I was wondering if your copilot can fly the plane during those long cruises across islands? If so, how can you get them to do it?Thanks!

Sorry MS, but the Pali Highway and the H-3 Freeway are not the same road. After flying the Pali three times, lower and slower each time, then landing on the road to WALK it, I figured I'd better check the Likelike and H-3 as well, in case they put the marker on the wrong one. They did.

During my googling of closed airports in Hawaii that aren't listed on the map by an icon in the legend I also remembered the map legend having a seaplane base. Well there is one with fuel!Island Seaplane Tours is represented. Link to map location: http://maps.google.c...ge&ved=0CDcQ_BIReal Location from Google Maps.In game

  13. The new Microsoft Flight is less of a simulator and more of a game. That being said, I will review it as a game. I have been a gamer since I first laid my hands on an Atari joystick. Since then I have been into gaming. I have owned every major gaming console since the Nintendo Entertainment System and have played more games than what is most likely healthy. From a gaming standpoint, this is how I see Flight stacking up. The menu layout is par for most games and the setup is strait forward. Key assignments could have been done better, however it is not terrible. After starting the game for the first time, I quickly realized that the opening mission the game …

I'm curious.. Maybe someone who was in beta can chime in. As I'm sure this isn't the only instance of this. Here is Old Kona Airport State Park.. Clearly (as it should be) identified with the X's to indicate it's closed. But here it is on the map without being labeled "Closed Airport". Seems kind of strange to me to implement a legend icon, have airports that could make use of it but not bother. I personally would find it interesting to fly around the islands checking out closed airports.Yes, I landed at old Kona Airport anyway. :)

Wow! This is a long mission.Don't let the mission description fool you. It says 1hr, but let me tell you, 1hr isn't even close! (Unless you use the Next Waypoint feature which will knock your score down quite a bit). For owners of the Hawaii Adventure Pack, this may be one of the best missions in Flight. But be ready for a session over 4 hours long. Here is a link to the flight path. The route is over 600nm long and takes you from Hawaii to Maui on to Oahu, then out to Kauai with a return trip back direct to Hawaii. Add in the scenic diversions, time orbiting for the photographer, and a layover at Dillingham for a break and refuel (and you're gonna need that refue…

...but I just couldn´t resist. I´m newcomer to Avsim forums and found my way here after searching some forum with discussion of MS Flight. Some sensible discussion that is, ´cause comments about the game on the forums of some other sims (Cliffs of Dover, DCS, X-Plane...) don´t seem very reasonable. Basic story goes like this: "Dodging balloons! W00t! Hated it, uninstalled within 10 minutes!!! Screw you M$!!!". I just can´t understand this childish, narrowminded (on a second thought, scratch that; children are, after all more open minded than us adults) hate that is raging on forums. Why? Because there really seems to be no reason for it. Flight really is a good game. And…

  18. Ok, so allow me to indulge myself and post my own opinion for a minute as I am sure everyone is sick and tired of reading what others think. I thought I would offer a different perspective on Flight from a "hardcore simmer" (Cold and dark, 45 minute pre-flight, by the book, by the charts flyer)My First noticeable impression and this is pretty funny but Flight has the best water sounds I have heard in ages! Seriously, I could have just sat in the cockpit and listened to water hitting the side of the plane after landing for the 2nd mission. it was SOOOO relaxing!!! I actually thought, wow, this could be the basis for the best shipsim to date LOL!So with that being said,…

Well, I see many posts about it, and I think the most simple solution for those pedals is to open the Saitek profiler, go to Programming, move the mouse arrow over left toe, a small arrow will appear, click on it, a pop up menu will appear, then choose bands, then click on the band 33%-66%, press the key z on your keyboard (this is the default key assigned to the left brake, if you changed it then press the key you assigned at the command "left brake"), do the same with the band 66%-100%. Repeat the same for the right toe (of course choosing the key for right brake "C" for default), save your profile and assign it to your pedals by clicking the small icon (I suppose you k…

  21. I wish/hope there is some way MS Flight users can submit feature requests and bugs directly to the Microsoft Flight development team.Yes, there is an email address, but there seems to be no public forum or knowledge base for features and fixes, so we could see what's being considered or not. After my limited experience as a beta user (where we had a direct feedback database) and now with the initial release, I can say the top two missing features on my wish list are:1) Force feedback for my Microsoft Sidewinder FF2 joystick - surely the code already existsts add this missing bit of realism to Flight?2) Flight planning - another simple bit of code with a big payoff in added…

  22. Like many other long time flight simmers I have been very pleasantly surprised by Flight. The nice visuals and scenery, excellent performance and sheer fun of flying endeared Flight to me enough to cough up for the Hawaii pack and the Maule. After years of endless tweaking it is so refreshing just to have something that looks great and runs great straight out of the box. No more trawling forums trying to collect tweaks or configuration file edits, no more experimenting with snake oil hily grail tweaks. It just works as it's meant to. Then of course there is the simplicity of the programme itself - I don't have to run through a ten minute ritual of starting and connecting …

  23. Hi,I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and sorted it out?The actual aircraft texture on all my installed planes look pretty rough bit the scenery textures outside look fine. Really odd. At first I thought it was a ploy by microsoft to get you to buy the extra planes then all looks good but it was not to be.I'm running 2 X 5870 ATI cards 500mhz each on a reasonable system that displays FSX just fine. Tried changing the different settings within Flight but no luck. As I said though the scenery looks great.Any help would be appreciated please. Thanks,Andrew
