I have read somewhere:"If you play offline, your game progress is saved and your Pilot Profile willsynchronize the next time you sign in with your Games for Windows –LIVE profile and password"But from the various messages from people who LOST part of their data after reinstalling Flight or installing it on another system, one can deduce that Flight SAVES yourACHIEVEMENTS (Live Profile/ACtivity) and STATS (https://microsoftfli...en-us/myflight/) withyour LIVE profile, but NOT your detailed PROGRESS (challenges etc...)!So you better SAVE regularly your detailed CAREER data which are here (together with your control settings) :C:UsersYourUserNameAppDataLocalMicrosoftFligh…

So, I installed FSWidgets GMap for MS Flight.I started a free flight in the game, then switched to Windows Explorer, and started GMap. It showed me my position (it connected to Flight), and I clicked on "Stay on top".But when I switched back to Flight, GMap was hidden - it won't stay on top of the game window.Has anybody succeeded in getting GMap to show during a Flight? No fair if you have multiple monitors!

Hello good people,Since we don't have some sort of mission editor, the only way to make challenges for community members is verbally and visually, using Avsim forums :)So i will start :)Few weeks ago, i was flying with a friend looking for Aerocaches and stumbled upon a rather small keyhole on the tiny island of Niihau (west of Kauai). I gave it a try which resulted in a severe crash.Never flew near there afterwards. But today, after watching some cool Youtube videos of amazing real world stunt pilots, i was kind of reminded of that keyhole and decided to try again. So, after several tries that didn't end well, i finally managed to fly through the keyhole with my RV-6 :)He…

Wow, those wizards at FSWidgets has done it again! This is really cool!FSWidgets releases GMap for Microsoft Flight-------------------------------------------- FSWidgets have released what may be the first addon for MS Flight. SimCity is an other simulation franchise that is going to be rebooted next year, the last version being a least as old as FSX. It's not flight sim, but let's see if any parallel can be made between Maxis and Flight studios strategies. Most of you have Joshua Howard interview in mind, so I will be quoting only Simcity spokepersons here :About the simulation engine :"Over the years, we knew what the game needed to be, and that's when we started to build Glassbox, a simulation engine that can deliver the type of city-building game that we wanted to build", said Kip Katsarelis.About targeted audience :"We're trying to build a game that satisfies a wide audience and different …

Well, this morning I tried my first ever intrument landing (RV6 landing challenge... 4? I forget). I've never tried one in Flight/FSX/FS9/F4 or any other flight sim. I've also never tried one in real life, although I do have the required hours under the hood for my PPL.My first attempt went... OK. My real life experience using VOR's allowed me to get close. I actually ended up breaking out over the airport, although I was over near the beacon and nowhere near where I should have been for a proper landing. One of my biggest problems was keeping the needle for the glide slope centered. And this was really a result of not know what power setting to use for descent and a…

Yesterday I have time and I've decided to do Hawaii Photo Book mission (only one left). I was enjoining real nice scenery, and learning about Hawaiian history. When on the last leg (about 150 NM from landing) I want to take some more screenshots. And guess what? I press the "N" instead of "V" key. :Monkey: What a bummer. But I must say again. Really nice flight and scenery.

There was a game that was loved by many, in fact it had a community much like Flight Simulator. The game was called "Ants", and the brainchild behind that was Joshua Howard (who is now behind Flight). Joshua, if you are reading this, please take your own advice as you gave the "Ants" community and help to make "Flight" be the best it can. Here is a quote from an interview Howard game, along with a link to the entire transcript-- in response to the future of Ants....."Jason_Cook> Right... and what happens to Ants? The community wants to support it, as mentioned by the antsdev project mentioned by the previous poster. Even if Zone.com is not willing to give any develop…

I've tried and can't locate any zero to download. No Zero shows up in my hanger. I even tried going to the Microsoft website and no luck there either.Well I wouldn't download it anyway since I'm not going to EVER buy a plane without a cockpit. Don't know why they would even make one.I got suckered into buying that P-51 (but just so I could get up around 48,000 feet).Never again.Anyway the reason I was trying to find the Zero download is because I wanted to see how much they were charging.Oh well, perhaps they got rid of it, since all I have read has been negative.Anyone acutally download the Zero. If so, how much?

