I have posted this topic in another area of the AVSIM Forum, but thought the subject might draw a better answer here in the Specific PMDG forum.Apparently, PMDG knows something about Autopilots that the other AC designers do not know.The issue is the autopilot effectiveness. Specifically Roll in and out of headings, nav capture, and nav tracking. In my case, the PMDG 737 series behaves just like the real aircraft autopilot. It will promptly roll to and from a "Bugged" heading without lag, and capture the localizer (or any nav course) precisely at just about any intercept angle.The approach to the correct design on the PMDG is apparently in the heading control. Can someone please help me i can't enter any speeds into the IAS/MACH indicator on the dashboard on my PMDG 747-400 QUEEN OF THE SKY not in 2d mode or VC mode.In vc mode i can turn the nob and turn it and the icons show o.k but the numbers won't change it's stuck on speed 200 and that's it.I have tried the ALT button and that changes numbers o.k,and all the other buttons seem fine too.Thankyou for any help because i realy want to start flying am i missing something.Danny Cebis.

Guys,I have been having some horrid experiences flying an ILS approach on AP on the MD-11. I seem to miss the LOC by a mile (the GS is fine).Even if I disconnect the AP and try and recapture the LOC manually, it misses it again by a wide margin. Yes, I have run the Registry several times. It is obviously not making a difference.Any help/advice would be appreciated. This is spoiling all my fun.Meekal

On a number of SIDs and STARs (747-400X), I have seen the following type of entry:137* TRK(VECTORS)I think what this is saying is to fly magnetic heading 137 but for how long or until what happens ? Should I expect vectors to the next waypoint ? But when flying a full IAP, ATC (Radar Contact in this case) provides the altitude clearance(s) but does not provide vectors (as expected) so this entry puzzles me. If anyone can tell me what this means and how to handle it I would appreciate it.Zach

Ya,For the 744 I have a little program that takes the weight, runway, and weather and gives me a de-rate temp and flap setting, but how do I know what number to put in for the Flex temp on the 11? Also, does anyone have a fuel planner out yet? Thanks!

Hi,I had two questions:1. In the FS9 version of the 747 there was a key mapping option for "soft A/T disconnect" but i cannot find it in the FSX version. Was that removed? (the only option i have to map the "disconnect A/T" which physically toggles the A/T switch on the MCP).2. I was performing some touch-n-go's on the 747 as well the 744F (both FSX version), and i noticed that after the 1st landing, the radio altimeter calls do not play on subsequent landing, is that a known issue?Thanks,Sumit Sehgal

I just got the PMDG 747 V1.2 for FS9. Why does it tell me I have to intsall the FS9.1 patch when I already have it????? This is the french version of FS9.1, I have checked in FS and it is indeed FS9.1.Thanks Alex

Hello,As you know, both PMDG 747-400 & md11 have the ability to restore their states along with Flight save files. This is great, because it allow to save a flight and reload it later, to continue the flight, to review a interesting situation, etc...Suppose now I decide to reload a Flight made some time ago and I know that I made several other flights since that time, with different payload configurations. Obviously, my Flight made some time ago, WILL NOT FIT with the actual payload configuration (payload is memorized into "aircraft.cfg").My question is, for both PMDG 747-400 & MD11 aircrafts:If I reload my Flight, will I fly with the last flown payload values, or…

Quick question regarding the overboost bar on the MD11. I use the goflight throttle quadrant, If I advance the 3 thrust levers fully forward to the stops will I get the overboost or do I still have to assign a button to simulate overboost? My understanding of the real aircraft is you can feel a slight bump in the levers when you reach overboost, kinda like the Gates you find on the Airbus thust levers. Also do you get any visual indication on the PFD or SD's?CheersRobEDIT: ok a little more digging has told me overboost will switch the FADEC to ALTN and disconnect the Autothrust so pushing a button would be safer for me.

Folks: Does anyone knows where can I get engine-sounds for the PMDG MD-11. The curent (orignal) engine sounds are too faint and somewhat unrealistic at times. I love the sounds on the 747; no need to change. But, I believe the sounds on the MD-11 needs lots of improvement.Thanks,Juan Gonzalez

Hi alltogether ...some days ago I bought a copy of the MD -11 via dowbload/credit card. Although I did it all very accurate, the result was a link for a fsx copy instead of the fs9 copy I ordered ! Bad enough ! even worse is the fact, that meanwhile 4 ! queries to the PMDG support stuff didn`t result in a single reaction. Where has the famous customer friendlyness of the PMDG - team gone ? HiToday I have made two flights with the same problem.As you can see in the picture below, taken while climbing after takeoff, this is what I get with the automatic air system:Packs and bleeds are off.If I manually switch the packs and the bleed, everything is fine:How can I make the autosystem wotk correctly? Gents,The next question I have is about flying a ILS in the MD-11. I just did a awesome VOR13L app into JFK in the rain and it was a blast BTW. So lets set the scene. Your on the CAMRN4 and are told to expect the ILS 13L APP. Say you are given a heading to intercept the LOC. would you stay in heading mode but what would you do to intercept the LOC? I fly online mostly and am a controller. You normally dont fly direct the IAF after the end of your STAR. There is a couple vectors and such. So how would you execute the ILS when on heading hold to intercept? Walk me through a ILS in YOUR cockpit.Shawn

A suggestion...combine all the .PDF's into one PDF...so it can be searched. As it is now I have to search 10 different files (.pdf) to find the answer to my questions. All PMDG manuals should be a single PDF, for each aircraft...or don't even bother to tell me to RTFM! The way it is now makes a search of the various .pdf's a pain in the butt. Make the aircraft manuals one file for each aircraft, and save our sorry butts from all the pain of trying to "search" them. Victor (still searching through 11 pdf's) Buck

After spending much time with the 747 and MD-11 manuals...I still have no idea how to plan a flight with step climbs. How does one decide that "at point Z , I can climb to FLXXX"? Once a person has figured that out...how do you use it in the various FMC's? Yes, I did RTFM...no...it did not help me...this is why I am asking here. Since, you finally started pricing products in US$ again, I decided to purchase the MD-11 for FSX. I log into the site and it shows my correct information,but after I add the item to my shopping card and click on checkout, it says my shopping cart is empty.I have cookies enabled and have tried using both IE and Firefox.Obviously, if this was happening to everyone, it would have been mentioned by people and would have been fixed by now.
