I've been practicing the missions that require tracking the ILS in zero visibility. This is one area where Flight really shines and shows it's potential. The fluidness of the gauges and framerates make this the most realistic ILS zero visibility practice I've ever done in a sim.

Anyone else find the third landing challenge in the Icon really tough?It's the one at the airforce base all the way up at 7000 feet. I'm guessing this is pretty close to the operating ceiling of the Icon... can anyone confirm?The only way I could keep the plane even remotely stable on approach was to come in fast (75-80 kts) at almost full power but this gives warning messages about having the gear down at high speed.Is this a realistic representation of what you would have to do in rl?I understand that at higher altitude, air pressure is less and stall speeds etc get higher. Presumeably, flying with gear down at 80 kts at sea level is more damaging to the infrastructure …

When I start my Microsoft Flight, about five seconds later (still on the first loading screen) I get the above error....HELP!!!! :shok:

After flying above Hawaii every day since the release of MS Flight, I keep on discovering new things and I keep on being amazed about HOW MUCH the adventure pack offers for just 20 bucks... There are still people who say 20 dollars is too much for the adventure pack...Now let's forget about the RV6 (which might have cost 20 bucks on its own), but lets focus on ONE airport... Only ONE. Hello.I'm doing a challenge - one where you need fly through green circles and where volcano aerocache is. As soon as you passed last circle your goal is to come back to airport and "land ans stop on runway 26". Sounds easy, right? But when I did that nothing happened. I'm stayting on that runway, just near the yellow marker, engine's killed, checklist for engine shutdow passed. But misson just don't end.What I'm doing wrong?What else I need to do in order to complete it?Thank you.P.S. In Free Flight, I would like to chose a suitable runway for landing based on wind conditions.The only way I've found to get info on the wind, is the HUD which I typically do not use..SOO.. is there a way to turn the HUD on/off without going to the setup menu?OR, is there some other way to check for wind? I've looked for wind socks but have not found (at Lihue).With weather conditions "Low and Threatening" there is enough crosswind to blow my RV6 off therunway, even with full rudder to compensate..

So here we go again , if you take off from HI13 rwy 02 maintain rwy heading and it should only take a couple of minutes to see this place to your left . The picture with the map shows me in the ground just so that you know where it is . If you can handle the Maule there is plenty of space to stop .Around 30% Fuel or less its ideal to do this . enjoy...as you can see here dont wory about hitting the threes there is plenty of space to not hit anything if you cant stop .and here is the map

well? Which of the DLC planes will get you up there? Is there a weather baloon hidden somewhere? Or an SR-71 even?!

After completing over 50 Aerocaches... I just finally wanted to bring up this point. It starts you at the nearest airport to the cache. The button says take off, yet it always slews your A/C in the air. I would like to actually begin from the runway. A lot of times when starting in the air, my controls are not set, and if at night no interior lights are on. I'm just not set up to how I'd normally be flying and it just seems off.I think when beginning an Aerocache hunt, you should start on the ground so you can go through your start-up and take off procedure. Just a thought. Unless maybe I've done something to make me start in the air all the time?CheersDarryl

I use a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X controller used in many Flightsims.......FSX....Strike Fighters etc, and it functions 100% on all buttons and axes in every one.........I have found that when flying in MS Flight the up trim(4 button) and down trim (3 button) have hardly any effect and have to be pressed 20 or more times to have any noticeable effect.....anyone else had this problem...if so any ideas as to why....!!!!!

Weird. Yesterday while messing around in Flight and shooting some landings, my toe brakes worked. I'm using CH rudder pedals and have them assigned in setup. I also have button one on my CH yoke programmed for brakes.The only thing I've changed in the setup was to uncheck smooth braking. When I did, the toe brakes started working. Wonder if MS snuck in a patch that I didn't know about. Don't care how it happened, I'm just glad it did. Now to do some testing today. I think differential braking is working also. If so, I'm happy.

