After suffering intractable Windows Vista problems I had to format my Hard Disk and start from scratch. Now, after selecting "My Controls" followed by "View Topics", I have only three posts for SFX and nothing for my PMDG posts.Help would be appreciated to regain those valubale (to me) PMDG posts.Cliff

Just wondering if flood lighting should be on or off when flying at night, or is this pilot preference? I always have it off and was wondering how it's used in the real world. Thanks,Dave S

Captains!Forgive me if I seem a little preachy or whatever here but something has been bothering me a little over the past few days.In announcing an imminent release but not saying what it is, PMDG have spared everyone the frustration of a prolonged wait for this mystery aircraft.Yet they still get bagged for doing so, people implying that it's in some way mean or unfair to withhold the info, or judging on the merits of still-unknown factors. So what if RSR tells you what the plane is right now, it won't make it arrive any sooner right? Work remains to be done, after all. I don't know what the plane is either, and yet I'm just delighted at the unforeseen prospect of a ne…

Hello allWell I know this has been talked about before, but I was using the 747 today and all the sudden the winds started to change with ASA. Well the plane started swaying and would not stop. So I tried to flatten it out myself by flying hand, but when I put it back in auto the plane just did it again. Any comments on this. Is Hifi working on this? I would like to fly the plane with some weather instead of blue skies.

Hi,a couple of days ago I had to interrupt my final approach to Istanbul and perform a go around with the MD 11. I pressed the go around button on the throttle lever and the enginepower increased. So far so good. A quick look at the FMC led to a little panic attack, because the complete flight information had been deleted. Just as if I

I don't know how many people have run into this, but the old method in your pinned banner topic doesn't seem to work right in the new forum. What I finally had to do was use BBCode to get the image to appear. For example:This is what shows if you just paste the link into the signature box:http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpgIt will become this if you add - img encased in square brackets at the beginning of the string - and /img encased in square brackets - at the end of the string:Look in the BB Code help box when you post.Paste this, or one of the other .jpgs from PMDG you like into the signature box and hit the 'add' button. Have others also found …

Hi AllLoving the 744 for FSX. Just 1 minor hitch (possibly user error!!) I am trying to change lbs to kgs in the options. I have used the options menu and changed the selection but it doesn't reflect in the sim it still displays in lbs. I have also made the change in the load manager but the same result. Am I missing something obvious??CheersBen

I read somewhere that the new 377NG 2.0 will have an Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) (See: http://www.b737.org.uk/images/ehsi_peaks.jpg ) and a Vertical Situation Display (VSD) (See: http://www.b737.org.uk/images/vsd.jpg)Is this true?Anthony ReesCape TownSouth Africa

Had this failure today and i noticed the high vibration readings were alternating quickly between the EMV COMP and the EMV TURB causing the MASTER CAUTION to flash on and off which is a bit distracting, is this normal? Didnt shut down the engine though as the QRH said that if all other parameters remain in normal range theres no reason to shut it down

Somebody please help me out with the following situation:Airport Climb Gradient Restriction: 5.8% to 2000', then 3.3%Aircraft: 747-400V2 reads 164 on PERF page, so I enter it on the Speed Selector Window.Assuming the speed will maintain V2 + 10 until acceleration phase, my gradient is supposed to be around 1000 fpm. However I can't have the aircraft climb within this gradient, unless I do not activate VNAV (VNAV always ""overshoots" it).Even so, I never know when the gradient is applicable. Should I apply this gradient as soon as airborn or should I wait until the acceleration phase? Can FMC handle with that? Thanks a lot.Silvestre

Hi,I'm currently flying from EHAM to LPMA and cruising at FL320 with forthcoming step climb to FL360. The FMC says OPT Cruise is now FL365 but on the EHSI the step climb is depicted to happen in 20 Nm: why? Shouldn't the two things coincide? Thanks

Dear allI have a few issues I would like to clarify concerning use of both VNAV in general and then also the Flight Director.Taking the 737 800/900 as an example:VNAVAfter takeoff, when should VNAV be activated?I understood at or after the thrust reduction altitude, but not before, since the speeds VNAV applies for a SID will be the climb speed (for example 240 kts) raher than any constraint speed. Is this correct. So, if I push VNAV (after LNAV) at say 400ft AGL my speeds will rocket up to 240kts (for example) rather than maintain V2+10 ?So, I fly the initial climb at V2+10 using pitch, then at thrust reduction alt (say 1500ft) I can activate VNAV.Concerning F/DI have fou…

Ok so I downloaded from the PMDG website several of the liveries available for the 737 series and the 747. and then I followed the install-shield prompts to install them all in sequence, with no error messages resulting from that step. Next I started up FS9 and clicked on the PMDG options menu, where I expected to see a new option for the lveries I had just added. There was no obvious option to access and use those new liveries, so I assumed the system needed to be re-started in order for the new liveries to show up. After the re-start I still found no trace of the livery downloads, even when I checked several of the other menu options besides the PMDG one. My questi…

Hey,I'm trying to use FSBuild to export a flight plan to the FMC of the PMDG 737NG, however, when I attempt to do this, I receive the error:ERR -unable to create PMDG 737NG FMC file PMDGFLIGHTPLANSRTE.rteI try changing the path in the Options folder, but it's got no option to do so. I've attached a screen shot of the error. The folder definitely exists. Thanks

Yesterday I bought a second 26 inch monitor with the intention to see more left/right from the MD-11 ( FSX ) virtual cockpit. However, When using 2 monitors in expanded mode ( through a DualHead2Go ) automatically everything is twice as big , so I do not get a wider view. When moving the eyepoint back to the position I want I end up just behind the seats , so facing them from behind.See the attached screenshot. The idea was having the virtual cockpit like I had with 1 monitor, but being able to see more left/right.In combination with my Hat track an unbeatble combination I thought. Is there a way I can remove those seats ? I was even thinking of making the head support text…

Guys, before bothering you with a new topic I looked for the answer on this forum, but none of them was really satisfying me:So here I am with probably a very silly question:When setting up my MD11X I come to the page concerning CGs, weights etc etc. With the right mouse button, I can obtain the "automatic" CG and ZFWCG values: when I insert them they are ALWAYS out of range.I use FSPX to load passengers and cargo and PMDG's normal utility to refuel the plane.I assume that the only way to load "properly" my MD11 is throught the Load Manager? If Yes, is there a way to use FSPX and have normal values on CGs?ThanksNicola
