The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum

As everyone else that is posting in this forum, I am enjoying flying in the new world of Flight. Likewise I check AVSIM forum and https://news.microsoftflight.com/blogs/news/ for the updates to Flight. This program has brought a level of excitement that I am throughly happy with. I am waiting like everyone for more downloadable content.My question is this... How long does it take to develop a working aircraft model that we can have implemented in Flight?We have beat to death the question of what kinds of scenery and aircraft should be implemented, but just how long does it take to release a single aircraft to the game (with cockpit). I will hang up and listen now. :)

I keep getting stuck in the fly by view. Until Microsoft fixes this bug, is there a file that can be changed to remedy this?

Doh!I have been trying to play Flight for the past 3 hours and cannot get past the 'Loading' screen.After 5 minutes or so I give up and use Task Manager to close the thing down. Task Manager says Flight is not responding.Then I try again, same result.My guess is that it must be a problem with Windows Live but, who knows.Hopefully, this is a one off and tomorrow all will be well.What a waste of time.

Have you noticed issues with weight when performing cargo or passenger jobs? There are times where the plane is overloaded in the red even if I reduce fuel. A few times it has caused me to crash upon takeoff - the plane was completely unstable. The weight numbers for jobs don't seem accurate sometimes.Is this a bug or a sim feature?

I wonder if it is possible to pickup passengers or/and cargo in Free Flight. Or is it only possible in the Missions?For instance I haven't discover a mission in which I could/should transport cargo? I have done the PhotoMissions, in which passengers were included.thanks for any reply.

Hey gang,So earlier today I selected a job, at a specific airport on the big island.It was carrying a few hundred pounds of cargo of some sort. I guessed at my fuel load for the Maule, around 65% or so. Total wild butt guess on my part. I think the distance of this job was around 160nm or so.Ok so I click the start mission button, and there I am in the cockpit ready to go. Now the feller that was in there, well he commented just crunching the numbers regarding weight, I was too heavy to take off from that runway - need to dump some fuel.Ok - hmm, so how do I dump the fuel? Only way I could tell was to escape out of the mission, go to my fuel setting for the Maule, and de…

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and hope to be apart of it for a long time, because I love flight simulators and play Microsoft Flight. I wanted to know what everyone's perspective is on Microsoft Flight I have downloaded and bought the game and find it to be very satisfying as far as flying is concerned. I do hope they put out other planes in the game and other regions or I won't be playing the game long. Hawaii is fun and interesting and won't be done with Hawaii for awhile, but when I'm done with Hawaii it's going to become small after awhile. Landed near the top of the big island. Hit E.As i stood beside my shiny, red Icon, I thought to myself...I wonder what happens if I hit the throttleSure enough, the plane rolled away with me running after. I could see it flopping around in the distance, but eventually it got itself oriented and flew off down the mountain.

Going from Hilo to Bradshaw at night, the passenger said he was running out of ink from making notes about my lack of ethics in flying. Then he told me to climb to a higher altitude.Shortly after, I stalled. And crashed. Maybe he was right.

I saved a flight at Ford Isl. the other day, then several hours later I selected it for a spin around Pearl Harbor. Completed the check list and just as I started to taxi a high wing (perhaps a 172/182) AI on climb out flew right by me. I tried to give chase but he was long gone before I got in the air. That's a sure sign of things to come. I hope.Roy

Looked for answer...didn't see one. How do you get a "Happy Passenger"?I flew two "$100 Hamburger" flights. Passenger was talkative and seemed happy whole flight. Parked aircraft and shut down. Passenger never complained. But when the "score" comes up it shows 500 possible points for a Happy Passenger, but I always get "0" points. Back in my Pilot Record it doesn't show any frightened or barfing passengers.Does she have to eat the darn 'burger or something? She did everything except ask me out for a date. ;-)

I just completed a job, hauling chickens, from Hilo to Kahului. I am pleased to say, all chickens arrived with all feathers intact.Shortly after takeoff, there I was faced with around 120km to go, and thought hmm I know what I can do - a little monitoring for the first time. I have not seen too much data on performance here, so thought I would share for those that get into this sort of thing.First, my system specs are in my sig. I am using TrackIR Mouse Emulation to control the view. It works, but the view seems jumpy or jerky, not smooth at all. I did uncheck "enhance mouse precision" (or something like that) in the Windows Control Panel. Didn't help. Does anyone using TrackIR have this issue? My system is i5-2500K/560Ti. I have 8G memory, but only Windows XP. Thanks.

Hey gang,I have been preaching in here , since I downloaded and installed Flight, that we need to keep letting the Flight team know, of our strong desire to have Track IR support included in Flight. I myself have as of this afternoon, emailed the Flight team on 3 occasions regarding Track IR, and some other minor things. To me, and about any Track IR user, support for it is as essential as having support for our joystick. After all, they did not just give us a game with mouse/keyboard control only, they gave us one that included joystick and rudder pedal support. Taking away the ability to use Track IR in a flight sim to a Track IR user, would equate to taking away joysti…

Now that Flight has been out for a bit of time, many reviews and interviews with Joshua Howard have been publicized. From Joshua's persective, he wants Flight to appeal to anyone and everyone who has a passing interest for the "act" of flight. He wants people to be able to fly, without having to mind the nuances of operating the mechanical aspects of an aircraft-- like programming FMC's, etc. He made using the mouse to fly a prominent feature, and then threw in many "games" like collecting aerocache points. Is there any way to stop Flight expressing units in Metric?My pilot records show heights in meters and distances in kilometers etc.Quite annoying...

Hi guys!I'm new in the forum, i'm posting because I wiped off all my progress in the latest format.I didn't know where the game save the progress and accordling with this post:http://forum.avsim.n...d-in-the-cloud/where some users reports that the progress is saved in the cloud, I wiped the disk, hoping my progress were be saved in the marketplace cloud profile. Without an %appdata% backup.Very bad idea.I formated, reinstalled Fsx and Flight, HawaiiPack, planes etc...Flight, at first connection to Live, downloads my profile, but the game starts with the first flight lessons.