Greetz folks,I´m kinda wondering what´s going on over at the MS Flight News Updates site. I used to post a few positive comments before without any bad attitude towards Flight or MS. I rather praised it as going back to the roots and the fun of flying low and slow. Then suddenly my nickand avatar were removed and all my previous comments show "Anonymous" as poster.What´s even more disturbing is that the bottom of the News Udates page shows the remark "New Comments to this post are disabled" but I can see an ever increasing number of new comments flocking in.Before that happened, i.e. after my nick and avatar were gone but before new comments were disabled for me, I succee…

There was a post on here a week or so ago about the potential for importing new scenery and aircraft models into flight, maybe even existing FSX versions since it seemed a similar engine/file format was being used. Any updates on this? It was an awesome prospect to potentially be able to tap into all of the existing 3rd party content...

HiI'm having problems activating or downloading the Maule?When I hit the Download Free Preview button it now say Re-downloading and the thing goes round and round for ever.If I click on the yellow button that says confirm download I get a message saying that Microsoft Games for Windows failed to connect.When I click on Trouble Shoot it takes me to a log in window and logs me into Market Place.I've been going round and round on this but the aircraft never becomes active though it has a little yellow area in the upper left corner like the ones that are active.The P51 doesn't have that.The airplane preview window goes around but it's empty.Anyone have any ideas.Mike

I found out over the weekend that a long time family friend moved to Hawaii to retire. I asked for the specific address since I have spent the past few weeks "researching" Hawaiian islands. From a Mapquest search, I found that he's just across from the Ala Wai Golf Course on the island of Oahu, situated between HNL airport and Diamond Head State Monument. I now have a personal connection to Hawaii & will think about him when I pass over his residence in Flight.

Hi all !By default, "Flight" is installed in c:\program files(x86) .If, as me, you want to install it on another disk (D:\Flight or whatever), you have to modify your "Settings" in Game for Windows Marketplace. There, you can choose the place to download, the place to install the "game", the places for videos and add-ons.I you have installed "Flight" before this operation, you must uninstall it in Windows Control Panel, then uninstall it in GfW Marketplace, then re-download it ...Hope this helpsPierre LFBE

This morning Flight was fine but this afternoon I went to start it up again to do some more challenges, etc. and when I clicked 'Play' it took me straight to the first mission (balloons) and then to the second mission (yacht water landing). I couldn't exit out of them to the map so I finished them again to see ##### it was doing. When I got back to the map after finishing them I still had my DLC (thankfully) but all the missions, challenges, aerocaches were reset. I hope this gets rectified because I spent a good amount of time doing the missions, challenges, aerocaches.It still has all my stats though, because when I landed on the water by the yacht I got the 100 landing…

Microsoft needs to add more fire to the flame or concept they thought would work (for gamers) but hasn't caught on yet. Can anybody tell me why an WWI mode was fine for FS4 but totally out the question for Flight? I know we around here don't think that but why do the developers think this? What's wrong with a Red Baron mission where you can actually shoot other planes down? What's wrong with a DLC that offers shooting missions that can be played via multiplayer?Another thing that would liven up Flight is a Carrier Battle group (not the one lone carrier we've seen in FS2000, FS9, FSX, and some add-on packages) but rather a whole battle group with AI moving on the ship …

I'm using as much of MS Flight as you can get for free, and will no doubt download additional stuff after a while. Meanwhile, I'd like to poisition aircraft better, like at the end of a runway or at a terminal. At this point the only way I know how to do it is to move the airplane ion the map, and that is pretty inaccurate, or fly in and taxi-taxi-taxi. Is there a better way?Barney

Alaska is official but how many would like to see the Caribbean as one of the next DLC's to come out (I know, I know, they have to take care of some the European areas as well). If Microsoft did this I'd hope they would include Florida (the full state) as this is a serious jump off point from many cities in the states to the Caribbean. There's more than a few flights that leave KMCO for island destinations. It would be nice to see all the Flight Schools modeled in Florida as well as Disney World. We would need some beefed up Aircraft for long distant Island hoping so this region would be a nice addition.
