When flying the 747 and setting #1 and #2 engine failures before V2, I run into many problems, even though I am following the manual's instructions. At flaps 20, 2/3 fuel load, the two engines fail just before V2. After breaking contact with the ground, the aircraft starts to slowly climb (as expected). At this point, I retract the gear and start rudder trimming away from the failed side. At full rudder trim, the plane still banks and aileron input is required. At this point the aircraft will not hold V2 and begins to descend and stall, eventually crashing into the ground.Now, I'm well below MTOW, so the 744 should fly with two engines out. A horrible crash occured today at Shanghai's HONGQIAO International Airport. The airplane, a Boeing 747-400, can be considered a total loss. Miraculously, no people were killed during the disaster.The pilot, Mr Gert Wijbrans, declared, "I was doing a standard landing. All three autopilots were engaged, everything looked normal. Flare and rollout mode were armed. Flaps were set at 30, speed was at 149 knots - VREF + 5. Then at the moment of landing, the nose suddenly came down too fast at the runway, resulting in the loss of the aircraft. Landing weight was at approx. 562k pounds, so well within structural limits. I hope that sacred md-11 that the pmdg it is making respects to 100% the md-11 real, more than the other I refer to the wings strobes lights, because those of the 747-400 are not like 747 the real one, they seem that they have a short circuit problem. The wings strobes lights of the md-11 have a flashes of 3 times then 1 time 3 times then 1 time ... continuous during the operations... and they reflect on the fuselage On my real life during my trips i fly with only md-11 into intercontinetal flights from year 1992 , and i'm veteran like passenger of this type aircrafts .... Hi guys!I have a problem with the V-speeds of the B747-400 and also the F version. The problem happens since I fly online on VATSIM. When I flew offline I always lined up, hold short on the runway and then began the takeoff (V-speeds confirmed, A/T armed, manually to N1 70% and then the TOGA button, everything went fine!). Online I often get the takeoff clearance while taxiing and then I begin the takeoff roll without an additional stop on the runway. Then the awful thing happens. When trying to engage A/T with the TOGA button suddenly all V-speeds are deleted. My only chance is to reconfirm the V-speeds during the takeoff roll. Shouldn

Hello, I have searched the forum fo an answer to this question, but couldn't find a solution. I will explain this as best as I can. I like to fly often between EGNX and EIDW. When I first install the 737, I sit at the gate at EGNX and sort the FMC.For EGNX, it gives me rwys 27 and 9 available. Which is correct. Of course, there are no SID's yet , because I haven't intalled the all in one pack from navdata. I get the pack installed, which includes EGNX and EIDW. Once the pack is installed, I get errors for both egnx and eidw, and no rwys available for either airport (bearing in mind, I had rwys available before i install the pack)Many airports are fine, I get rwys, and sid…

Hi,I have recently re-installed my PMDG 737 however when i select the aircraft from the FS menu and fly it, my keyboard becomes INOP. This only affects the PMDG 737, if i then load another A/C my keyboard becomes operational again.Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the cause?Thanks,Brandon

Gentlemen,ever since I installed the freighter version of the 400, initation of a go-around using the "TOGA screw" on the MCP causes MSFS to crash to desktop in better than 50% of cases (AP on in all cases).This is true of the freighter and the PAX version, even though I never had this problem with the PAX version before I installed the freigher version. I've observed the problem both with the initial release and the 1.01 update of the freighter.What am I doing wrong and/or how can I fix this?Thank you,H. Peter Stassen

Hello All,I'm flying now the PMDG 737NG for a while. But i have an question about the QNH setting.When i fly from EHAM (Amsterdam), When I'm at the gate I always first press "B" for the local QNH setting for example 1005.Then i setup the FMC and fill in 3000ft Transition Altitude in the PERF.After take-off and passing 3000ft (TA) i press on the baro button for standard QNH 1013, but it remains in the local QNH. After passing 18000ft and i press the Baro button it jumps to standard QNH 1013Do i something wrong?, because in the FMC i set 3000ft TA ??RegardsRaymond

Hi,Love the PMDG product line, I am licking my lips thinking about the new prodcuts that you guys will be comming out with soon, Its amazing to think that your new products can get any better than the 747-400, but I am sure that they will. But compliments asside, I have one problem with the 737NG (600/700) that does not occure with the 800/900. The Top of Decent point that the FMC calculates is normally 400 miles from the destination. This seems to me to be far to early to start any decent. Is this realistic, or is there a problem??ThanksSheahan

I have problem on the followings and looking for some advises1. For very long waypoint with A/P, e.g. NAT 5050N - 5140N - .....which is 300nm+, the plane fly off the centre line and deviate as large as 30nm+, is it normal?2. Hi. I recently purchased and installed the 747F. The problem is that before this installation I was getting 40+ frames per second in all views with all my planes, which include PMDG 737-600-900, 747, and the Turboprob, and the Level-D 767ER. My queen was patched to 1.1 before I installed the F models. Now inside flight simulator when I have the 747 loaded with the 2D panel(I have the 3d turned off), I get 10 fps tops, yet in all other views I get 45 to 50. Should I reinstall? All models work properly except for this fps prob with the 2D panel. My display settings aren't even maxed although I could. I was thinking about lowering the panel update but honesty I don't …

I thought I remember reading that you could program the TO/GA button to one of the buttons on your joystick but I can't figure out how to do it. Was I dreaming? Anybody know how to do it or if it's possible? Owen

New upload to NAVData and AVSIM Flight Plans libraries...Cycle 0605 PMDG SIDSTAR file by Terry Yingling revised 6/03/2006 by Dan Downs for KBNA Nashville Intl. Added missing DP TITAN1, which is a generic vectors departure but all departure fixes are included. Added turboject altitude constraint and vectors command to STARS. Deleted duplicated or triplicated copies of IAPs. Added missing ILS02C. All RNAV IAPs edited and added all transitions shown on charts. All procedures originally distributed in Cycle 0605 are included in this file.

On both the 744 and 737NG, I use the FMC to set and gather required takeoff info. During takeoff, I rotate at Vr, and in an attempt not to overshoot the climbout target speed of V2 +10, is pull up not very quickly, but quickly enough to interecept the speed, about 3 degress per second, and I get a stick shaker. Is this normal? I wouldn't think a stick shaker would come up during a climbout.

So my question is:Where is the "wheel" to calibrate the FMC's suggested CG in the Virtual Cockpit of a PMDG's 747-400?I can't find anything in the Virtual Cockpit that influences the green StabTrim-band indicator. - Where is the hotspot of it?- Is there a work-around well known?- And: if I ignore the FMC's CG calculation (cause I can't find the hotspot): what are the consequences to the flight?regards,Volker
