    Hi All,I've just started using the PMDG sim, and I'm having trouble activating the TOGA button on the throttle quadrant. Placing the cursor on the buttons and clicking has no effect. Also no resulting A/T FMA indication.Also cannot activate A/T once airborne by cycling the A/T switch while in VNAV or puching THR or SPD.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,I read the manual, chapter 9, about the AFMS, and I'm left with a couple of questions.1) The AFDS MCP section mentions two FD switches, but I can only see one. Are there really two?2) All the buttons and controls are identified and explained with the exception of the course knob. How does it differ from the heading knob? 2a) When I take off on say runway 34, I'd like to set the number to 341 degrees, but is it the heading or the course? (The tutorial uses ambiguous language)2b) Before selecting APP and then VOR/LOC, the manual says at a minimum to set right ILS frequency and set the course. Is it the course, the heading, or both?Thanks!Derekb

    I have recently being using flight plans to navigate from 1 airport to the next, I downloaded the demo version of FS Navigator.Created a flight from Dublin Airport (Ireland) to Heathrow Airport (UK). I then chose autoroute from FS Nav. I then exported the flight plan to PMDG route file, and also exported it to FS2004 Flight Plan.My first Question is:=====================If I use a flight plan to file an IFR flight with ATC and also setup the FMC at the same time with the same route, as soon as I take off, ATC vector me away from the waypoints on the FMC and then I just end up flying to what the FS2004 ATC tell me to do, which is never anything like the FMC setup.     ok 1 I set up for a cat III laning and when I am following my star and my intersections require me to be at a lower level it does not automatically go down , this is when I have the alt restrictions in place in my FP. Also at this time the check or reset mcp alt goes on in my FMC. Does anyone have a tutorial on Cat 3 landings? Thanks

    I have a number of questions about this wonderful sim and I intend to ask tham one at a time.I like starting with a dark cockpit and getting it all going. However when I start with the standard dark cockpit at KPSA I am unable to align the IRS. I have tried settings 0 Sec., 15 sec., and the standard 10 minutes and the alignment never succeeds in getting the IRS units to work. The aligning symbols appear but no luck.The instructions say switch directly to NAV. What do the Align and ATTR(Have I go that right?) do?I get the aircraft going alright, engines running take off etc. all done on the FMS and I have sucessfully run several flights.Any ideas about what I am doing wron…

    Can someone explain to me please why we can't use the go flight MCP Pro for the PMDG 744? Could it be used for the PMDG 737?Doesn't the 744 have a key map and so does GF I think. The only issue then is the display.. how would we direct the PMDG numbers to go to the GF MCP.Hmmmmmm.....Manny

    Hi all,Yesterday I did an online flight (on the PMDG 737-700) into Boston. Most of the flight went well, until the final approach. I was too high (well, not me---the plane....lol) and asked for a go-around, which I was given. ATC told me to fly rwy heading and climb to 3000ft. I hit the TOGO button, but then seemed to lose control of the plane. It wouldnt turn as i wanted, and the altitude hold, lvl chg, and v/s inputs didnt seem to do anything. I wasnt usubg LNAV/VNAV at that point, only the MCP. I was climbing extremely rapidly, and only when I disenguaged the AP was I able to (temporarily) control it. So, any ideas what I did wrong?     Hey all,Tonight I tried to do a KABQ-KLAX run, using a PMDG 737-700. The routing (via SimRoutes) was LARGO2 ZUN J6 DRK J10 TNP.PDZ4I was approved for this by clr delivery, but when I tried loading it into the FMC, I got an error msg when I tried entering the "J10" -via- part of it. So, I just entered -direct- to TNP, but then when I went to the STARS for KLAX, PDZ4 wasnt one of the options. Yesterday I had a similar problem out of KMCO.     Hi guys, I'm looking for people who use OFplanner to help in their flights on the B744. I just need to see if this problem is consistent with everyone, or if it is internet speed related. Can any of you try loading a transpacific or transatlantic routing on the planner by going the STORED ROUTES SECTION. Do a search for all stored flight plans for RPLL to KSFO. Pick one (these are both creations of mine). Aircraft loadout is up to you. ALTN1 is KLAX. No need for RDA's.     Having trouble getting the queen to transit from VNAV CRUISE to VNAV DESCENT. I was under the impression that if you select DES NOW, prior to reaching TOD, the aircraft will maintain 1000fpm and TGT speed until intercepting the idle descent profile.But when I try to execute an early descent, the engines wind back to idle, the aircraft pitches down and the descent profile indicator races up. Next the aircraft levels off, and the speed falls back to just above 250Kts. Then the engines scream up to CRZ limit in order to regain the speed, and the aircraft maintains level flight until intercepting the profile.What am I doing wrong?????????????????Martin Neep.

  13. On descent into WMKL, I had a wp D2080 set for 180/3000 and beyond that wp cd03 set for 170/2200. I decided to HOLD at D2080 so I set the hold function up, but as I went into the hold, the 744 continued to descend below 3000. I suddenly realized that the MCP ALT was set to 2200. Will the a/c typically descend to the MCP ALT even with a hold set as I prepared it? The second time I re-flew this pre approach hold, I set MCP ALT to 3000, and all went well as I entered the hold and the ALT held to 3000.During the hold, the FMC BEST SPEED annunciated was 230.   14. Hi all.I'm a happy user of several complex add-ons, incl. the ATR and the LDS767. I really enjoy the 767, but given time real-world time constraints, I tend to fly shorter routes more appropriate for a 737. (I also fly Westjet alot in the real world, so...).   15. ...you down-select it first to the FMC scratchpad and then up-select it back to the place where it is already displayed in the NavRad page. On loading a saved flight, the ILS freq/crs is displayed properly and with an "A" as well, but there is no ILS displayed in the PFD or ND at that time.     In reading the example KSFO-KIAD flight in the PMDG747 Cruise and Fuel Planning example (page 2-14), is there an error in correction for planned landing weight different than 475,000 lb? The example adds 7x880=6,160 lb for the heavier weight; shouldn't it be 4 times this because the trip is estimated to take 4 hours?More generally, Felice Valente's Fule Planner v2.01 seems to give much higher estimated miles when the 475,000 lb correction is added.I am somewhat confused and am also not sure if the Progress Page in the FMC seems to me to also be giving a different fuel estimate at the destination.Any help from more knowledgable people would be very much appreciated!Tom

    Downloaded the 0513 AIRAC cycle, and now PMDG747 won't work. I can start MSFS, but when I go to load the 747 there is a long pause, and then a message says: "Flight simulator 9, A Century of Flight has encountered a problem and has to close. sorry for any inconvenience???????????????" What have I done wrong? The reason I wanted to update the navigation database, is because i've found that more and more fixes are missing from charts that I have which are up to date.     Hi All, I have been trawling throught the PMDG forum on avsim looking for advice on wing views. It is apparent that you have to use a ddon prog to obtain such views. The two main progs mentioned are active cam and Walk and Follow. I have been on W & F web site and downloaded the trial but i cannot stop the camera from cycling round. So in an attempt to give W & F a fair chance i thought i'd ask if anyone has got it and how functional is it? The support forum on the DBS site is for registered users only so i cannot pose a question there.CheersDaren ??? ;)
