After being very disappointed with the Japanese warbird, I decided to do some flying in FSX. I had it with MS Flight. But even though I could now enjoy TrackIR again and the awesome Bay Tower RV7, something was missing... A certain, atmosphere... Light... FSX looked old (while flying about Orbx's New Zealand). So this afternoon I decided to start both FSX and MS Flight and switch between them al the time. I set them both to a similar time and weather and off I went. It didn't take long before I noticed I spend more time in MS Flight... Whenever I was flying in FSX I thought about the shadows and colors of MS Flight. And whenever I was flying in MS Flight I though about... …

Like in "R / C"....And most would actually pay for it in the form of a R/C model simulator.... Problem here is that we do not have the chance to plug & play FLIGHT with a R/C controller...When I was reading accross the forum this morning I got into the "Stearman test?" thread and found something I wasn't really aware of... The use of the "R" keypress to keep your view at the spot you are in, probably after having left your aircraft. That way you can act like if you were controlling an R/C model - big scale in this case :-)... Probably flying the cockpitless models this way will not harm us so called "hardcore simmers" so bad... :-)Not meant to be a comparison but, the …

Has anyone noticed an issue with wind on jobs?Last night I was running drugs on the big island (at least i hope that's what it is, I don't want to think about what it could be if not!) my settings were night time, clear sky. I noticed at take off there was a stiff breeze which I did not think was a property of the clear sky weather.Anyway, I take off and fly for about 30nm without issue, going around the south side of the big volcano. All of the sudden I am in a violent roll to the left, seemingly faster than the Maule can roll on its own. I gain control of the roll and the plane is stalling. It feels like I have no power, but the engine still seems to be running. The pla…

  6. Hi Guys,Im new here in the forum and Im new in flight simulators too, but I have alot of experience in play online with Xbox and I would like to share my knowledge about this. I searched here in the forum but didnt find any topic about this subject.MS Flight use the same network that Xbox to play online with Game for Windows Live and so the same rules to play in Xbox apply to play online with MS Flight. You need to open some ports in your Router to use Live in the best way, if you don't open this ports you still play online but with some limitations, for example: if your NAT is moderate you connect to others games but no one connects to you your game even if your game is …

I've been having some issues with Flight recently. I've downloaded Hawaii, the Maule, and the RV-6A, but am having issues with the Maule especially. Every time that I want to use it, it insists that I "redownload" it (and it seems to download either nothing or a very small file). In addition, if I want to fly a mission with it, if I click the "Fly Again" option, it does not restart the mission from the beginning, and instead continues the mission from the last position was. For example, if I was doing a landing mission, it would take me to the spot that I landed at, and the only way that I can restart the mission is to go back to the main menu.Has anyone else experienced t…

Can someone with the Stearman confirm this? I was watching a video and the guy said that if he powered up the Stearman for takeoff, then quickly jumped out (like he was going to walk) that the plane would continue and takeoff on it's own. No adjustments to trim or anything else was done. Just wondering...Thanks!

Folks, here's just a quick HU for you:Yesterday I've spent the entire evening to find out why my NAT status in Flight's multiplayer settings wouldn't change from 'moderate' to 'open' even though I had set up all required port forwarding rules in my router (which doesn't support UPnP).It turns out that the Windows firewall (Win7 in this case) was the culprit. The Flight installer had created exceptions for itself in the Windows firewall settings, but they were only activated for public networks, not for private networks (as which my primary network adapter was classified). This may be due to my non-standard network setup, but if you have the same problems check the firewall…

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but the times for the jobs on the job boards is WAY WAY off. Most are underestimated.I'd guess that the people who entered that data have never flown the job.ORThey don't own a watch.Would be nice if the time estimates were somewhat close.

I have all the aerocache's now except that one that you need to get over 70,000 feet to get. (curvature of the earth).Don't know why they have one that's impossible to get. At least the planes I have can't get that high.Anyone know why it's included?Do Microsoft people on the team read any of these posts? Are there cows in Texas?

After the new-toy effect I feel quite bored doing missions and aerocaches searches.I would now feel the missing of an ATC, a real weather engine, jets, FMC, etc etc.. let's say pretty much the simulation aspects that Flight is missing.I feel bored of transporting imaginary pigs over and over again, over and over the same routes over and over the same mountain. Rewards in addition give you nothing but a number of XP points, that's a repetitive routine I am bored of.I would like to warn MS that without simming aspects the upcoming weeks will be cruel in terms of DLC purchases, except few casual gamers buying Alaska and the Beaver that BTW is a Maule with the water landing c…

This is part of a message I addressed to [email protected]. I am not waiting for an answer because I am not actuallly asking for support on any specific aspect of FLIGHT, but it was my contribution, so I hope, regarding what I really would like to ask for the near/medium range future of this GREAT flight gamulator :-)...==== Excerpt from my message follows... ====And now, to the - I hope - interesting part of my message :-)1) FLIGHT's Flight Model:It feels great already, and it's very easy to find out that FLIGHT must rely on fresh code in what concerns directly to flight physics. Many of the rather annoying bugs / limitations that plagued the successive versions of…

  22. Today´s aerocache Maluaka Beach doesn´t want me to get it. Even when standing right under/in it and the distance showing 0 miles, it just doesn´t "plop" and let me discover it.I even flew right through it, almost hitting the nearby trees with the Icon when trying to get it, but with no success. Am I doing something wrong or do you háve any ideas what I could do better to get it?Thanks,WernerP.S. Sorry I just saw the post regarding the same topic a few lines below. Admin plz remove my post. Why must the gear suddenly pop out when you are in the air and shut your engine off? It also happens in the icon when you have landed in the water, but beached the plane and shut your engine off.
