  3. I discovered that VORs don't work when on an Aerocache hunt. I haven't tried to repro the event yet, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this.I assume that this was done to avoid having people advise each other of a radial and distance to reach an aerocache, but then I could just use free flight to get to that point, so this may be a bug and not a "feature".

Easy question. Trust me when I say the dev's are reading this, so let them know! What aircraft do YOU want to see in Flight? For now, lets stick to the known target, small GA's. Once we get more destinations and ATC, then you can start requesting big iron. As I said to someone in the beta who requested an A-360, "What do you want to do with that in Hawaii? Take the entire population for a tour?"I personally would LOVE to see a Seabee. I know I know, "Its because you did one!" but I really fell in love with this bird!!! I think Hawaii is a perfect place for it! Tons of water, lots to see with its great visibility, plus its got room for 4 and is rugged as heck. Gr…

I get it, many people now love Flight and think it's the second coming of Flight Simulation. What I don't understand is the aggressive attitude towards third parties or those of us that only support FSX. Mathjis (sp?) from Aerosoft made a post, and you had guys essentially "attacking" his position and some guy even going so far as to say he will never buy a product from a third party vendor or fly FSX ever again.Another guy posted a review from Flying magazine online and the author was discounted as a hack. Why? Because he didn't spend 20 hours playing it or because he isn't as enlightened as the Flight supporters? He would have been discounted just as easily if he did…

Not the good folks on the forum, but those darned passengers I take on as charter jobs. So far, I have only 15 happy passengers, and I guess I sickened another 19 and frightened 4 more! Well, you'd think, whether sick or scared, they'd be really grateful to be back on terra firma. I have personally killed myself more times than I've landed happy passengers--that in itself should make them happy. Anyway, my post last week said I was humbled by a bird, and this week am humbled by those virtual people. Is there anyone out there with a "happier clientel?" My percent happy is 43%. (I have to admit, I think I know how I got some sick, was about 6 nm out from a short de…

anybody take the stearmen up for a spin and dive the hell out of it and then see how bad they model inertia of the plane? This is with the engine off or at idle. If you dive the thing and get airspeed and then try to pull the nose up it doesnt feel like it should with that much speed. Maybe Im wrong....just an armchair pilot and never flew a real biplane.

  8. Hi all,I have started an online image gallery where I will be posting desktop wallpapers made from screenshots taken in FLIGHT over time. Most of the time, they will have small color edits or tweaks. All shots will be taken at 1920x1080 resolution to ensure that they fit on almost any monitor without stretching.http://www.eagleroto...apers/index.phpEnjoy!

I was flying the RV6 upside down yesterday to increase my upside down stat. I went ahead and got real low to the water to where the tip of the tail was a foot or two from making contact. I noticed that my plane did not reflect off of the water, I could only see a shadow. I just want to make sure this is how it is supposed to be. I know FSX had water that would reflect the plane. Seems strange that with the graphical update to Flight this would not be included. On a side note I also found out that skimming the tail across the water does not work real well. I know its probably not supposed to but the instant the tip of the tail hit the water it had the same effect as hit…

  10. Right so i need some advice on how to get at least silver on this landing challenge... All ive managed up until now is bronze. And it is the side skid im having trouble with. How do you land the RV, with relatively strong sidewind, without the side skid? Ive been trying to go in fast to compensate but it doesnt help. trying to line up to the side of the runway and letting the wind blow me in as i touch down doesnt help. Do i need to land in the wind direction? Then how are you supposed to land on the center of the runway? :S I need some advice.

I thought it would add an interesting if the MS Flight team added a fuel log function for some added competition. A log that would show where you fueled up, and distance traveled. So lets say we take off from PHTO and do a flight plan that is 200nm stopping at various airports. Whoever used the least fuel (while keeping up with the pack) wins! So people could take a screenshot of the fuel log after the flight to show that they didn't fuel up anywhere, and their distance traveled (that would match the flight plan) after that fuel up.sorry, didn't mean to double post the topic, I used my back button to edit, then it double posted it.

