Hi everybody,I guess this question would be for Ryan given that he seems to be one of the main developers. I'm building a home cockpit for the 737ng: right now it based on the default 737 from Microsoft. Now even if it's based on the the default aircraft i tried some add-ons from other companies and I saw the various add-ons had different degrees of compatibility with default systems. To explain what I mean some examples: an A321 (hadn't decided yet to build a 737 dedicated cockpit) had the lighting system fully compatible with default FSX commands while another one could just turn all the lights on and off by pressing L key not responding to the single lights keys (or sw…

Hey guys,First off, what an awesome aircraft crossing the finish I can't wait for this tube! As long as it has wheels and engines................Second thing is.......I was talking to a friend from the US today and I showed him the cockpit video of the NGX, like a lot of other people he personaly likes the 737 in particular. He doesn't have any other PMDG and the only thing that was putting him off buying it was the FPS. Here's he's specs: Quad Core 2 Q66 2.4GHZ Nvidia 9800GT 1GB Dedicated Memory 3GB RAM Win 7 64Bit. The only thing he's running in FSX is UTX USA and Canada and he'd just like to now how his computer would peforme with NGX at the default US airports. If some…

Since we're just waiting, I thought you might like this story. The recent cancellation of the Avsim Fancon and the upcoming release of the NGX reminded me of a very fortunate run-in I had with the PMDG team several years ago at the last Avsim event in Seattle. Like many of you I have been enjoying flightsim since the Sublogic days. At first my wife didn't mind my addiction but over time time she became more and more concerned. With the ever increasing need for more quality payware and the need to upgrade my computer system every other year, this "hobby" was getting to be fairly expensive. My wife almost flipped out when I told her I wanted to go to the Avsim event i…

Whilst surfing around pprune I came across this thread about a commercial outfit called Flight Experience using custom cockpits coupled with the old PMDG NG for FS9. Apart from the usual remarks about Flight sims and poor working conditions I found these comments:http://www.pprune.org/dg-p-general-aviation-questions/458069-what-laugh-flight-experience.html Just curious, has PMDG considered designing the flight dynamics for the NGX with potential airline applicants in mind by providing an accurate simulation of a real airline simulator checkride/accessment experience? e.g. Better simulations of steep turns and other hand-flown maneuvers that occurs during a checkride. …

Being a long time fan of all the PMDG Addon Aircraft, I am very excited at the upcoming release of the 737NGXand have been watching all the available Videos, photos & forums etc regarding this soon to become availableproduct. But i have a question that i don't think has been asked so far here and that is the new HUD system included with the aircraft.I think i pretty much understand most of the readings that are displayed ie. speed tapes, compass reading etc, but what's with that littlecircle with 2 little horizontal lines that boobs about inside the square. Check out PMDG's 737 NGX Preview - Day VFR 25knot Crosswind Short Field Landing Package at KCLMor PMDG 737 NG…

This may not be relevant to the many who have already made up their minds about buying the NGX,but for the few, like me, who are still on edge about buying it, I have this question to ask. What are the differences between the PMDG NGX and the SimSoft iFly 737NG Series for FSX?The reason I'm asking this is because I had purchased the iFly 737NG for FS9 long ago and got a large discount on theupdate for the product to adapt to FSX. I am not trying to be rude here but I would like to see a list of differences between the two before I go out and spend $60+ on an aircraft that could be potentially the same package... again no insults what so ever here, trying to ask an honest…

I usually avoid posting pictures, choosing to paint them with words. This time however, something so insignificant, has left me speechless. I was mucking about Manchester, trying to break the jet and happened to look over my left shoulder- this is what I saw. There is something hugely trivial, yet enormously magnificent about this picture. For the first time ever in my sim experience, I KNEW, beyond a shadow of a doubt what a 738 captain sees, hears and feels while flying low and slow over the countryside. The heating elements themselves are a joy to behold. You can feel their thinness, you know they are sandwiched between plates of laminated glass, you can almost v…

Hi I'm looking into purchasing manuals for the NGX however i have a concern over the price of the recommended delivery method (FedEx $117-$127). Obviously I want the Captain's or Chief's set but they would be outside my budget at those delivery prices which would probably restrict me to the FCTM/QRH. So my question is... are there any Europeans out there who have bought manuals using the cheaper (USPS) method and had them delivered with or without issue? I've been around this here forum a long time but this is my first post so be gentleAny advice is appreciated as it is quiet a lot of money but worth it in my opinionThanks very muchMartin Woulfe

Hi,This question is mainly aimed at Ryan or the wide beta testers, and apologies in advance if it has already been answered elsewhere - was just wondering what FSX realism settings and axis sensitivities you chaps have been using with the NGX when testing the handling characteristics? Seem to remember from previous aircraft that FSX's definition of 'realistic' handling can be anything but. :smile:Many thanks

Just wanted to let you guys who were begging for this feature know that it made it in before release - you can pick any panel state as default and it'll load it at startup with the plane now. C&D, short turn (aircraft powered but engines off) or whatever you want and it'll load that each time. You'll be able to pick the plane from free flight at whatever airport/gate you want and it'll load up that way.

One of the things I enjoy most about flying the NGX is the takeoff run, which is full of little details that increase the immersion. Now, it's been a while since I've routinely flown a Boeing-style add-on, but I'm used to the Flight Director guidance bars becoming visible immediately after I select the FD switch to ON. Sometimes, selecting one FD switch also flips the other, as though they're ganged together somehow behind the MCP front panel. Not so on the NGX. You have to select both yourself...because you can't select TO/GA unless both Flight Directors are on.But let's back up a minute. Here's what the PFD looks like when you select the FD switches on the ramp.Where…

Whilst we all eagerly await the release of the wonderful new NGX (thanks Beta testers for the updates - really appreciated) have a look at the NG section at Smart Cockpit (www.smartcockpit.com). Some very good and highly informative articles of the systems of the NG and useful reading before the official manuals are released.Richard Foreman

Hello flight simmers!I do not know if this question was asked before. If yes, please apologize. When an aircraft touches down on the runway in FSX the nose wheel touchdown is not as accurate as in a real scenario. What do I mean? If the main gear touches down, the bird is nearly strinking hard down on the ground with the nose gear. You have also not really a chance to prevent this fully by using the pitch elevator. So, I would like to know if this negative effect was considered in the NGX and was hence developed accurately? Is this an FSX issue? Or am I a worse pilot? :(

Morning All,Now, I am not going to go into all the airline configuration options of this amazing NGX for two reasons. Firstly, I am not going to steal RSR's thunder and secondly, there are just way too many customisations for me to list in a simple posting (really!)What I did want to share, though, is that the test crew have been having immense fun braking the aircraft. In most sims, you step on the toe brakes, your aircraft stops, end of story. Things are very different on the NGX. How many of you have actually considered what types of brake pads the airline fits to the aircraft. Well, in the NGX go right ahead and install steel or carbon brakes. Yes, you have the choice…

I will be flying on a next generation this morning a -700. Is there stuff I should look for so we can compare to the NGX? I won't have time to ask the pilots questions due to me having to catch a bus 9 mins after flight arrives. Thanks. Ps the flight is at 6:15 AM.

I was wondering whether PMDG will decide to include the newly released Virgin Australia paint schemes (that will be replacing the older virgin blue ones) in their livery collection.
