Hey Mates!I just wanted to ask one of the professionals...What is the "usual" amount of Cargo Load (Fwd/Aft) carried by the 737-800 on a normal route.or:How much Cargoweight is calculated per Pax?I think 10 Tons of Cargo ist way to much for a normal flight with 150 Pax or so...am i right?Maybe some of you have detailed information? Thanks alot!Thomas

Gents,Have any of you experienced the following, and if so, have any of you found a reason/workaround for it? On VATSIM last night, we were vectored away from our planned LNAV path for spacing. We were passing 14,000 for 7,000 on a heading of 358 degrees, when ATC asked us to take a right turn to a heading of 140 degrees. We proceeded to turn the heading bug to the right for the new assigned radar heading, and pressed the HDG button. With HDG SEL on the FMA, instead of turning right, she made her way to the left. Very disconcerting to the ATC controller who chastised me for endangering others in ZLA aerospace. I could not get her to turn right using the HDG SEL mode…

I've been thoroughly enjoying all the TRC's and the advanced-tutorial recently published for the 747. My question is, if I want to use a specific derate such as the 5 or 15% defaults, how can I tell if the assigned runway is going to be long enough, especially at high TOW? I couldn't find a chart in the manual to address this. Is there a thumb-rule or trick to address this?Thanks...AL | KCHS - Charleston AFB/Intl | USAF 437AW (~53 C-17's)FS9/Game Rig:AMD64-4000+ SanDiego OC=210/420/2520 | Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe | Corsair TwinX2048-3200C2PT (2x1GB) 2.5-3-3-8/[email protected] | Evga NV 7900GT v84.56 (1280x1024x32/4xAA/16xAF/High-Quality) | Enermax 550W PSU | Thermalright XP-120(mm) …

I like the idea of signing your posts with not only your name but your airport I.D. below your name. What do others on this forum think about that? For example:JackKGSP

There seem to be no engine sounds on my 747. All other cockpit sounds seem to be working but when I switch to external view it sounds exactly the same as in the cockpit. When I push throttles all the way forward there is no change in sound(cockpit or external). Sound doesn't change with thrust reversers either. In the PMDG menu/Options/Sounds I have all boxes checked. I really don't like having such quiet engines. Any idea what could be wrong?

Hi,I changed a few terrain settings in my fs9.cfg file. After doing that I loaded up the PMDG744 and programmed the FMC but it would not accept any crz altitude. No matter what number I inserted, the FMC gave me the message, "unable crz alt". I put 40tons of fuel in her for the short leg Adelaide to Melbourne, did everthing as per usual, but couldn't insert crz altidude in the perf page. As a result I had to make the flight without vnav. Can fs9.cfg affect PMDG aircraft at all if altered? CheersTristan

My latest SIDSTAR Update, for KABQ Albuquerque Intl Sunport, includes my attempt to reproduce a procedure turn. The hard constraint I haven't found a workaround for is that it must be flown at 210KIAS; otherwise, it seems to be working at least as well as I can handfly one (or better depending on winds). Anyway, it is included only on approach transitions that require it: ILS08 ABQ transition, NDB35 ILT transition and VOR08 ABQ transition. One word of caution, VNAV will insert 250KT in spite of speed constraints after every leg in the text file... so I set MCP speed control to hold 210KT at the IAF until on the final approach course. Any feedback on how this works for oth…

Hi, I'm new to the PMDG 737-800... I was flying the 738 from KDEN to KMCO and the engines shut down about 2/3 through the flight (out of gas). The fuel supply had been exhausted in the right and left tanks, but the center tank was still full and had not been touched. The pumps were on for all three tanks, even tried the cross feed switch... nothing worked. i ended up just setting for unlimited fuel so I could finish the flight. What did I miss?Mr T

