As the title said. I truly miss some option to get random weather and random time of the day when flying jobs. It would be nice to set a chance percentage on what weather you are getting. Do you vary your weather settings and the time of the day you fly for jobs on the job board? Do you go for fair weather most of the time or do you do jobs in storm conditions as well. There are roughly 3 weather themes that give you good flying weather while the rest actually depict weather conditions when you should not risk flying VFR in a small plane like the Maule or the Icon.Thanks for your views.Alex

Have downloaded MS Flight, just having a look but I cannot find any way to change to night time or any weather settings at all,sure I've missed it but can any one tell me how or where this is possible.Thanks,Ron.

Flight is based on downloadable packs (DLCs) of aircraft, missions and scenery packages, released by MGS. So their (MS) business model is based on people buying this stuff, to make their $$$.But all previous versions of MSFS (and others like X-plane) have been attractive, because there are thousands of add-ons available. MS even released SDKs to encourage add-ons to be made.That is arguably what keeps interest in FS for such long periods of time after they are released. Just look at the Avsim front page to see that developers are still churning out content for FSX many years after release. What type of device are you using to control MS Flight? Are you new and using the keyboard only, using a console controller, basic joystick (that's me), and if you have the more advanced hardware Siatek and others, or yokes and foot pedals does Flight work with the advanced items such as foot pedals from manufacturers and if so how realistic is it.I am really, really enjoying MS Flight and looking forward to Alaska and the future.I have the low end joystick and can't steer the planes making me crash sometimes on landings or takeoffs, mostly landing going off the runway : )I might have to upgrade to at least a joystick with Twist is what I was told for Alaska and hopefully…

Just took her from Lihue (Kauai) to Honolulu at 12,000 feet, mostly in the clouds, no autopilot..Happy to be back on the ground!

Using the Stearman, is it possible to invert the beast?I am only using Keyboard/Mouse so thinking maybe I need a joystick and switch off auto-coordinate?

The Maule is and has been my favorite plane in FSX. I get this plane, jump in and "WOW"... the freaking Autopilot is non existant. WTH? Rudder deflection makes the plane almost impossible to slip. Also, while I'm at it, how do you access a map when on a job? Where are the VORs?I just paid 20 bucks for the Hawaii scenery and am left scratching my head. IMHO this is not a flight sim anymore. It is a video game.Your thoughts?

Wondering if, without the HI DLC, can you fly to other islands? If so, what is there?

Hi,sorry if this has been answered but I could not find anything using the search function. I see at the XBox Marketplace that two additional products have been added for Flight. They are simply designated as "trial" versions of the Maule and Mustang, but there is no further information I could find pertaining to exactly what this means.Does anyone know? Are they time limited, feature limited, geography limited or a combination of these for example?Thanks

I'm just starting to investigate 'Flight' and can't find the ILS frequencies. I guess the two starter planes can't fly an ILS, but are the frequencies included?

1) I wanted to hate it like everyone else but now dag nabbit, MS has sucked me in! Yes, I am new to posting on Avsim, however I have been coming here for over 5 years now. Figured it was time for me to chime in :smile:No one has posted this and its killing me... I'm running a GTX280 and a older QX9650 Core 2 Quad at 4GHz.Flight on 1920x1080 High setting with Sharpness bumped to maximum.Checked the framerate with Fraps and noticed over Honolulu it could be better.Here's a couple screen shots over the area, one at 18fps the other at 11fps.Just wondering what framerates others are getting in Honolulu area, how best to boost it ?

So I can't turn the Boeing Stearman ( my favorite Flight plane) with my Attack 3 joystick. It works fine in other simulators and have been using it for years to fly tail draggers , trike gear, and even helicopters with it. I know I am cheap about the joystick. Someone on MS Flight in a chat said I had to get the joystick with the twist. I prefer to spend the money on DLC for now (bought the Hawaain Pack) and I am sure I am going to get Alaska if the Price Is Right (game show) :)How come I can't bind the controls in the settings. When I try too it wants to take away the ailerons control and I need both to occur. I know it might not be realistic to have the joystick control…

No matter what way you look at it, MS took a HUGE gamble on changing the basic Flight Sim format. They peeved a LOT of people off, but "hard core" and 3rd party dev's in many of there choices for Flight. I knew that would happen. The question is, did the risk pay off? That I have no idea and I dont think MS will know for a few more weeks. I have been reading a lot of post's not just here, but in a lot of forums. Here is a general "feeling" of what im seeing all over the place.Post's from "hard core" simmers typically land in the "HOW DARE YOU" category. I would be able to see if I could download MS Flight.I've tried a few times and at various times in a 24 hour cycle (only a dedicated flight-sim nut would set their alarm clock for 4-00 am to get up and download). I've never yet got more than 0.40Mb (sometimes only 0.10Mb) of the total 1492.10Mb on the download progress strip, when after a couple of seconds it stops, and doesn't move any further. On two occasions I've waited patiently in this state for 45 minutes or so before cancelling.My mobile broadband connection is fast enough. Works fine with everything else. Although its PAYG, I have enough allowance to cover the total download. Dont know if my UK ISP may be imposi…

I just finished a hoop challenge. Well, almost... After about 25 minutes I was almost past the last hoop after which I had to return to the airport when I saw an aerocache. Just beside the final hoop. I decided to go for it. Now wise since it was dark. At the same moment I passed the last hoop I crashed into the ground, just when the next goal (fly back to the airport) showed up. Shoot.Luckily there are checkpoints, I thought.Wrong. I loaded the checkpoint and within a tenth of a second I crashed again. i just paid for the flight hawaii pack and playing on my laptop...i`m getting a new pc in a couple of weeks...will MS allow me to install the hawaii pack on the pc also....thanks

Seriously, the more I run Flight, the more amazed I am at the quality of the sounds they have in this title.Take off in the Stearman and hit the rudder whilst going down the runway and listed to those tires scrub, man sounds so realistic to me. Well not that I have ever been in a Stearman, much less under those circumstances, but I bet it is pretty close.I have a very good soundsytem anyways, and am very much enjoying the sounds in Flight - especially when the wife is away and I can really crank it up :P .The engine sounds, the change in sound with changes in mixture/prop rpm, in a nose dive, the wind, etc etc. Very nice.

Hi, about 20mins ago i crashed my plane during one of chose silly ring challenges, after i loaded the challenge back up again the camera was in flyby mode which i thought was weird, i tried to change back like normal with Y on my pad then through the F keys on my keyboard and nothing works.Even shut my PC down and restarted the game and it starts in this camera mode every time and there is nothing i can do to get out of this camera mode.Any idea what's causing it?, i appreciate any help.

is it possible to use dual screens to play microsoft flight and have dials on one screen and the flight view from cockpit on a second or something along those lines?thanks

OK, been experimenting with Flight. Did the first two missions, got the free flight menus etc. Checked into LIVE and filled out a bio etc.Restarted Flight to do a free flight, click on flight icon and nothing appears to happen however when viewing my task manager processes I see that flight is running, slowly loading up. Nothing shows on my monitor, then after about 10 minutes all of a sudden the flight main screen shows. Just pops onto my screen.I am loading a flight right now but nothing is showing yet and I can type this post.Anyone have this experience, is this normal? Doesn't seem right. Now what do I do?
