Hi all. Used to be a active member here before the board crashed. Has anyone been able to get Flight running under Windows 8? When I click on Xbox live tile the game shows up but it doesn't allow me to actually launch the program. Thanks in advance! Bryan.

I installed MS Flight to An external SATA Drive as specs suggested a 10-30gb HD space. The install is <3gb. I therefore want to move the game on my drive C:. Is there any way to move the install without uninstalling & having to d/l the program again without upsetting windows Live settings in registry or messing other trhings up? I know that just moving programs causes registry problems.Any help would be gratefully received, Thanks!

Read its possible to install Flight on other PC's we own,when you sign in to different PC does your progress follow ?If not wouild be a great feature of windows live games, so you could achieve on the laptop and desktop...

I think the title says it all...beaches, mountains, desert, and the west side. All within 100 miles of each other. Now that would be some scenery diversity...let's see if Flight can handle it or how it handles it?Mark

Try this: jump in the icon at PHNL. Turn on the GPS and change declutter to level 2. You will see all the GPS waypoints and airspace steps shown - just like FSX.This means one of two things:1. It is there for future additions (I.e a working GPS and/or flight planner). :biggrin:Or;2. MS didn't bother to remove, it after stripping the meat from the FSX bones.

I double posted yesterday and think it got swept aside.Is anyone out there using Boot Camp or something comparable to run Flight?I have some students who do not have a Windows PC at home and I wanted to check before I give them a recommendation. Thanks.

Since I fly Aces High a lot, I can weigh in on this. What I've noticed in no way makes me like "Flight" less. I love it and will continue to fly it a lot. But, anyone who has flown AH as well as Flight will tell you that the depiction of other players' aircraft in AH is very smooth (maybe even perfect), whereas Flight attains perhaps 75% of that smoothness. I guess the technology that hitechcreations uses for AH to assure that smoothness is proprietary. Too bad that the current state of the art isn't the same for everyone doing multiplayer flying titles. If it can be done everyone should be doing it. I'm not griping, just pointing out what I've noticed.

Close looking at the surface is fine,quite realistic. But when u reach some altitude, do you think the water seems static, no waves, just like a mirror with reflection. The water effect is set to maximum. I don't know it is my gpu rendering problem or Flight inherent one. How about yours? Do you feel realistic surface at some level?

Many of us would like to disable this screen. How can this be done?

Im looking for people to regularly fly with much like a 'club' because the social aspect is what makes me tick with this software, does a club exist in these forums?

Hi allI think that the scenery in FLIGHT is generally quite impressive, despite the poor performance provided by my low end video card.In particular, the waterfalls are well done. But, as far as I can see the waterfalls are the only moving things in the landscape. I was sort of hoping that there might be the odd active volcano with lava fountains and moving lava flows etc but I have not seen anything so far. Should I keep looking or do we have to wait for some more DLC I wonder?

Anyone reach Level 20 or got 500 000 XP Points yet?Post here if you have and if you got any achievments.CheersCraig

Finally mastered this challenge.. Figured I record one of my runs since I love flying this course so much and ended up setting a personal best. Gold is simple.. Night is key but some skillful piloting also helps. Also done in typical cockpit view.. I think chase cam is cheating for things like this. :PIt appears odd in the Youtube window because it was recorded in windowed mode. You know what I liked best about that remark? Not the part about 3PD, but that MS actually has a plan for the future and will create stuff and support MS Flight for at least two years...! When FSX was released we just had to hope some patches might show up... They did, SP1 and SP2, but a lot of us would have appreciated some more attention of MS for FSX. SP2 was released a year or so after the initial release of FSX and after that nothing came from MS anymore... No news, no development, no nothing. You just had to guess if something would be done about FSX... And that guessing ended with the demise of Aces.But it seems MS is now really dedicating time to MS Flight! At lea…

So, first impressions are positive:-- Performance seems STELLAR! ..... I see lots of autogen on high settings, I can have weather, plenty AA and AF, and yet this is one of the smoothest, stutter-free flight sim experiences I've had. I use a i7 so I'm assuming this is very well optimized for modern PCs.- Opening missions were good fun, and quite a good idea that you have to complete these 2 missions before the FREE FLIGHT feature in unlocked.- Considering the emphasis on this being a game experience and more accesible to all; I could not find any way of setting the old "Autorudder" function, so because I was only using a basic joystick, I couldn't steer the plane on the g…

Was looking through the paint schemes just now, because I had got some new liveries for completing a clandestine mission. I was browing through and noticed in the Stearman section, an Australian Navy paint. I wonder if this is an early hint that perhaps Australia is on their list of DLC content. Would make sense if they released an airliner for example then you would have a stepping stone so to speak, Alaska, then Hawaii, then Australia. Only a thought though.Craig

Hi, I have a couple of questions on the Icon A5 flight model.1. When I reduce power, I typically see the Icon nose pitch up (initially), not down. I'm assuming this is because it's a "pusher prop" rather than a pulling prop?2. I've seen a couple of instances of very odd behavior with trim. I've always been taught (and always observer when flying C172 in real life) that trim is like cruise control - it sets a speed the airplane configuration is "happy" with. But for instance if I trim the Icon to 60 knots and then drop the gear, it dives for the ground and picks up TONS of speed - last time I pulled out of dive at 100+ knots. What's going on with this?Thanks!Scott

How about MS fill in some gaps?Some people badly need Track IR support.Other people badly need to see AI traffic.I badly need to see traffic on the roads and activity at the airports.Currently it is a well done but sterile world.Should MS complete the picture before moving on?

I've been flight simming since FS2002 and one of the reasons I never liked the flight sims of the past was due to the very poor ground textures. It always seemed like buildings were popping up out of the great plains.. flat, unrealistic ground surrounded by detailed buildings.I'm wondering what the big limitation is? Would it really take a big performance hit to beautify the land? Why can't we see realistic looking grass and other things like higher quality looking roads rather than poor resolution (worse than cell phone picture quality) flat renditions of them? I know the idea is to see it all from the air, but if you land or if you (like me) enjoy flying low, it just do…

I finally got the game running on my desktop, and was so happy. I than try to sign in, and see that an update is required, I thought well this can't be that bad. Well, I applied the update, restarted my computer, and now the PC crashes at the screen where it says to press any button. I thought maybe it was a one time occurrence, restarted my PC, and the game than crashed at the xbox live sign in area. The game freezes and the audio is stuck at the same time, my error before was that I was getting the black screen of death. Now I can start the game, but the game freezes within a seconds of starting. So, any help/tips would be much appreciated.

the behaviour of the aircrafts during crosswinds is strange in flight.Ok the crosswind push the aircrafts away from the course.But sometimes the wind pushes the plane away from the wind and sometimes it pulls it into the wind!?I know about the windvane effect, but whe you have 30kts crosswind from the right, it shouldn`t pull your course to the right but the left.in the most cases Flight does it wrong, sometimes (but few times) it does it correct.Anyone observed the same?
