PMDG General Forum

So from searching around, I know that there's no need to reactivate when reinstalling the aircraft or sim on the same Windows install, and I know that for a complete reinstall then I do need to return the license beforehand. What I'm not entirely clear on is how an in place upgrade from Windows 8.1 up to Windows 10 will affect the license, and therefore if I should be deactivating before doing so. I haven't actually done anything yet, as I'm doing a full disk backup before I touch anything because you can never have too many backups!

I have downloaded the installer today from my e-commerce, installed to update P3D v3 and installed v4 but the operations Centre keeps saying that there is an update available (for both sims). In fact the version installed seems to be 1.10.6461 instead of the 1.20.8396 as far as OC is concened. Am I missing something here? Thank you for your advice

I have just installed the last 737 update (I had to download the full installer for it) and I noticed that when I switch the battery "on" I can not hear any discharging sound... Have you notice this or I have some problem and I do not know? Thanks !

Hi, Im usingf the PMDG 777 with P3Dv4 on a Dual Monitor Setup (Second is for gauges) and i have a Problem with undocking the Panels. Whenever i undock a Panel to take it to my second Monitor, the Panel goes black in the VC. Ist like im litterally taking it out to bring it to the other Screen. I have never had this with any other aircraft. Is it Normal ? sorry for my bad english Greetings from switzerland Stephane

I just noticed that in a few photos of the updated version of the NGX for V4 that there seems to be more reflections like the ones added to the 744. Anyone else notice these or am I just seeing things?

Yesterday I uninstalled and reinstalled both my PMDG B747 QOTS II and my PMDG 777LR/F to the latest installer, as adviced. Everything went really smooth. Today I wanted to testfly the 777 so I prepared a short flight from VHHH to ZSPD. I did my preflight, inserted the appropriate runway and route. When I wanted to check te route on the legs page, a CTD occured. I restarted, went through the same steps with again the same result. I reinstalled my navdata and tried again. Same result; CTD. Hi, There's Something I don't get. Whenever PMDG releases an update and it appears in the Ops manager, clicking on the update displays a message saying that the update is a consequent one and as such a complete file re-download is necessary.. Why such major updates cannot be thrown through the updater ? This is really inconvenient.. Greg

Has anyone been experiencing difficulty downloading PMDG files off PMDG's servers? Each time I try to get an update, the download slows to nothing before getting a download failed - network error message. Then I have to resume download and do this several times over before I actually have the complete file. It's quite irritating!

Hi All - I am about to make the jump to P3D v4 and get the 747-400, but had a question regarding the virtual cockpits. I have been used to flying the NGX with the 2D cockpit. While I played around with TrackIR, I kept coming back to the 2D cockpit. I wanted to know what the "norm" was for folks flying in 3D cockpits. Is EZDok with TrackIR the benchmark? I downloaded the QOTS2 update and it acted like an old install, only giving modify, remove and repair, should I remove the old installation before installing the new? I'm a bit confused. Patrick Boynton

I understood the 777 300ER expansion had been released for P3D4 but when I go to the PMDG shop to purchase it says "This product (the 777 300ER) is not yet compatible with Prepar3D v4". Thanks Bruceb

Sorry Guys Im must be having a blonde moment but nearly every few days I get a notice of a update across the boards to uninstall reload then re install the 3 products for v4 however the latest one for the 737 says does this mean the 600 and 700 is now v4 ready? and please can we revert back to the smaller updates rather than re downloading the whole things again, its a small gripe as just as I reinstall everything and re do all the schemes i have to uninstall and repeat the process all over again 1st world problems I know but im seem to be doing more maintenance than flying

When I open the Operations center and choose 737NGX for FSX SE and see what was changed in changelog it just shows: Page unavailable. All other planes 747v3 and 777 Work fine. I was wondering what was changed recently for the 737 during the update that you guys rolled all out for all the planes.

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me. I have been using the 737NG and have just noticed something very strange. The RNP displayed is 2.00 but my ANP is always between 0.06 and 0.05. Does anyone know what would cause the to happen? I am using P3D v4, the 737 is a clean install and has up to date Nav data from Navigraph. As far as I am aware, I have aligned the IRS's correctly but no matter what I do, I always get the same result. Is this a bug, or is there something I could be doing wrong? Many thanks Phill Morgan

I may well be in a trance after the expense and trouble downloading P3Dv4 and PMDG QOTS11 but can someone tell me, where are the manuals and learning flight documents? There is nothing in the PMDG start folder. Ian Harrison

Using the PMDG Operations Centre users are presented with notifications of updates being available. If you select 'Install Update', the black banner 'Download Complete' appears within a few seconds with the message that the "Product is being updated - This message with clear when the update is completed". Then it just sits there seemingly doing nothing for hours. There is no progress bar or estimate of how long the update should (normal practice). What should the user do? Surely the Download is not complete despite the banner saying no. What is the Operations Centre actually doing? Is it continuing to download the update or is it stalled 'installing' the update. I'm in deep with FSX-SE, and considering making the jump to P3dV4 - maybe as a christmas gift later in the year... or somewhere down the line. I would appreciate some input, here what some people think. My current setup: R9 270X Card w/ 2GB of RAM (3 monitors wide) 8 core 4GHZ processor SSD for booting, but also has a second 1.5 TB drive FSX Addons: PMDG NGX, Navigraph subscription, AS16, Cloud art, GSX, EZDok, vPilot, Vatsim (these are all must haves for me) I have currently everything working just perfectly. Opened the operations center and there an update for the 777 to fix the bugged autobrake knob, however, when I attempted to install the update, it is asking me to re-download the entire installer once again. Is there another installer improvement not listed in the changelog?-- (because it seems excessive to re-download an entire installed just to fix the autobrake switch) OR am I wrongly assuming that the 777 is ready for micro updates? If it's the latter, can somebody clarify if as of today, only the 747 is micro update compatible?

Can you put a version number on the installer package so that we know which version is current and which is new.
