Yesterday I started the day by replying to a thread where, at some point, innacuracies in the xplane10 prop model (CS or variable pitch) was discussed, and I pointed out that if xplane doesn't model the fact that, on a CS Prop, if flying, say, at cruise, 75% throttle (so not full MP ), and you pull the Prop lever back, MP should rise. If you push the Prop lever, MP should, instead, lower.Correct operation is allways: Prop 1st, Throttle 2nd when increasing, Throttle 1st Pro 2nd when decreasing... to avoid engine overstress/damage...I wasn't near my FLIGHT computer, and I do not have xplane installed, but today I was able to test it jsut to find that, FLIGHT is also wrong i…

IMO, it seems like the makers of Flight tried parts of what makes MMOs succesful. It's quite clear it is not the same as MMO game design but has the elements included.So,excluding the simulator aspect of Flight, I'll write this post as a discussion for the game aspect of Flight.The levelling treadmill: One reason people in MMOs keep coming back because of the desire to be max level.In Flight, it seems there is no impetus to be maxed out. Has anyone seen the extreme close up picture just uploaded to the Flight Facebook page hinting what an upcoming aircraft is?My guess is it's a DHC-2 Beaver.

Maule with 24 or 48 degr flap, airspeed approx 60-65 kts.Using power for controlling height and elevator for controlling airspeed like a "pro".BUT:I seem to more or less always end up with the passenger questionamark whentransporting those "The view is great" people. Can't seem to achieve that smoothtouchdown!Does anyone have a tip?What is your vertical speed at touchdown?How much do you rise the nose when flaring?

Hi,I replaced my graphics card since I installed Flight and after replacement had to reset the graphic setting to my preference. I recently noticed in Flight.cfg the reference to my original card was still there and the new reference on the end. I decided to delete Flight.cfg and let a new one be built without the old reference. When I deleted it much of Flight was set to the original. My control settings were gone, my Missions and Challenges shown as not done, and I had to fly around the balloons and go to the wedding party before I could do much else. I had copied Standard.xml so getting my controls back wasn't a problem. But here's the good part: I still had cred…

I believe it is 6 - the one where you have to land on the strip at the top of the observatory - in like 60kt winds.You gotta be kidding me!I just made my first attempt - could not even find the strip before the wind slammed me into the side of the mountain.There for a bit, I was doing nothing but going sideways!

Hey gang,Ok so I have compiled a joystick file for my Cougar, to give me more buttons/options available.Previously, I had mapped the eyepoint movements - left, right, up, down - directly to the stick from within Flight.Now by compiling a joystick file, I am actually assigning these same functions to the appropriete keypress as mapped by Flight, so pressing a button on my hatswitch generates that particular keypress, for moving the eyepoint. That is working fine. Doing it this way btw, gives me more options available on that one hatswitch, so instead of just having 4 buttons available via direct mapping, I now have 8 available due to the toggle switch I have on the stick. …

If you want to compare Microsoft Flight to a different Flight Sim, I'd suggest giving x-plane a try. You can try it free for about 10 min.Currently there are two versions that are popular. Ver. 9.70 that you should be able to pick up very cheap, and Ver. 10.x that has a lot of bugs. (I'd suggest trying ver. 9.70)There are a number of virtual airlines that use x-plane. Downloaded it, gave it a fair go, tried it out. Not impressed.Sorry Microsoft but as a long term MS Flight Simmer this doesn't cut it.I will come back to this 'game' in a couple of years and see if you've really understood the demographics of the flight hungry public.Good luck with it. Somehow I think we all got to calling Flight the wrong thing. Listening to the Kim Komando radio show today, she responded to a caller question about marketing software by remarked that the "in" business model used today by many to maybe even most new software offerings is known in the software industry as "freemium". Said Kim, the business plan is to "Give it away for free, in hopes of selling premium add-on's. Installed:Abacus World Extreme mesh (Plus U.S.A.)Full FSGenesis world mesh.GEXASE (ESE).Ultimate Terrain for U.S.A and Europe.REX.Ultimate Traffic 2.4 ORBX installs for N.West U.S.A.I think that covers about everything.The picture shows the problem. Ok so not too long after Flight came out - I downloaded on March 5th, I seem to enjoy it more and more.I love my FSX with the great addons I have for it - mainly scenery/weather/texture related stuff. I have launched Flight every day since it's release.3 times I have gotten the "corrupted installation" warning followed by Flight closing.All 3 have been fixed by running a Windows update, which I have set to manual.Today I launch Flight and get a warning the "your processor does not meet the minimum requirements for Flight".I am running an i3-2100 @ 3.1 GHz which exceeds the recommended "CPU: Dual Core 3.0 GHz" let alone the minimum.Anybody else seen this or have any ideas?regards,Joe

I have noticed that on many occasions while in a multiplayer session, I can hear some people speaking and they can't hear me (broadcasting over the "All" channel and not a specific frequency).Other times they have reported not being to see the text messages I am typing in game.It is very odd because nothing changes in my configuration between sessions and it switches between working and not working seemingly at random.Has anyone else seen these issues?I have tested by microphone to be working (and getting good clear playback) using the Windows Live! tools.

Hey gang,I took a look in the early tutorials for Flight and cannot find this, I know it was discussed along with also the statements needed for adding trim for roll and yaw as well as pitch.I would appreciate it if someone could again, tell me what the proper command lines are for the resetting trim, and for roll and yaw trim as well. I am going to be writing a joystick file for my Cougar finally rather than just mapping commands directly to it within the sim, and would like to get these added to it as well.Many thanks for the help,

Hello good people,My good friend asked me about this but i didn't know the answer and since he is not a member of the forum yet,i'm asking on his behalf :)So, he said he went to Logitech SetPoint and assigned macros to certain mouse keys but Flight doesn't seem torecognize it. Does anyone know whether this a restriction by Flight itself or it's just my friend? I can't seem to get my middle mouse button to work for moving the viewpoint around the cockpit. It would be nice to look over the side while using the stearman.I have a Logitech G5 laser mouse and the middle mouse button functions in other apps like it is supposed to. Scrolling the middle mouse button works on dials, etc. in the VC and if I click the right mouse button I can look around the VC, but I can't seem to change the viewpoint like it says you can (stearman intro).

CHECKLIST:- Let's forget about FLIGHT! A new company produces a GA flightsim offering just a few aircraft, but promissing additional add-ons for the near future.Would this sound interesting to you?Would you buy it?- The scenery in that sim is limited but rather detailled and immersive, the same going for Weather, and the overall physics model, looking at least as good as the best add-ons for your preferred sim until now (either xplane or fsx...).Would you go or it?Would you give it a try?- At the same time xplane and fsx continue their journey, but you know exactly what it offers, and either you like it or you are no longer up to it, anyway...Would you still enjoy playing…