  14. HiAnyone else familiar with this problem?I think I've tried everything; re-install of Flight, GFWL etc, with or without AV enabled, clean start up of Windows and so on.I've intermittently got Flight to work, lastly I've actually flown quite a few missions, but now suddenly this message is back...Any ideas?

Just got done a really long MP session with DirtyCajun and some new random guy HippoPotatoMess (nice guys btw). Set the weather to isolated thunderstorms and set out from HNL with a heading to PHUP.. Well we ran smack dab into one of of those isolated pockets. Definitely a convergence zone. WOW.. I have never felt such convincing wind shift variants.. I was sitting there watching the nose of my aircraft get knocked around like a boxer being paid to take a dive... *woof* nose does violent right yaw, 2 seconds later *wooof* huge left yaw.. Then out of no where *woof* my nose gets shoved down HARD. I was in full deflection for a full 2 seconds trying to counter it with litt…

  17. Hi, first time posting after lurking for a couple of weeks.I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. So I'm flying along about halfway back to Hilo on the looong photo shoot mission when I began looking for an airport to refuel at. I was over an island south of Maui and noticed an airstrip so I thought that would be a good place to refuel. As I make my descent Flight locks up and crashes because I pushed the button on the joystick for trim. I was more than a little peeved because I like doing the missions without skipping for maximum XP and because I like it to feel more 'real' and I was almost done with this one after spending hours flying between the islands.I …

This is my first post here, hope I'm in the right place. Can someone please let me know how to play the new MS Flight offline - assuming you can? When I downloaded and installed the game I could play offline OK and fly the first basic plane.I then 'signed up' to get my hands on the free yellow Bi-Plane, and from that point on I always seem to have to log in before I can play.Should I need to log in to 'live' or should I still be able top play offline?I guess I'm missing something as I thought I read somewhere that Flight can be played offline (with certain limitations) but I cant make it.I've started the game, pressed any key and up pops my user account where I can either c…

I opened this post to a serious discussion of the upcoming DLCs not that you can get Microsoft in the coming months, but on the community DLCs but would like to see in flight and what course of action would you take flight in the future.More than likely that a thing is what the community wants simulation and ways to take Microsoft on the matter. But I think we can put our points in common to put on the table serious ideas of hope from it.

  22. Just some stuff i have been thinking about. The Maule seems to be very affected by propeller rotation. In level flight, to maintain a somewhat steady heading I have been using the fuel transfer system to balance the plane. Is this what you would do in real life with such an aircraft? or have i missed something important here? The RV-6A has a digital gauge that has three digits in it. Theres a switch on it but you cant click it. From what i can tell it is a temperature indicator but for what? There already is a temperature indicator for the engine oil.. Hmm cant think of anything else at the moment.

Hi everyone.Looking into Flights installation directory the scenery is still in *.bgl files (same as in FSX)Does anyone tried to open it?I bet it will take centuries to wait until the area that interests me (and others) will be built. Before the game release I thought Microsoft will use internet community to build the game (even if it all has to go through their on-line shop). :sad:Looking forward to see a 3rd party level editor.

On the Icon A5 info sheet, it says the ceiling of the aircraft is at 15,000 ft. One of the Aerocaches was up at the Observatory, so I thought I'd just keep flying the Icon and try and get it. It took a LONG time, but I eventually got up to around 12,000 ft or so, and had to descend a little to get the cache. But I made it!So then I though, since I spent all this time getting up here, lets see just how high I can go. Now this journey began before the sun had set, got some nice screenshots. But by the time I reached my max height, the stars were out. I successfully flew at 581 ft beyond the ceiling. At this point it was fairly difficult to maintain anything above 49 …

Before a paint scheme is unlocked, there is a handy little description on what you need to accomplish to get it. After it becomes available, the requirement for it disappears.I think it would be neat if after a paint scheme becomes unlocked, the requirement remains so I remember what I did to get it. Some I know and remember because I attempted to do specific things for it. And maybe a date of when it was unlocked, such as the aerocaches, and other awards. Just for statistical purposes.CheersDarryl
