various aircraft mechanics. It was a time of great ideas - of what 'could' be. Of course a few developers had already made a dramatic impact on the community and had garnered their own a really excited user. One of the lessor known developers was Precision Manuals Development Group. Back in 2002 I found myself intrigued by this company's philosophy. They had created some impressive Fly! Boeing 757-…

So now that we know the details with the release, what will be included with the download? Manuals? Load manager? Etc Etc.Will the -700 be just as detailed and perfected as the -800? (in other words it wont be a lot less simulated like the old package was)Great work guys!

Have you guys compared FPS against iFly? If so, how'd they compare? For me it's a real FPS eater while I can pull 20FPS in KLAS with PMDG MD11, the iFly is only giving me between 10-13 FPS.Thanks,Joe Inama
