Hi all,I have a question about autoland. I have the PMDG 737-600/700. I know how to do a normal (single channel) ILS landing, but can't figure out how to do an autoland. I've tuned both radios to the same ILS frequency, and set it up for a normal landing, with the "A" autopilot on. But when I press the "B" autopilot (at approx 200 ft AGL), the light comes on, but the "A" autopilot light turns off. I know you need both autopilots on for autoland to work, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Ant suggestions?Thanks,Ron

OK, I think that PMDG 747 is great, but I have a problem. I know how to work with Flight Management Computers, and I haven't had this problem with any other aircraft, but I can't engage VNAV on the 747. I program everything, and when I press VNAV, I get an "unable crz alt" messege. What is wrong?

Hello..Have enjoyed many hours of trouble free flight sim but low and behold....Went to Fly the PMDG 737 and found it would not load but instead get a CTD and a error report.I have had no problems before with this addon and it happened unexpectedly and now consistently. The PMDG 747 works just fine as do my other addon aircraft. Looked in the forums for help but am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated...Regards..TH

hi there,question 1: I can't find the pushpack panel in the VC of the PMDG744? Is this correct?question 2: the DISTANCE value is meters or inches or percent or what? If we suppose a total lenght of the Queen of about 70 meters and I enter 70 and press the middle button (eg distance: 70, angle: 90r) the airplane is pushedbacked anywhere but not the supposed length of a 744. Can't find the relationship between "distance 70", the length of the plane and that what happens when I watch the pushpack in the bird's-eye view. I built my first flightplan in the 744 FMC yesterday from WMKK to WMKL and saved it--or so I thought--by going to clicking on RTE > RTE COPY. I was then unable to find it in the PMDG flightplan folder with the hundreds of pre-built PMDG flightplans afterwards. On closer inspection, I found it had been saved in the PMDG flightplan folder as "-.rte"I then renamed the file manually as WMKKWMKL001.rte, went into the FMC, clicked on RTE > CO ROUTE and entered the whole name string and voila, it re-appeared in the FMC.But this is weird. I thought that the FMC automatically names the flightplan fully and properly, based on the departing/arriving airport names and accord…

I am not certain if this has been asked in the past (i apologize if it has) but i was wondering if it is possible to use a second monitor and put the first officer's view in it so that the panels are active while still having the captain's view in another monitor and having it's panels active as well?if this is possible, what do i need in order to make this happen? i have a fairly basic setup, but have not attached the second monitor yet. i do have two sets of yokes and two sets of rudder pedals so, i would like to put in the copilot's view!thanks,michaeloh yes, this would be with the PMDG 737NG

When on appraoch the 747 captures the localizer but does not capture glideslope and veers to the right and crashes any suggestions on what might be wrong? It is not specific to the airport.

As a passenger I have always marveled at the spiraling departure often used to avoid sfo air traffic when departing ksjcI have attempted to use the fmc to fly this Loupe dep in the 747. to no avail, the fmc cannot seem to understand the spiral nature of the climb and simply flys direct to the fourth waypoint, something norcal dep would not be to happy with Im sure. However the sid in the fmc legs does seem to spell it out fairly well.I realize that 747 do not depart from SJC. I wonder how the 737 pilots would handle and or program this dep. I just tried to load a PMDG pre-made flightplan into the FMC of the 747-400. I have a plan called SYDTPE001.rt2. So I entered that into CO ROUTE and got NOT IN DATABASE. I then tried several other combos, without rt2 and without 001, but same message.Why is this happening?Jonathan

Hello!I own both the PMDG NG and the 747 and I love them both! I have one small complaint for the 747: I find the flash reflection on the glareshield extremely annoying. The Virtual Cockpit would be perfect but for that flash. Could someone at PMDG or anyone else interested be able to fix it? Thanks! :)

I as many others will for sure add the 744F in the Cargolux colours to their fleet once PMDG releases the -400F. THe only thing that bugs me is: there is no good scenery for Luxembourg airport! Neither freeware nor payware. Sure, there is a freeware scenery by Alain Welter, but that looks quite "crude"... and older versions are quite good, but they don't have the new Schengen Pier.So, anyone has any ideas about other LUX sceneries to download, for free or to buy, or in the works?Thanks!Chris

When I am climbing and enter VNAV ALT and level off at the existing MCP ALT, after I enter the new MCP ALT cleared by ATC, I press the ALT button once to revert to VNAV climb. This works. But why do I have this thought going round in my head that if I hit that same white ALT button in some other way, it wipes out the next restriction ahead and above me during a VNAV climb? Jonathan

I've been flying the PMDG 737 for quite some time and enjoy it immensely.In fact, I've had success and my share of time in the LDS 767, PSS Concorde, the Wilco ERJ-145, etc. The only plane I "didn't quite get it" with was Ralph's Panelshop 747-200 for some reason.Anyway, may I ask what kind of learning curve did you experience going from the PMDG 737 NG series to the PMDG 747? Hi,I'd like to program a couple buttons on my CH-Products yoke so I can control reverse thrust and turn autopilot off/on, maybe even use one of my buttons for the zoom in/out feature. Is this possible through FS9? I looked at the button programming list, etc., but did not see any way I can control the reverse thrust from my yoke instead of holding down the F2 button. I thought I'd ask the group before futzing with the settings....other wise I might be back on here asking for help fixing what I "broke" :-lol THanks!Dr. Foo

I've spent about 2 mos. hand flying the Queen without doing an FMC flight. Today I hand-programmed a flight with a lot of wp, short, about 260nm, 550K lbs ToW.I just landed at Langkawi, ex-WMKK, on 744 in MAS colors. Unbelievably successful first FMC flight. Everything was 100% right from start to finish in VNAV+LNAV. Thrust reduction, accel alt, waypoint nav, descent, VTK adjusted to perfect, ILS auto tuned to destination rwy, crabbed in heavy x-breez in, kicked the rudder at flare, tremendous, wow!Superb work, PMDG. Hi captains!i was wondering if someone could give me some tips on a derated takeoff and more importantly the climb.Ok my example was situated at EGLL , WOD2F departure off of runway 27R with Flaps 20. Now my aircraft weight sits at 362.5 approx, for this i used no weather and no wind and a default +15C temp. I used a take off performer based on my weight and calculated 52 degrees as my assumed temperature, that i inserted into the FMC. The FMC chose "CLB" as a default, which i did not change.Ok so my first point was to reach Burnham NDB at 3000ft or above. i fired down the runway and rotated nicely with enough runway to spare and began my climb. Today i bought and installed the PDMG 737NG, but..In the cockpit all screens are black; no autopilot, no FMC, no navigation, etc. On the overhead everything seems to work, according to manuals and checklist Cold and Dark, engine running, i am able to fly with the aircraft, etc, but screens remain black, even started with cessna only with avionics on and changed to PDMG 737, same result. From PDMG i get an automated answer about 747-400 and fs9.cfg Windows XPAMD 3000+1024 Mb memory,videocard 64 MBFsuipc 3.53FS9 All my other aircraft are working ok. Please help.

Hi there,i wonder if any of you can help me - i've got the amazing 747-400 package from PMDG, and i'm currently trialling FS Navigator, and was wondering if there is a way of uploading a saved Navigator Flightplan into the FMC of the PMDG aircraft. I've heard that it might be possible to do this if you use FS Build, but have been unable to find conclusive evidence that it is/is not possible with Navigator.Anyone out there who can clear this up for me, and also provide an explanation of how to go about it, will get huge kudos from me!!thanks in advance...
