I've set up a flight from CYVR to CYYC: CYVR-HUH-J534-IWACK-J503-YDC-J504-OPALE . Offline, no Radar Contact.Leaving YVR, all of the available SID's end in "Vectors" (which shows up as "MANUAL" in the FMC). Solved easy enough by a direct to HUH.On the approach however, the OPALE7 STAR itself is discontinuous. For example the approach to RWY16 has a turn to the north after MOGOT, followed by "vectors" (controlling the flight north and the 180deg turn back toward RW160). Within the FMC and on the ND this shows up as a gap in the flightplan.Any suggestions on how "best" to handle this?Would also appreciate any feedback on Radar Contact, given I typically simulate about 1.5 ho…

Hi,anytime I try to use the pushback facility provided by the FMC I can get the nose to turn only "RIGHT", "LEFT" does not seem to be accepted (at least in FS9, in FSX it works).Am I doing something wrong maybe?Thanks

I just bought the PMDG B737 NG 600/700. When I program the FMC I always get a D/T that is only a few miles from the destination. I have went though programming the FMC step by step with a friend at the same location going to the same destination. His T/D was fine and mine was only a couple of mile from the destination. I have a question. On departure your given a initial ALT of 5000. After wheels up would you pull the ALT knob to select PITCH or would you select PROF to 5000? Also, if you alter the CLB thrust ALT, do you have to be in PROF mode for that to activate?

What is causing this: PMDG-MD11X and PMDG-747X excessive heading off-track and 35 degrees bank angle.MD-11 and 747X cannot maintain AP engage Nav track or heading during the various cross winds and wind speed changes. a-I didn't have this problem with PMDG-747in FS9.b-I wonder if there is Nav/HG sensitivity numbers in MD-11 and 747 cofig.files needs to be adjust.c-Only thing I checked in FSUIPC wind smoothing 1and 0. I did my first "longhaul" in the MD11 today, and she performed superbly. Here are a few questions/comments/wishes I've been sitting on for the past few weeks.1. Since 747, FMC, and CDU are all "too short" to search for, I haven't been able to find a topic with my specific problem. Today, my CDU screens for the FMC went Black. Both VC and 2D. They still "function" because I get the "FMC message" on the EICAS, and if I press the clear button, it goes away, but, alas, nothing on any of the 3 FMC displays. Any ideas? Anyone know what fonts are supposed to be in the folder for the CDU's?Thanks,Randy Turner

EDIT: Darn, shoulda mentioned MD-11 in the topicAnyone else see this? Twice on recent arrivals, after checking the destination weather, there were changes in surface winds which required that I change the arrival runway, which I had initially selected earlier while still enroute. In one case, the arrival was KJFK; the other was KEWR. I opened the FMS/MCDU(?), went to route, selected the arrival and went to the STAR page. I tried deselecting/deleting the arrival runway, but was "not allowed." When I tried to select the appropriate runway, the entire program simply froze. Sound kept playing, and the mouse cursor functioned, but the thing was otherwise locked. Couldn't …

Hi all,Last week I purchased my second 26" monitor.The 2 monitors are connected to a Matrox Digital DualHead2Go to get a 3d expanded view in FSX.From that moment on issues began with the MD-11.Out of 5 times at least 2 times a fatal error appears within 5-15 minutes when running FSX. When zooming in/out , moving the cockpit left/right / up /down to match the right VC view ovwer the 2 monitors also sometimes the mousepointer appears as a hand and no knobs/switches respond.This sometimes also appeared when I wqas using 1 monitor.My Os is Vista Ultimate 64 bit.My pc is high end and is running FSX with good framerates.I have read about fatal errors , but as I did not get it w…

Loading route segent example e.g. H110, NS. System allows. Next flight, identical, try to input H110, get message "Invalid entry". if I enter NS directly it sometimes accepts but will pick up waypoint from somewhere els in the world with a rediculous distance e.g. 8,256 NM. Thsi seems to happen at random, may do several flights ok then problem arises. Thanx, Kevin

I posted a similar question to the support mailbox, but I will cross-post here in case others have a similar question. My apologies if this has been asked and/or answered previously.I purchased the FSX version of the MD-11 when it came out in the hopes of stepping away from the FS9 platform. It seems that I've found myself back with FS9 purely from a performance standpoint. I'd like to also purchase the MD-11 for FS9, but shelling our another $80 isn't doable for me at the moment. Hindsight is definitely 20/20, but I'm hoping there is some sort of upgrade to the combo package for those who had originally purchased the FSX version...$40 is certainly more doable than $8…

The PMDG B744 for FSX flies flawlessly until I install the Air Force One (VC25) addon for FSX, Version 1.1 dated Dec 2008) located on the PMDG website. Not a big thing as I can still enjoy the aircraft w/o Air Force One installed. But, when I attempt to fly AF1 or any PMDG default 744X aircraft, I have no airspeed indication when going down the runway. This is the first indication that things are not going to be good. After takeoff and raising the gear and flaps, the aircraft flies w/o any problem until I turn on the autopilot (around 1200 feet). Hi guys,I know that there is a lot of activity and development in progress and you guys have your hands full. I was just wondering as there seems to be no future update for the 747 in FS9 whether you can work on and release a MIP for widescreen monitors some time in the future. As the new NG is coming out which will support this I see no reason to request it, but there seems to be nothing more that can be developed for the 747, other than this. Cheers,Dinshaw.

Folks:I know, I know...Many of you want more and more boeings (besides the many out there already). But come on, aren't there enough Boeings out there. Everyone develops boeings but few even try Airbuses. Why? Does it has to do with Airbus being such an advanced and complex aircraft? Or is it becuase Airbus will not share their "secrets" of building an Airbus?
