It works good, and I would like bigger and more realistic plane as 736's dont even fly in europe. I'm pretty much limited to pmdg737's for performance considerations. So I won't buy any other addons anyways.

Is the 738's flight model and overall feeling so different to 736 that it would be worth of 60e?

I want to do the same in MSFS and could use some help. I see the format has changed and is now a SQL database, and after looking around the file, I think I have a general idea of how it's set up and what I need to do to add my own procedures into the database; however, there are a few columns I am confused about what to put. For example,  I plan to create my own waypoints that are not in the database using coordinates from Google Earth. I see some waypoints have a code of K1, K2, and so on, and I am not sure what code I would need to put for the waypoints.

The other columns I need help with are:

Usage

Route Type

waypoint description

Path Termination.

 

Does anyone know what I need to put in the various columns I listed?

After Sim Update 14, second engine does not start or spools up though APU is running and first engine starts without any issue. In order to ensure smooth experience, I uninstalled through clean uninstall using external software but to no avail. Evenafter that second engine doesn't start at all. With single engine running, PMDG behaves weirdly like rolling to left or right instead of going straight for take off. I am clueless after extensive search. I posted this in another forum but sadly did not receive any response, I am using FSX SP1 and SP2, my graphic card is AMD Radeon HD6800 series with the most latest driver being in 2015 as it is an old Graphic card.  However please see the photo, as you can see the text looks compacted, for example the ground speed, "GS" the font looks squashed along with the readout of the wind direction "090".  I would be very grateful for any help.

I've tried to first update the OC , pausing windows defender , firewall , anti-virus while reinstalling the aircraft and updating but all were in vain !

I know p3d is now over but I hope someone knows the solution

The guidance and hints in most forums did not help. However the problem has been solved and I would like to share my experience.

The problem started whilst running Prepar3Dv5.4.9 together with PMDG's B777 aircraft. So I started with that as baseline. Here are the steps I took with the results recorded for each step:

1. I ran the computer with no main apps running at all - so no P3D and no PMDG. The computer ran perfectly for 12 hours.

2. I did a comparison run with MSFS2020 running - again no failures at all after 7.5 hours.

3. I completed a "repair" of P3D (Having repaired P3D Professional, I actually had to re-download all 'content' files in order to repair P3D Content as well). When I next tried to load the PMDG B777 I got a message informimg me that I needed to activate the B777 Base Package. To do this I had to re-download the files from PMDG. However, I then ran into another problem: the downloads now work from a 'pop-up' (I was unaware of this - thank you Iwebber on this forum). I found that my browser pop-up blocker was active and blocking the download. I rectified this in my browser settings uner 'Security and Privacy'. I was also advised (Thanks to the good folks (thank you Chris M!) at PMDG) to go to "msc.services" and to ensure that "FlexNet Licensing Services 64" was set to 'Automatic' - mine was set to 'Disabled' (again, who knew?!).

Having completed all the above, I then ran and completed a flight from EGLL to CYYZ successfully, with no hiccups.

I believe the problem can occur with other computer 'games' and apps. If so, it should be possible to follow the generic approach suggested by the above to achieve a solution.

Hopefully this will be of help to others who have experienced this DWM.exe failure/crash.

Have a really "noobie" question, that I will try to make it as less dumb as I can... 🙂

For the 737 family, I see that PMDG developed and sells 4 different models, -600, -700, -800, and -900.

I know that of course there are differences between them in real life, the most obvious being size. 

So part 1: besides the size, what exactly are (just the main points of) those differences in real life? I would guess to start size, range, etc?

Now part 2... I also see that these 4 have completely different prices (save -800 and -700 that are the same). Is there any logical reason for the pricing to be this disparate based on the modelling/coding/whatever? Like why is the -600 almost half of the -700/-800? Is it a cutdown version?  I can see that if it were an add-on requiring a base model (like some others they had for P3D), but these all seem to be standalone. (and conversely, any logical reason why they are all standalone instead of a base and add-ons to make it a bit more affordable?)

Disclaimer: looking for any logical reason anyone might think of/know of besides "that is just the developer's whim (which is valid of course, it's their choice to sell at whatever).

What do I do? Load a B737 PMDG in a random airport. Go to the FMC and make just 1 adjustment in the simulation chapter. This triggers the file `737_Options.ini` to be changed in over 130 lines. A fresh ini file consists of only these lines `[IRS.0]
LastPosValid=0
[IRS.1]
LastPosValid=0´
The file '737_Options.ini' can be found here: "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work"

Leave the flight and load another plane (to unload the previous one) into a new flight. In the meanwhile I add these lines to the mentioned ini  file.

This enables me to get data in my external FMC (tablet) from the PMDG737 (theoretically). I use Axis and Ohs for this.

Load the previous PMDG 737 again in a flight. Helas it never comes to that. Always freezes and crashes. I can't even see the yellow Fly button, the sim just freezes and crashes.
I always update Windows, Nvidia drivers, and subsequently refresh all cache files from the pc. Still use addons like GSX, FS Realistic because I can not do without these addons.

Am I missing something or is this something that is planned to be implemented?  I know the 747 for P3D has it, and I'm pretty sure the 737 had it, but don't see it in MSFS.

I have gone through the tortuous PMDG website trying to find out how to re-download the B777 Base Package after a re-install of Prepar3Dv5.4.

I have got to My Previous Orders, so have all the order information and licence keys. I then open my B777 Base Package order, and click on 'Download Product'. A new window opens with a window asking me to click on 'Send Verification Code', which I do. I then receive a code via e-mail. I enter the code in the box provided, and then .......... nothing. Nothing happens at all - no download, notthing.

Anyone know the solution?

  • I have run the Operations Center as administrator.
  • I have uninstalled all PMDG aircraft and re-downloaded the installers within an hour ago. 
  • I download windows Visual Studio 2010 x86 redistributable file, when run I was told that I had a more up to date version of the module. 
  • I have shut Win Defender down and excluded the Ops Ctr from being scanned. 
  • There is no other anti-virus running. 

Currently only have PMDG 737NGX installed:

P3D v3 - 1.20.8413 

P3D v4 - 1.20.8413

I am trying to configure axis #6 on the Honeycomb Bravo for flaps with detents using the Pro Desk Sim 737 hardware add-on. It has been a few days working on this. I cannot get it to work correctly.

John gave me advice to try and still nothing works as it should. 

Today, I took off the add-on hardware and simply moved the lever forward and back. In FSUIPC it registers -16384 and 16384. Flaps 0 and flaps 40 is not an option after initial movement unless I click on the flap lever to move it to those positions. I get movements to flaps 1 to flaps 30 only. 

I tried my FSLabs A320 settings in FSUIPC that has detents assigned and it works fine. This seems to be a PMDG issue. Any suggestions for this to work?
