The first time I did the Honolulu Limbo, it was daytime. I enjoyed it a lot and wished I could do it again. Yay! It came up again today and it was unchecked. This time, though, I am flying at night. I enjoyed it so much that I wish I could do it again another time. Best regards. Luis

During the beta test, I suggested that user should be able to uncheck Aerocache Hunts on the list so that they could do them over again if they so wished. Not so much for the XP (Experience Points), but because it was clear to me that this would be a popular activity in Flight and that many would want to relive interesting flights. I am fortunate  in that my Windows installation crashed and I had to reinstall it and also Flight. I have not restored my backup of the Flight profile, so now a lot of Aerocache Hunts that I had previously flown appear unchecked in the list. Talk about a silver lining! Anyway, I got to do Steve's "Halfway Tower" again …

Today's Aerocache was checked in my list, so I couldn't do it again. Darn! Instead, I did Steve's "Fill'er up" in the wilds of Alaska. Start at the Red Dog Zinc Mine. Here I am climbing out. Since it is open pit, this is probably not how the surrounding area really looks! It's probably some ecological disaster area. The good thing about open cockpit airplanes is the great view - no windows! The bad thing about open cockpit airplanes is no windows! So, freezing to death. A quick touch and go at Noatak strip. And my destination - Kotzebue. There does not seem to be an Aero…

Hi Folks Happy 2nd. Birthday ! Especially to those of you folks who were beta-testers. :good: Was that really two calendar years ago ? Frightening, as it feels just like yesterday, since that Yeeehahh !!!, on realising FLIGHT RTW had been released early, (by a couple of hours only). I'd great fun that evening, & subsequently, attempting to reacquire my beta-period's previously earned awards, particularly those for the various Landing Challenges, where I was still struggling-away with HI31's sloping & bump-indented runway. I then progressed to the Hawaiian Adventure Pack's content, having a hoot again flying the LCs, my favourites being the RV6-A LC 5 into L…

Hello All I never tried Flight. However I do remember the furore around the time of its release and its rather quick demise.(Nuff said) Anyways at the time I remember a post suggesting that the FLIGHT forum be closed as it was no longer supported by MS and seemed to be heading into oblivion. At time I agreed with this. Having seen that FLIGHT is now two years old ,and does seem to have a very active forum, I must apologise for supporting this suggestion. If you guys (and occasional girls) are still getting enjoyment from this sim ,then JOLLY GOOD LUCK to you!Long may your support ,enjoyment and forum continue. We are all just different branches of this intriguing h…

We had storms yesterday so no Internet connection for me - and no Aerocache. So, I decided to do Steve's Songlo Vista, that I had already done. For some reason, when they are made permanent, they show unchecked in my list. No problem - just do it again! Since I had already flown the full flight before, this time I started at Songlo Vista strip. This is my kind of flight - under the bridge! B) Thanks, Steve! My airplane looks great in the crisp Alaskan air. On to Talkeetna for a landing. No, no, Taklkeetna Village strip, much shorter. But, then this morning I was able to get an Interne…

  11. Self Explanatory but cannot figure out how to do it myself using the Toolkit. :( I've been experimenting with the Splash but it's replaced in the CoreContent1 File. I've designed a new splash but following the normal technique will only replace files found in CoreContent. The changes I wish to make will simply be replaced. Also talked to Stone about this and putting the files under "Core\<virtual path> will do the trick, but I don't entirely know what this means. Has anyone managed to override any of the files in CoreContent1? Thanks for the help,

My old TM Hotas Cougar is giving me a lot of problems. It became jumpy. Can't make a turn without sudden jumps, or smooth add throttle. I've tried to clean contacts, but no joy.So I'm looking for new one but with limited funds. Around 60 USD. Any suggestions? Anyone with experience with Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X?

Chasing after Aerocaches at night is not for the faint of heart! On the runway at Hanamaulu - I'll keep the landing lights on for the duration of the flight. Climbing out with the Wailua Valley all lit up behind me. Once I get into the Waimea Canyon, the darkness is complete! After a lot of near-crashes, I finally spot the Aerocache, perilously close to the trees. Barking Sands is my destination - can't wait to get down. I have never been so happy to end a flight. Night flying in canyons is not for me. Best regards. Luis

All, Today, I have installed Microsoft Flight. After installing, I clicked on LIVE link to login,- I was authenticated and a screen popup came saying it is downloading my profile. After waiting 20 secs or so I got an error message: The live service maybe unavailable or there maybe an issue with your home networking equipment or firewall. I have troubleshooted this problem but cant find a solution. I have forwarded all the ports required for Windows LIVE games and have turned off my firewall and AVG. Still, I receive this message. Any help would be appreciated. My System: Win7 x64

... another Aerocache - that I already had! On the runway at Princeville in the dusk! Climbing out from Princeville ... in the dusk! The Aerocache should be somewhere down there in the dark. The approach lights of Lihue can be seen in the distance,. I thought to just follow the Kapaa upstream until I hit the Aerocache. It should be easy to see a rotating yellow triangle in the dark. In fact, I got the Aerocache without even seeing it, which, as I remember, is what happened the first time I got it. I headed to Hunumalau - here I am turning towards it ... in the dark! …

I check the Aerocache every day to see if a missed one comes up- it never does. Except for today! Hinalele Falls, sounds familiar, but it is not on my list. I am as surprised as Paul, a new Aerocache to get. I started my flight at Hunamalau, because I like this place. A nice view of the Wailua Valley as I climb in the Icon. I just pointed the nose at the sun since the Aerocache should be somewhere in that general direction. That peak up ahead is Kawaikini. Once I am up and over the ridge and inside the valley, it is reeking of falls, This is not going to be an easy find. Finally, I spot…

And another Aerocache that I am sure I already got, but that showed up unchecked on the list. Backtaxiing on the Princeville runway - real pilots don't need no stinking taxiways! A climbing turn towards Na'Pali. Good looking airplane, great to see it flying! The stunning Na'Pali coast - been here before many times. Just to prove that I really did get today's Aerocache. Farther down the coast, a group of (military?) domes. My destination - Barking Sands. Landed in the water and parked on the beach by the cabañas. Real pilots don't need no stinking runway! :lo…

... or terribly right! Checked today's Aerocache, Bare Island, and I did not have it! Except I distinctly remember getting it. And if I searched long enough through my thousands of screenshots, I am sure that I would find the proof. But, no matter, glad to start my flight at Ouzinkie. As I was taking off, I glanced to the right and saw an ... Aerocache. So, back I went to get it. It is the Spruce Harbor Water Sports Aerocache and I am positive that I already had it. Things are looking pretty bright! And my Cub looks great up in the air. Since it was on the way, why not put the Cub down at the Port Bailey Seapl…

  23. We moved the Crash to Desktop (CTD) and 'All About Us' sub-forums to the AVSIM Fixed Based Operations (FBO) Section today. They were formerly located as sub-forums to the FSX Forum. It will make it easier for members to locate the CTD Forum and allow members to post crashes not only while using FSX but any flightsim. If you have a crash while using FSX, P3D, FS9, Microsoft Flight and X-Plane please post the details of the crash there so members will not have to dig through a lot of non-crash topics to see a related problem they might be having. We have also moved the 'All About Us' to the FBO Section. This will allow members who not only visit the Microsoft Flight…
