I apologize if this has already been answered in another thread. I tried a few searches to no avail. The FSX content conversion worked flawlessly for me, and Flight is offering jobs at various airports (other than Hawaii and Alaska), but won't let me fly them because I'm not a "level 5" (non-GFWL). I don't suppose there's a way to hack our way to level 5 to see if it's actually possible to fly those jobs? Dano

Come on, let's be honest, it's what we're good at. Having gotten slowely back into the pilots seat after a long forced period of abstenance and not being able to fly i also stopped checking into what was going on in the community. I hear that Dovtail are to bring out a new simulator based on Microsoft technology. It's clear that a lot of work had been done on Flight to move it to the steam platform. Therefore, it seems logical based on the fact that Dovetail is renowned for taking existing technology and building on it that the 'new' simulator is most likely going to be based on Flight or at the very least it will utilise flights core technology. Thoughts?

Does the toolkit allow for any weather parameters to be modified, such as those used, for instance, on the native FSX weather themes, which include good deviations from ISA weather ( Temp and Pressure ) ? In MS FLIGHT, as far as I recall, no matter what weather team we chose, Alaska or Hawaii, it was always 15ºC and 1013 HPa everywhere... Can the toolkit imported themes also get different weather variables into MS FLIGHT ?

Complete VOR tutorial VOR stands for 'VHF omnidirectional range'. The VOR is like a wheel with 360 spokes. The VOR is in the middle and the 'spokes' always (and only) point outwards. Radial 090 always points to the east, radial 180 always points to the south and so on. When you are ON radial 090 you always are east of the VOR, when you are ON radial 180 you always are south of the VOR and so on. You can't be ON radial 090 west of the VOR or ON radial 180 north of the VOR! The VOR only tells you where you are and not where you are going: you can be ON the 090 radial heading south or west or in any direction, so also towards or away from the station. Tuning th…

After reading with a ton of interest all of the progress in merging FSX assests into Flight, I decided to reinstall after a couple of years of it being gone from my hard drive. Just of bit of trouble doing that.... ^_^ I had originally downloaded Flight and purchased the Hawaiian DLC and the Maule directly through GFWL. Much later, after I had long uninstalled Flight, I bought the Alaskan DLC from Steam during a sale. Never downloaded or activated it. I decided to reinstall though Steam, since it was an easy one button click. Done. I can open up Flight, and I'm there with the Big Island and the Icon. That part works. However, I couldn't manage to sign int…

Is anyone using Windows 10 in its' current state with Microsoft Flight? If so, please post your comments either positive or negative in the thread. Since the free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users is a few months away, it wouldn't hurt for us to be up to speed. I don't have Windows 10 installed, but I'm considering it. I'll probably wait a few more months until the new browser is released though.

http://www.flighttoolkit.com/Downloads/FlightToolkit_1_1_3.zip Changes: - Changed writing of floating point numbers in SimProp to be culture invariant (always write with decimal points instead of commas). - Added versioning support in FSX conversion to allow for incremental updates. - Fixed bug in MDL conversion that would allow converting LODs that were empty. - Updated LOD numbers during MDL conversion to use the actual radius of the model. - Fixed some threading issues in Addon Builder when the Flight configuration selection dialog is displayed. Try rerunning the FSX conversion with this new version. You don't need to delete any of the old temp conversion…

A few changes in this one. www.flighttoolkit.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/FlightToolkit_1_0_29.zip The two installers were merged into one. At the end of the installation you will now be prompted to choose which configuration you want (Non-GFWL, or Official GFWL). You can also change them after installation from the toolbar in the Addon Manager. Just make sure Flight is not running when you do this. Installer: - Merged installer with separate process to choose whether to use Non-GFWL or not. Addon Manager: - Added option to switch configurations after installation - Reverted to an older version of MySQL.Data to fix the errors with adding aerocaches. …

This guy found out something and posted it on steam, which I found out today. It sounds like you can actually edit weather themes. However, edit at your own risk. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3120889

Hi, all. Just wanted to report that I am enjoying Flight with the complete world converted! What an amazing enhancement!! Steps I followed: 1. Installed FSX:SE fresh 2. Installed v1.1.1 of the Flight Toolkit (non-GFWL profile) 3. Ran the FSX Scenery conversion 4. Used Add-on Manager to install World Region UI and also FSX World 5. Reboot It works perfectly! I am flying over my home area in Southern Florida, and also my old stomping ground of NYC. Many thanks to Steve (Stonelance), Kavinda J.D, and all the other helpful folks in this forum Happy New Year! -Bob

Hi Folks Yes World - World, as intended. Whilst I love Flight's UI map-based concept, and admire its stylised representation, I'd always found its implementation, lacking sufficient useable detail, and on occasion, downright misleading. Guessing from some screenies, the flurry of FTK v1.0.17 'profile issue' posts, utterly swamped recognition & appreciation of Steve's incorporated World Region UI addon. I've no idea whether people are actively using it, so just as a head's up using Air1's location pic as a comparison example - It displays the terrain topography and some vector data from Flight's native files. I'd mainly been flying in wind…

I noticed recently that my website stopped updating when I added new posts, and the links between pages were not working. I ended up having to rebuild the site, so the structure is a bit different than before. If you notice any weird behavior differences on the website or in the Addon Manager (such as downloading addons), please let me know. Also, as part of these changes I removed all the older versions of the toolkit other than 0.7.3 (XP support), so if you needed an older one for some valid reason, please let me know.

I have been using the Aerocache Editor in the 1.0.29 Flight Toolkit. As of today, 5 have been submitted. Stonelance has done a great job with this program. I know he has some improvements in mind, but it is very usable as it is. Let's see some more caches from our community members! -Tom

Greetings! I am again enjoying MS Flight (thanks, Stonelance and team!). I am using the non-GFWL version 1.0.25.5 of the toolkit. The only issue I have is that every time I start Flight, my experience reverts to 0. I created a new profile after installing the toolkit. Is this a known issue? Is there a work-around to retain the experience you gain? EDIT: I had a second question. Even though this is the "non-GFWL" version, it will not start up unless I am connected online. No big deal, just curious why an internet connection is still required. (I play on a laptop while travelling). Thanks so much for any assistance, -Bob

A new feature and some bug fixes! This latest version adds the ability for community members to submit their own aerocaches. These go into a "pending approval" list and then I will need to make them "approved" before they show up for anyone in Flight. To do this, run the Addon Manager, and then go to Edit->Aerocache Editor. You will see a list of aeroacaches that have already been submitted (right now there should be only one), and you can click "Add Aerocache" to submit your own. Once we have a few in there I would like to do a vote in the community for their favorites and then I will turn them into real aerocaches. 1.0.27.0 - (Multiplayer, but no aerocaches)…

To keep things rolling along. Yes, I did download the steam version of FSX just for the heck of it, won't use it much. But I still prefer MS FLIGHT for the kind of flying I want to do. Just hope they are smart enough to use the FLIGHT engine on their future (in the works) flight sim. Steve

I've been using flight with the toolkit 1.0.25.17696. Most of the time it works fine - superb work by stonelance! But occasionally I get the following error message while the first splash screen is shown - and Flight fails to start: "Games for Windows - LIVE failed to initialize. Another Games for Windows - LIVE title may be running, or your product installation may be corrupted. You may need to repair or reinstall Microsoft Flight. (80004005)" A restart of the system does not resolve the issue. But then after a few days flight suddently works again with no problems. Has anyone else this problem? Could it be linked to an issue with the toolkit - or something else? Andr…