I have now Seen a number of good videos of the P51D in flight. It is a very nicely done aircraft and seems to preform well. Please give us the option of a operational cockpit for this bird, it is the fastest of the bunch. I would gladly pay for this or like A/C with a full cockpit . I really feel you are shooting yourself in the foot by not offering at least the option. Please do not do this to us again, it is such a waste. I for one will not buy any aircraft without a full cockpit no matter how much I like it. Thank you all for FLIGHTand your hard work, I will be looking forward to further good things down the road.Steve

I have started flying by using the checklist for the aircraft I fly.Included in that cheklist, is typically a certain degree setting for flaps, at least in the Maule. Now I have my flap increase and decrease controls, the key commands for them, assigned to buttons on my throttle through my Cougar's programming. So I press it down, I get flaps increase, press it up, I get flaps decrease. In the RV, this works beautifully. I can press and release immediately and get very fine increment movements of the flaps, both up and down. Or hold them in either position and they continue to lower/raise. But, in the Maule, a single press down most often gives full down flaps, then a sing…

A very simple basic one I should really know, but never have really messed with it...The only "aid" I have on in Flight , is the mixture - I have it set to auto.I do have mixture mapped already to a rotary on my throttle, as I figured I would change to manual before too long. The rotary has a center detent. Now, if I set the mixture for manual where I control it - well, how will that really translate to my rotary? I obviously know turning all the way in one direction will be full rich and the other full lean. So would the middle setting , be about the correct starting point for mixture and then just play with it from there listening to the engine? Will it be easy to tell …

Hey! I was wondering if any fellow FLIGHT beta testers had this same experience.. If you went into the top view of a plane in an early flight beta, and zoomed all the way out, you could see the whole world. There was scenery everywhere, but I couldn't make out its detail level. At first, that made me feel good, but after reading the interview with Mr. Howard, I'm getting mixed results. Either way, I'm loving flight, even though I'm a crazy-hard-core FSX'er. Thanks! -Sam C.

AVSIM Teamspeak Opinion PollAs I am sure many of you are aware AVSIM has embarked upon providing a Teamspeak Service for its members. We have teamed up with the Digital Theme Park Teamspeak organization to provide state of the art access and benefits. For instance, they operate two reliable online servers for FSX users that operate 24/7/365 that are offset timewise for broader coverage of different time zones. You can download and install Teamspeak using the instructions found here:http://dl.dropbox.co...%20Setup_v2.pdfWe need your help. We could go off half cocked and shoot ourselves in the foot because we fail to understand what you are, and are not, interested in. So we…

Hello all. Are you stummped trying to find the Aerocaches? Would you like to see a map and get directions to where they are? I have created a site called Aerocache.com that has maps and flight path information. It is free to use and you don't have to register. Constructive criticism is appreciated. check it out at Aerocache.com

I am trying to give Flight another try. I never gave it much chance before. Anyway, I'm having some issues:-I have the CH throttle quadrant. I can get the throttle to work, but can never get the power over 95%. I tried adjusting the sensitivity in the standard.xml file, but it doesn't seem to accept anything greater than 1. I can adjust it down, but not higher. There is no null zone on this axis either. I have to hit F4 if I really want full throttle. -I just flew a $100 hamburger mission. All was going well until I ran into 68 knot wind gusts. My plane was basically flying sideways. The winds suddenly died down to a normal 8 kts on final approach. Everything wa…

So I join a multiplayer game and my plane appears in the air in the middle of a gigantic fog bank. This was a shock, as 99% percent of the games I join are in perfectly clear skys."What the....!!!" I am thinking, as I try to figure out where the heck I might be. This musing was interrupted a few seconds later as my apparently plumeting plane slammed into the ground, aditionally alerting me to the fact that I was also somehow upside down........... :Monkey:What I want to know is, barring radio contact with an airport, and finding yourself in such conditions (and what about at night!) how do other people handle the situation of sudden dense fog, other than holding the stick…

If you have never played Little Big Planet on the PS3, what makes it unique is that it lets each user create their own "world" missions that are then uploaded to a central server. Then everyone else can connect and choose to play that persons mission and rate it. The developer gives you tons of tools and flexibility to make really creative and unique "puzzles". This approach has created a popular community, kept the game fresh and compelling.I am not a fan of Flight at the moment, but if they would implement something like this I would probably jump all over it. Imagine everyone being able to create custom missions and goals, then store them on a central server for t…

Here's a short video to show the hangar at PHNL that looks ideal for multiplayer hangar races. The video includes a voice-over explaining how the race works. If anyone's interested we're planning a race Sunday 3/25/12 at 1:00 PM US Pacific time. Hope to see you there!http://youtu.be/GgFDAfrtEZ4

any idea whether there are additional levels after #20? or is that the pinnacle of flight? though I would not really call me a gamer I have to admit that achieving these levels helped me to do funny missions I would otherwise not do, especially these loop or even worse the coins things. but if there is nothing beyond level 20 it gets a little, well I don't quite know whether boring or senseless, Of course I fly because I want to fly and would not complain if MS had not added the levels. but since they did introduce these levels I would expect that they do not stop half way. right now it feels like I am a marathon runner but the time keeper teels me that they will take the…
