I appreciate that this could be considered a very minor issue and one that is probably as about as high on PMDG's fixes as sorting out the problem with cats in the U.K suffering from cold's but,The tail strobe is perfectly scored however the wing strobes are so irratic it's amazing.Now, I've watched plenty of 744's over the years and regardless of their operator they're a lot more timed than on this model.And before I'm berated, I love this bird, the only thing I fly and I'm clocking up hours like no tomorrow.Just wondered if there would be anyway of mapping the strobes on the wing to be more realistic?Cheers.Mark.P.S: Armen, don't get involved, or I may have to pop down …

File swa_shorthops_0606.zip in the AVSIM FS2004-Flight Plans library contains five SWA flights currently being flown by the -700. Each flight contains three or four segments, none longer than 1.7 hrs and most less than 1 hr. I have included a FS9 *.pln and PMDG *.rte file for each segment. Flights include: SWA333 (ABQ-HOU-BNA-BWI); SWA757 (ELP-PHX-SNA-OAK); SWA863 (MAF-HOU-JAN-BWI); SWA1162 (OAK-SAN-ELP-HOU) & SWA2510 (GEG-SEA-SJC-SAN-ABQ). Actual flightplans currently found on flightaware were used to build the routes, and gate times from the SWA schedule are provided in an accompaning text file.

Hello, I am new here, and I think that PMDG-737 is probably the best aircraft for FS2004 nowadays.I started with the 737-600-700. It was wonderful. So, after some weeks of flying it I decided to purchase the 800-900 update.I had a lot of trouble with the download, but at last I did it.When the update was finally installed and I loaded the aircraft I had continuous crashes of FS9.The problem was partially solved deleting the FS9.cfg file, but the second time I loaded the PMDG-737 FS9 crashed again. Then a new deletion of FS9.cfg was needed, and new crashes of FS9 happened. I was desperate !!But I had an idea: I first loaded another aircraft (the default Cessna-172) and aft…

Hi allThis is the second week since I bought the 737 800/900 and I need some more help from you great sim pilots out there.Could somebody please either tell me or point me to what the flap settings are on approach/landing and what are the best speeds for setting flaps from 1 to 40. I am finding that when I set the flaps sometimes the plane starts to climb even though the alt. is set or when on finals when I increase the setting from say 30 to 40 I get problems again.Normanly I start increasing flap settings at 240nm/hr,about 40 miles away.Hope somebody will be able to help with the appropiate flap setting with corresponding speeds.Many thanksTass

Hi, I am trying to configure my CH throttle quad to my PMDG 747 using FSUIPC v3.53. I am trying to set up the middle four levers in the FSUIPC joysticks -> "multi-engine setup" page but I am having the following problems:Even though I've set the "max" setting to the max for each lever (about 16,000), when I go full throttle the throttle on the PMDG shows that it's only about 91.9% forward. The second problem I'm having is whenever I idle the throttles, they automatically go into reverse instead of just idling. I have the idle throttle setting set as the furthest point back on each lever (around -16,000 I think), but the reversers still go on when it should be at idle (…

Choosing the PFD/ND EFIS display is causing problems with autothrottle and graphics. With this panel layout, the autothrottle will not arm and I get strange graphics problems. Runway and aircraft textures in spot view go blank. The runway turns all black and the aircraft turns all white. Sometimes together, sometimes seperately. Selecting the EFIS/MAP display and no problems.This is a recent download within the last couple weeks so I'm assuming I have the latest and greatest. Is that a bad assumption?ThanksRandy Blaha

Hi, I created my own RNAV approaches for my home airport Rockhampton (YBRK)When I click the TOGA screw, VNAV won't go back on, it says "unable crz alt." The missed approach goes like this.Track direct to BRKNHThen turn right and track 320 degreesClimb to 3500 feet.My proceedure goes like this RNW 15 FIX OVERFLY BRKNH AT OR ABOVE 100 TRK 320 UNTIL 3500Is there another way of writing this so that VNAV will stay on and i can resume the approach without doing battle with the FMC which constantly displays "unable crz alt"

