I was out late at night on the farm. The dogs wake me in the middle of the night - what can I do but let them out. Just then, an airplane flew by overhead. This is crazy, particularly because it was really, really dark! So, I launched Flight and set the time to night! :lol: Then, I went looking for a Clandestine Job - found one on the Big Island. Immediately, I got the Night Bonus. I was up on the heights over Hilo - you can see the approach lights in the distance. The ground isn't always very dark - it's often lit up as if the moon was out. I am so pitiful. Never been good at the Gold Rushes. No matter how hard I try, it is just miserable. But, never say never. Since I am starting with a new slate, I picked the Hilo Gold Rush, the easiest. It always ends like this. Or, if I don't crash, I only have half the points at the end of the alloted time. I tried this Gold Rush a half dozen times tonight and never got the Gold. Or even the Silver. Pathetic, I tell you. After so much disappointment, I chose the Landing Challenges. This topic is posted the the Microsoft Flight forum, not any of the Flight Simulator fora or in Hangar Chat. I make this clear from the start because a number of people just see the title of a thread on the main page and immediately jump in with their unpleasant comments. Could not connect to the server today, this happens sometimes. so the only Aerocaches on my list were the original four. Honolii Cove was at the top and this was one of the tutorials. Why not do it again? On the runway at Hilo with my pretty little Cub. We didn't have this airplane for Hawai'i so it's almost like getting a new Aerocache. I originally did this Aerocache during the beta and only remember that it was buggy. It continued to display that the Aerocache was 5 miles away even after getting it. Always happy to be back in the front seat (only seat!) of my Mustang. Here it is on the runway at Hilo, smoke pouring out of the pipes, ready to roll. Turning to my destination, a visit to the Mauna Kea Observatories. This is the perfect airplane for a quick flight. Looking good! Lots of clouds on the way up. Just got back from rescuing this guy AGAIN. Why, because it is so much fun and so well put together. This is such an indication of what went into this game. I'm sure that many more and even more challenging rescue missions must have been on the drawing board. Once again, too bad. Steve

Pedro Bay airstrip, love the way that the shadows and the changing seasons play out. The way that the tree casts a shadow on the back of the hanger. Also this small airport is depicted so very much like the real thing. So much great detail put into this game, such a shame. Steve

Not today's Aerocache, that I already had, but the Oceanic 351 Aerocache ... that I already had! Every time one of them has been made permanent, it shows up on my list as if I hadn't acquired it. This was Steve's revisit of the wreck, I believe. So, I went ahead and got it again. I have finally finished installing all the DLC so I could load my repaints! Maui has some fabulous rugged terrain. Here is a shot of the coast on the North. At the end of the flight, turning off the runway, with the stunning view of the mountains in the distance. There are no jets in Flight, so I can park anywhere I want. My very own jetway, but I'll need a ladder to get up there! :lol: Best regards. Luis

I love beaches. So, you would think, living where I do, that I would spend a large part of my time there. Well, no, not at all. I haven't been to the beach in about 20 years! No free time, unfortunately. It is tragic. So, on the little time that I spend in Flight, I am happy to go to the beach. It was the old Polihua Beach at Lanai today. Flying over the North coast of Lanai. Beached at Polihua, what a fantasy life I lead. Not only do I pretend to be flying, I even pretend to be at the beach! :lol: But, I would rather pretend this than make believe I am shooting and killing people like in many other games. I am so far behind in Aerocaches collected. For the first few months, I was too busy exploring and did not pay much attention to them. So now, all of you are above 300 and I am not! I decided to do them all from now on (for as long as they last) in hopes of getting some extra. So, here I am at Port Allen on the runway ready to roll. I would have prefered one of my own paint jobs for the Icon, the Icon Blues for example, but Steve's Toolkit requires the Alaska pack in order to install add-ons and I still have not finished downloading that or even a number of the land class packs. So I had this happen to me for the first time ever. Never had this occur before. In fact I was able to run Flight on medium-high graphics before. I know my graphics card is a bit outdated, but it's always been able to run Flight perfectly fine. Any tips? Hope it's not a permanent problem.

I'm back from vacation and now am recovered enough to post again. As is typical with a 12 day vacation, you always try to include 20 days worth of activities. My vacation consisted of 3 days in Seattle followed by a 7 day cruise up the Inside Passage with ports of call in Ketchikan, Juneau, Scagway, and Victoria, B.C. on the way back. It was great. I've got to hand it to the Flight team members. The depiction of each of the included areas I visited ( Ketchikan, Juneau, Scagway, and all the coastlines and islands) very accurately reflect what is actually there. I constantly compared what I saw in Flight with the passing terrain and am amazed at what they accomplis…

I am so happy! :lol: I feel like a kid again, a 15 year old gamer, for example. I just re-installed the base pack and immediately went flying... right into the first obligatory tutorial. I am not complaining. After all, it's just a few minutes and it's not particularly tedious to do them. Needless to say, I did not crash into the balloons (maybe I should have :lol: ) and my landing was fine. My complete profile has been restored and once I have downloaded all the DLC, I feel like starting over again. I can play MSF for about ten minutes and then the sound cuts out. The sound cuts out completely on my system; e.g., if I task-switch to another program, like YouTube, there is no sound there either. But if I exit MSF, sound comes back. I found a page with suggested things to do, like making sure you have the latest DirectX and your sound card driver is up to date. I did all that and the sound still cuts out. Also, this is kind of a recent issue. I used to play with MSF a lot a couple months ago, and it was fine--the sound never cut out, not once. I took the game out yesterday and started playing with it, and now the sound is cutting out. Any ideas?

I just did a total download and install of everything FLIGHT onto my i5 laptop, manly to see if I could. Besides taking about 5 hours to get every thing back, guess I'm just a glutton for punishment, all went well. Everything I had paid for was returned. Everything is exactly the same as my desktop instillation except for the aircraft repaints of course. I bought everything at full price as it became available from GFLW. I thought it was a bargain at the time, still do. So, I have nothing at all from Steam. Maybe that is a good thing as it turns out. Steve

Was just on Steam checking pondering the purchase of Aerofly, and noticed that Flight is gone.

I believe this is a new one. I don't see it in any of my searches? Snag it quick.

Haven't had time to fix Windows yet, so I am not flying. But, I can still look through my old screenshots and get some enjoyment from that and from sharing them with you. Here are some images taken during the beta test. Flight was so beautiful compared to previous versions of FS. Best regards. Luis
