I don't know about the rest of you, but for me to use the GPS panel in the CCDlx, which I do, especially in the mountainous terrain, I have to turn on the interment light because with out them on the map is so bright that I can't read. What say you? This is with them off. And this is with them on. Or is it just me?

Come one, come all, don’t miss J. R. getting busted by Law Enforcement or better yet CRASHING. Nah! not on this one. I plan to cruise at about 900’ AGL to keep my JAFO from yelling at me “you’re too high! get down”. For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the acronym JAFO, it from the movie “Blue Thunder” And stands for Just Another Fu--ing Observer. Today I plan to do some preliminary testing as to what I can and cannot do after locating a clandestine flight, and whatever else comes to mind. I plan on AlbacoreTunaMan to host this flight with Weather: Clear Skies, Time: Day, Season: Summer, if he would prefer something else that would be fine with me, I’ll…

That's what I should do! The landing challenges are lots of fun, so I was up at Haines in the Stearman. This is the one where you start with a wind of 60 kts !!! The airplane is shaking and buzzing, yawing all over the place. You wonder if it's going to break apart. Crazy stuff and lots of fun. After that, I needed to calm down a bit so I was just buzzing when I spotted Jack and Tom parked on the apron at Kodiak. Guess they must be inside having a beer, why not join them? What? When I got down, I saw that Jack's plane was a real mess - some kind of weird alien UFO was mating with his Cub! :LMAO: Tom, for h…

So this morning I decided I would take the helicopter out for some hover and backwards flying time. I’m at the town of Glennallen next to Gulkana (PAGK) airport. I’m the host, so I get to select the weather, and in this case I selected HEAVY WEATHER. In the first shot I am just east of the town with a 43kts, wind from the west. Next I went in for a closer look at this water tower, I had another shot when I was right at it, but deleted it accidently. Here I going to land on top of the building that my shadow is on. I am down, but shown about 2-3ft. above it, must be something to do with the two rectangular objects on the roof. W…

Getting real quiet around here again, so I guess you will have to suffer with me. Here are some SS from a couple of Clandestine Mission I flew on 5/14/14. #1 Was from Larsen Bay (PALB) to Kodiak Muni (PADK). I only took this one SS, it is of flying by ATM (AlbacoreTunaMan) en route. #2 Was another one of those fun ones. This flight was from Doyle Estates (30AK) to Little Susitna (8AK6). I selected it and set my fuel in the Maule for the trip. This is what I saw when hit start mission. One look at that and I knew there was no way that I was ever going to get the plane in the air via the runway, time to improvise. As you can see from the dire…

I was out the day before yesterday high altitude cousin (39,135) with the P-51. As I was descending, I noticed this in the distance. I changed to the CC and went in for a closer look. This is looking back at it from the closest airport (Lime Village (2AK)). This would have made a good Aerocache.

  9. Aerocache Hunts.... A great activity to carry out every day, but what aircraft do you use for these activities? Personally, my favorite is the RV-6 Blue Ribbon. It helps me get to the Aerocache as fast as possible whilst having a little bit of stability and control for Quick turns when the Aerocache tacker starts to change!

If you haven't collected this one, enjoy the hunt. I remember this one being tough for me. For some reason with all the twists and turns in the river, I just couldn't get the track right. I did finally find the cache, but it game me a good run. Enjoy.

  12. Hello AVSIM!! I just bought FLIGHT last night and I'm loving it!So I try to start Flight today with my wired xbox controller and doesn't control the game anymore. The game recognizes it in the drop down box but when I try to map a button to it, the game doesn't respond. Its clearly not receiving commands from my controller. The controller cannot navigate the menu at all. And when flying, none of the buttons do anything except the left joystick. the left joystick is the only function that seems to have remained.I tried both my wireless and wired controller. restarting, unplugging, and run as admin but to no avail. Same thing for both. Does the same thing with 3 different w…

Thought maybe you would like to hear a good story about the clandestine flight I just completed. I was in multiplayer, hosted by someone else, and they had the weather set to Isolated Thunderstorms. It had wind from the east at 29kts. So I decided to hunt up a clandestine flight. I came up with one from Jewell (AK72) to Tyonek (TYE). Not taking the wind into consideration, big mistake. Next and even bigger mistake was I select the Maule for the job. Once you select the aircraft I don’t know how you can change it. I put in minimal fuel because Jewell only has 1360 ft. of runway, perfect for the CC. Well I crashed it 6 times trying every which way I could think of to try an…

Just came across this post at the msflights forums. It was posted a while back but shows some cockpits for the C-46 and the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, though they are static. Possibly done by converting the cockpits from FSX Aircraft using Stones' toolkit. Interesting Stuff, have a read! I might also start some development into this!

Unfortunately, there will be no SDK Release for Flight. I've been in contact with Microsoft some time ago, but there seems to be no luck in obtaining any of the tools. "The future looks bleak." The main reason into this is due to the legal restrictions that were placed on the tools during development. No one bothered to change these restrictions after the development stopped, so the tools cannot be released until permission to do so is given by the original software developer. If these restrictions were to change in the near future, Microsoft Flight will inform us all via its "social channels." For now, don't lose hope, Kavinda J.D

I've been experimenting with the .ogg/Vorbis file format but there has been no success in reading these files.. They are compressed .mp3 files and can be opened with FLV Player but for some reason the application cannot even read them. I've used both this FSB Extractor as well as fsbext. FSB Extractor gave me .ogg/Vorbis whilst fsbext gave me a .CELT File format when extracting the FSB bank. I've previously talked to Orion about this and the .ogg files should be playable with FLV but no luck for me. Here's what I've been doing, I've used the Tutorial1_loc.fsb file which is found under Microsoft Flight\Languages\CoreContent.en-US.pak\missions\Tutorial1. -The s…

Just wondering how you Flight fans configure your game sessions for casual fun. I mean things like time of day, weather. Game play choices like taking long or short flight jobs and flying in real time. I often configure dawn or dusk just to enjoy dramatic sun light. I did have weather set to random, however some flights were nearly impossible due to strong winds in underpowered craft. I usually set 'among the giants' for interesting clouds with light to medium winds. I try to find very short trips that I can fly without skipping, over interesting terrain. I prefer 'jobs' rather than free flight, for added challenge. And then I mix it all up with occasional ni…

Dear Flight Community, I have recently created a couple of repaints that I feel the online community will really love. I have mastered the ability to make aircraft appear metallic. I have also created a Flight camouflage that will completely hide your plane in the game. So, please check them out and tell me what you think. Thanks and enjoy. http://flight.dpxpc.com/downloads.html Sincerely, DXC