Hi everyone just wondering how i go about doing go arounds from RNAV approaches.I'm on the approach and my minumums are 510 feet, i have 500 dialed into the alt select window VNAV and LNAV are on. I hit minimums and don't see the lights. So i hit the TOGA screw and this disconnects the autopilot and the FMC displays "unable crz alt." I then put LNAV back on but VNAV won't go back on. What am I doing wrong and could somebody guide me throught the whole proceedure please. Many thanks!Taylor Wass

Hi all!I have a question about the vertical speed on the 737-600/700 during the descent phase.ex: the aircraft is at FL350 and I want to start the descent pressing the FLCH option.the question is: Why the aircraft maintains an excesive pitch down during the initial descent?? basic question but I haven't updated my Navdata for a long time. I am about to reinstall all my PMDG aircraft so will need to update navdata and airac cycles. I looked at the navdata page and there are no SID/STARS there anymore (got the airac cycle OK. Where do I get the SID/STARS from now please ?

Hello!All my MCP and Radio screens are black. It seems that the font for them is missing somewhere.The MCP Knobs are working cause the alt and speed selection on the PFD are working.Can anyone tell me, where that font should be located and where to get it back?30 Mins ago everything worked fine.Help please!Thomas

Can I get rid of the centerpost by simply commenting out the gauge with the corresponding bitmap in it in the [window0] section of panel.cfg or would this lead to errors 'cause the gauge provides some vital functions?Andreas

The FMC is not accepting the Kai Tak RWY 13 IGS freq @ 111.90. Everytime I try to input into the NAV/RAD on line 4L for ils or even into VOR #1 I get invalid input. Its on my game because the default aircraft pick it up and I can make the approach but the PMDG 744 won't. Is there a way to put it into the FMC data base or am I doing something else wrong? Please help, I would like to make this approach with this great addon aircraft.Mike

Dear Sirs,you did an outstanding job with your 747!I like to fly the PMDG Jumbo very much, but when I try to fly it in VC, I always have problems in seeing the compass card on the PFD. The yoke is blocking the view. It is only possible in a unrealistic high seat position. I'm working as an Airline pilot and flying the 747-400. So I tried to compare it with the seat position in the real 747. It's really hard to find out, but I have the feeling, the PMDG control columns are a little to long.Is it possible to change that with a patch?Just to make it clear again, you did a fantastic job and your 747 is really close to the real one!Regards,Christoph

Forgive how basic this question is but say when I am flying the 744 and the FMC calculates the Top of Descent and I can see it on my route. Anyways, say ATC has not cleared me to descend from cruise yet. What do I do? Do I just not reset the MCP alt knob? Do I just wait till ATC says "descend to x thousand feet" and then spin the knob down to that altitude?The other thing I am wondering is how to act when ATC clears you to land and says something like "maintain 3,500 until established on the localiser". Does that mean that I press the APP button there and then, and then let the plane descend when it finally gets on the ILS track? Or do I wait till I am closer to press the…

Hi, I know this is a debated issue but after having done a fair bit of searching on a few different forums I have still not been able to get a good answer........Q, I used to have on my pc a 'suggested key assignment' list that went well with the pmdg ng but I don't know where to find it anymore.I know it's not part of the PMDG package as everyone's setup is different but if anyone has any suggestions as to a good list I would welcome your input. Hello...I recently installed PMDG 747 and now have purchased 737NG. The documentation states that 737NG should be installed prior to installing 747. Do I need to deinstall the 747, install 737NG and then reinstall the 747?Thanks for your help.Bill Harvey

Hello dear pilots,I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the 737 FMC speed and altitude restrictions.Example(with no aid from atc); a chart tells me I must be at the xyz vor at FL60 and a minimum speed of 210kts so now during flight planning I check my fmc LEGS and see if this is correct,if not I amend it.. or do I? Should I leave the legs page as it is and enter the restrictions in the DES/ SPD REST page prior to T/D,modify the LEGS and leave the SPD REST or modify both? Can I say a big thank you to all those people who identify which a/c they are talking about in the Subject Heading. For those of us that are not upto our necks in the 747's it realy makes life easier. Now a moan - this is to those people that for some reason decide to change the Subject Heading. Avsim gives us the ability to have a daily email of new/amended topics. If you change the original heading it really is a pain trying to keep track on a thread.PMDG have said they don't want to set-up forums for each product and I think that is right.