Hi all,The other question.A friend of mine and myself have been trying to work out when etc and what decision heights and the aircraft calling out "minimums" they use in the real world? We saw a table like this, please read on below------------------------->> Just trying the HK approaches and noticed some are Cat 2 and others Cat 3. >> Anybody knows what the difference is between ILS Cat 2 and Cat 3, and are >> there any others such as Cat 1 or maybe Cat 4?>>The differences between Cat I through CAT III are visibility/ceiling>minimums. I stole this chart off the web:>>Type Ceiling Visibility >============================…

Dear PMDG,it seems there is a small problem with the keybinds in the 747.The buttons 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 are not working with the Force3 Pro in the 747. They do work in the 737NG.I use button 7 to disengage the Autopilot, and button 8 to disengage the Autothrottle. They are handy to use while on final approach. Cuz then you wont have to press CTRL+R or something real fast to disengage it.How come those buttons are not working in the 747, but do work in the 737?I have the latest drivers for my Joystick! Thanks in advance.

Wow, how one forgets with time and a different a/c! (too much PMDG 744!)Anyway, for AUTOLANDing the NG, I think I tune the Nav 1 to the arrival ILS runway first and arm the MCP LoC function; then when I'm on the LoC, I arm the APP function; then I tune Nav 2 to the same ILS freq; then after GS capture, and somewhere before 800' RA, I activate the second AP. Then I am in "Dual Channel" mode (?) and ready for arrival and T/D.Prior to landing in Autoland mode, I position the thrust levers on my CH throttle quad to idle position so that the NG speedbrake will activate on T/D (after arming it of course!).Have I got it right?Jonathan

What is the correct way to disconnect the power in aborting a t/o in the Queen? I usually have to unclick the A/T button first and then pull back the throttles. Is this correct for the sim?(Just curious, but how does it work in real life?)Jonathan

I am considering purchasing the 1900C as I have enjoyed the 1900D for quite a while now. I was just wondering if the 1900C has working windshield wipers? I noticed how it was stated that there is a bunch of refinements and whatnot over the 1900D and wanted to know if this was one of them.I must admit, I almost feel bad for asking about a trivial feature considering the model is such an amazing deal! If the windshield wipers are not a feature of the model is it possible to add it later in an update or has the 1900C development "ran it's course" so to speak? Thanks and keep up the great work PMDG!:)

>I assume the first colume is the>climb limit and the second colume is the runway weight limit. No, the reverse is true. Go to PMDG's wiki-pedia and the assumed temperature takeoff is explained there, with an example. I put all the tables there.Hi Michael,Thanks for posting these at PMDG Ops, but I have something I want to clarify with you. Are you sure the reverse it true? At the top of these charts, it says C-Limit in the first colume and Weight in the second colume next to it going from left to right. In other words, C Limit is on the left and Weight is on the right in these two columes. I think the C means Climb. I want to clarify this because it doesn't look to …

Nineteen Cycle 0606 compliant procedures combined into one collection is in the AVSIM Flight Plans library (cycle0606_sidstars.zip). The few significant changes issued this cycle are KBWI has a new RNAV arrival RAVNN1, KLAS BASET2 changed to BASET3 with new constraints and the new runway at KSTL now has a RNAV approach RNV11. I made a few tweeks to all the files, which include: KAUS KBNA KBWI KDAL KDEN KHOU KLAS KLAX KMCO KMDW KOAK KPHL KPHX KSAN KSJC KSLC KSMF KSTL & KTUS. These are procedures originally created by Terry Yingling in a translation from DAFIF data and what I have done is manipulate them higher realism that provided by the data source. Each file has a l…

Hi allI have just bought and installed the 737 and I must say althoughit's great plan I am having lots of problems withit.Could somebody please suggest some help with the following issues1 The flight plan does not reload on restarting a saved flight-infact the plane is no where near the desired position.2 Although I plan a IFR flight the ATC does not recognise this and logs it as VFR-this has happened in all the 3 flights I have planed. I have to replan in flight for the IFR. I hope some one can help me with and I look forward to your help. Beans
