Hi guys could you confirm that once the -F is released that the PAX version will be automatically updated when you install the -F upgrade?It's just that on some posts (by BigAl) he is stating the PAX version will not have these new features when the -F is released - is this true?Thanks, John.

Does anyone have a technique for determining the destination landing runway in use? It would be nice to have the FMC fully programmed from the get-go. Quite a few times I've been distracted by changing the arrival runway info in the FMC while less than 30 miles out, which has at times led to some interesting manouvers.

I find that I can undock and move the B744 overhead 2D panel to a separate monitor without first checking the PMDG pull-down menu item, so I'm not sure what all that means? Can someone enlighten me as to what the issues are with the overhead being undocked and moved, and what that pull-down menu item actually does ? Also-I don't see a pull-down menu item for the radio or throttle panels, and wonder if they are moveable at all (although I seem to be able to move them OK by undocking, to a separate monitor???).Thanks.Bruce.

With the forthcoming cargo version will there be an updated manual? The reason I am asking is I want to print out all the pdfs I have so I can learn the systems etc but I dont want to have to do it again in 3months if the cargo version is updatedthanksGraham

HiI have mapped a key for these in the pmdg/options/keyboard/747doors. Buth both the cargo and upper deck doors don't open. I can open both sides of the main deck doors ok,Any ideas ?Many thanksSteve

Hi,if I know correctly the textures of the NG planes aren't in dxt3 format. As my pc isn't the the fastest (and I'm completely satisfied with the quality of the dxt3 textures), I'd like to know if there is a simple tool for converting the textures. G'Day guys,Just a few months ago I got this wizz bang top of the line Dell computer, everything worked fine - smooth as anything FPS. Until I was flying around with the PMDG 744 the other day and it seems to be periodically jamming like every 2 or so minutes for around 1 or 2 seconds. Any clues as to what the problem is would be much appreciated! Its definately not the computer hardware itself as the problem only occurs with the PMDG 744 and only whilst Airbourne!Cheers

Hey guys.I fly w/o the virtual cockput to save frames, but I sometimes enjoy being able to "look back" from the 2d panel and see the wings/slats/engines.I own the 737ng, and you cannot see the wings, unless you are in the virtual cockpit.. then you just scroll around and there they are. this is what i want.I try and do the same thing for the 747, and I can seem to find the wings, unless I go to a spot camera, which is not what i want to do.Anyways around this, am i missing something?thanksdan h

I noticed that on mainly departure procedures where a sharp turn is required near a waypoint, the anticipated turn causes the path not to overfly that waypoint but merge with the leg path. I am just wondering if the bank angle limit on the main panel is considered in that calculation along with airspeed in order to get closer to the waypoint which has a narrower deviation in a DP then when enroute.737NG.

I've just upgraded my PMDG 700/600 to 800/900, unfortunately this create problem. My CDU does not display anything, it comes out blank. I try to press the key, it seems the FMC working, cause the execute light key sometimes light up. I have changed the foreground color thru the PMDG style menu, did not solve the problem. Can anyone help me :(

Hi,I seem to have a problem with my Lnav in that when I take off on a planed route, the aircraft will follow the route untill it gets to the fist waypoint and then it will no longer follow the course, and just drift off.I have programed the FMC ok but it just wont follow up to the second waypoint no matter what I try? Have I missed something?The first time I used the 747-400 it worked ok, but only once.Somehow something has changed, I have even uninstalled it but this has no effect..Mark..

I have installed the PMDG 1900D twice and have the same problem. In the VC panel, the Altimeter and VSI are only about 1/2 their height, giving an oval shape. The 2D panel is fine, along with the default King Air 2D and VC panel.Any ideas on a resolution for this?Thanks!Marty

I hope I don't get into trouble for enquiring, and I know that PMDG staff are busy working on the "big" projects, but what has happened to the PMDG Express line? Will there still be future "simple" products produced or has that idea been killed off by development costs?I ask because I understand the huge development time required for the complex airliner projects, and I thought the idea of the "Express" line was to enable PMDG to bring products to market relatively quickly, that were easy to jump in and fly. The Beech 1900 planes are great but it seems that the gap between Express product releases is almost as long as the heavy iron :-)Keep up the good work, and I hope 20…

I had just flown the 747 out of Torino for Reykjavik and when I touched down, I opened the reversers but they didn't want to stay open. In the VC, the handles would move back a little and then forward. As soon as I let go of F2, they would close up on the outside. (They would open fully from outside the aircraft.) Geeze, leave it to me to have everything fixed and then have to come back with yet another situation. Sorry to keep bothering you guys but I need help with something I've never experienced.I had a flight all set up everything looked good in the FMC/MCP/OHD panel, etc...I was at the start of RWY 25R at LAS, I had the AT armed, the FD on and advanced the thrust levers to about 40%, after the engines stabilized, I pressed the TOGA button and away I went down the runway, speed picking up nicely, N1 active, then THR HLD and I was about halfway down the runway and then all of the sudden my engines went to idle. Hi Captains,can anybody help me? E.g. when ATC tells one to "Fly Runway Heading until 2500 then turn 30 degrees away from Center of Airport..." at this point the FMC should be allready programmed, so I don't wonna change the data anymore.So when I takeoff I use the Heading Hold Button and e.g. set 5000ft on the MCP. Autopilot active within seconds.Minutes later, I want to get back to the programmed profile of the FMC. How can I switch to VNAV/LNAV? Sometimes these buttons do not activate the desired modes, the PFD continues to show ALT and HDG HOLD. The 744 doesn't follow the programmed FMC-path, either.How can I reactivate the FMC-data or make the VNAV/LNAV-buttons work …
