Sorry if this already has been asked, but I was wondering about this for some time and can't seem to find it with the search funtion. Is it possible to use the lower DU as a 'camera'? When i jumpseated in the 737NG last time the captain showed me in flight some of the function and also the camera in the galley. It would be nice to just have a static picture of the galley, (like in the A320 from Aerosoft), however not necessary of course.. As example..Thanks.

...so here's something to help pass the time. I just snapped this one a few moments ago on a "late" test flight enroute to TPA in the 737-800.

Heres a thought, Do I need to keep a aircraft journey log due to the realistic application of service life on specific parts for each specific aircraft? I intend to do "proper" maintance to my entire NG fleet, but how do I know what the service life of each part is? Are we told in anyway either via the aircraft itself how many hours and cycles have been accumulated and what needs to be taken care of at certain times though any documentation? Thoughts?

Is there going to be a WXR in the NGX? Just kidding guys. Now seriously: I'm curious about the problems in simulating the WXR. What makes it so hard/inaccurate/FPS carnivor? Not talking about integrating with another existing softwere, because it glides to business questions about the two companies relations. As someone who has no clue at all in programming, simulating, SDK's etc. Just honest questions that on my side are based on my logic and be glad to get the programmers angle and how it's inpractical in the NGX: 1. FSX's weather forecast maps: The FSX itself has its weather maps, that we can see, even edit, and from there it's translated to the visuals and dynamics th…

Hallo, Since the soon to be released PMDG Boeing 737 NG (X) will have failures by airplane and differed items sometimes you may be in the case where you find a malfunctioning or INOP item during preflight and you have to decide whether you can fly with it or need to fix it before flight. Besides the natural captain's choice there is a state published Minimum Equipment List (MEL) with items that you may fly with INOP until the next schedule maintenance or so. With some malfunctioning items you have some restrictions while with others you can fly without a care in the world. This list for the USA can be found here: http://fsims.faa.gov...on&doctype=MMEL I do not know if…

According to PMDG last November this is what they had to say back then about NGX: "UPDATED 29NOV10PMDG has a long standing tradition prohibiting us from providing release dates in advance. We do this in order to prevent "schedule pressure" from influencing our decisions related to product readiness for market.Right now, (as of 29NOV10) we can only say that the PMDG 737NGX will release "soon." Our previous guidance had been that we anticipated the release taking place during 2010, but as we transition from internal to external testing, we cannot consider any artificial deadlines imposed by the calendar, as these may negatively impact final product quality. Our goal is to pr…

While the question always comes up about computer specs, FPS, and will the NGX run on my machine etc. We all can be proactive and make sure we are running FSX to the best of out computers ability no matter what the setup while we wait for the NGX. PMDG has an nvidia setup thread in the general forum which talks in depth about the interaction between the FSX settings and the video card settings. Look on the internet because there is a wealth of information out there which will make a difference how FSX will run. I use nhancer and made big changes with the FPS. I almost exclusively fly the MD-11 and active sky evolution with a constant 30 FPS with the sliders mid way. My s…
