Hi all.In my MD11 (FS9), in the even of an engine failure during take-off passing V1 (flyng in FMC speed mode), the rest of operative engines doesn't increase their N1 or EPR bugs, remaining in FLX mode after pressing the FMC key *confirm engine outIs it normal on this aircraft?Thank you.Antonio.

Hi there, don't mean to be picky but are the control movements of the md11 suppose to be so twitchy? I find that the autopilot responses to pitch and roll are quite jerky at times and from the vc the control coloumn seems to be moving fast. Is this just how the sim is modelled or can this be adjusted in anyway? I would like the autopilot to respond more smoothly to commands. Does anyone else find this happens?Thanks Barrie

Hi, I'm having trouble motivating myself into buying the MD-11(for FS9), since I'm already flying the 744 and a certain 767. Wouldn't it be just adding another heavy. Do I want to dive into another 900+ pages manual(sure, I'm unemployed at the moment and my wife thinks I must have something to do besides looking for a new job. :( ) I have read many reviews and one word comes to mind, spectacular!Oh, what the heck, I'll probably end up buying it anyway!Best regards/Niclas

I was preparing the cockpit for an arrival at YBCG from YMML in the 744, and to my surprise there was no ILS freq/hdg info on the navrad page. I am flying a coroute and have a complete route with arr runway. I cannot find the ILS freq on the FSX map either. Am I to assume there is no ILS at the said airport?

Hi,My nose-wheel goes nuts on landing. Usually hard right and into the grass. No steering problem on T/O.In the VC, the control column trembles disconcertingly. In a turn, it shakes violently.If these issues have come up before, my apologies. If not, any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Meekal

HI,I purchased the MD-11 for fs9 when it was first released (great plane, by the way!) never thinking I would be upgrading my computer to run FSX...Unfortunately,I have recently had to buy a new computer because my old one, suffice to say, "is no more". My question, of course: Is there a "retroactive" discount available for me if I now purchase (only two months later) the FSX version...since my new computer can handle the system demands of FSX.Thanks,Bob

Hello there,A friend and me conducted a test with the VOR Arm mode.It seems that if you are established on VOR 1 Radial, if you arm the VOR 2, it will continue on the VOR1 radial and not change when crossing the second one. Is that a normal behavior ?Regards.

I'm planning a flight in the MD-11 from Oakland KOAK to Seattle KSEA to land on runway 34L.Using NACO APPROACH PLATES on the "MyAirplane.com" site I printed the Seattle ILS RWY 34L chart.I then printed the five STARS shown in the Seattle STAR list. They are:CHINS SIX ARRIVAL EPHRATA SIX ARRIVALGLASR SEVEN ARRIVALJAWBN ONE ARIVALOLYMPIA SIX ARRIVALI expected to find waypoints that coincided with waypoints on one of the five STAR charts and would then have concluded that I had identified the correct STAR.However that was not to be. Please......which of these charts is correct and why?Cliff

Hello.My Saitek controllers are all working as they should so thanks to Richard!!!Except with PMDG 737 NG Rudder when I open up FS9 and select a flight with the afore mention aircraft an do a walk around I noticed when testing the rudder that it moves in the right directions but immediately returns to to center before I have released the pedal. So the rudder is rendered useless, but with every other aircraft in my hanger it works properly.Has anyone else run into this snag? I have checked the assignments several times learning from past experience and saw no reason for this. Help if you can please? Hey guys. I'm almost ready to go for my first flight on the MD-11,...but how do i figure out what the right dial-a-flap setting should be for a 460,000lb takeoff? I've looked over the tutorial and the FMS documents but I seem to be missing how to determine the proper setting. Thanks.

This thread isn't probably going to help the problem here, only stir it up more. So once again, I apologize for that.Anyways, to what I have to say:Like I said earlier in the (now) infamous "secret airplane" thread, I don't really post much on these forums, simply because it seems that this forum is 5% actual support followed by 95% complaints and derogatory comments about how FS9 isn't supported...PMDG are garbage...etc.Recently, as was pointed out by PMDG themselves, these forums seem to have degenerated into something that isn't worth PMD…

As you know, there are many topics on this subject, and I think in the last 3hrs, I've read most of 'em.So.... please, don't anyone just put up a blank post with a link - i've no doubt been there already. What is a shame is the number of 'dead' links in posts that go nowhere.In the past i've had this sorted, flying both the MD-11 and the 744 in and out of Kai Tak (the Fly Tampa version), using the IGS13 approach, with everything showing correctly on the ND.Bottom line....... I hesitate to even point this out as it seems silly, but w/ about 100 hours now w/ the MD-11, which by the way I am sold 100 percent on, I only have one complaint if you can call it that. I wish the click spot on the overhead light panel 2D, was on the right instead of the left. It is unatural w/ mouse to have everything on the right for the most part w/ little movement of the mouse for other panels, and this one on the far left. Now I know the lefties out there love it and wish everything were on the left but we have not gotten to that point w/ regards to click spots. :( There, I said it. Please excuse my tone, I should probably be having a good walk before typing this to calm down a bit but I can't because I've wasted my whole evening battling when I shouldn't have to.There are several posts about users not being able to install add-on liveries from the PMDG site for at LEAST the 737, 747 and MD11, I should know I've read them yet STILL nobody has come up with an answer that is useful.WHY when people are paying (let's face it) a LOT of money for software is the support not provided? Hi all,I've been enjoying the latest update, but I've also ntticed a few nitpicking things...1. NAV mode should not be available for arming on the ground until all 3 engines are running.2. Currently, the flight time on the ND (blue) resets to zero when the engines are shut down. It should not be reset until V2 is computed on the TAKEOFF page for the next flight.3. Without GNSS, the FMS position should update to the runway threshold position when takeoff power is set. I recently installed 800/900 to add onto the 600/700. I noticed that as soon as I lifted off the ground, the red "overspeed" markers appeared on the PFD's airspeed, filling the whole tape. Any idea what can cause this? It seems to only happen when any amount of flaps are used. As soon as the flaps we're retracted, the red markers go away. But until you retract flaps, you can not engage VNAV. This happens in decent as well. As soon as you set flaps 1, red markers fill the airspeed tape on the PFD, and VNAV has an overspeed disconnect. I am well within my speed limits. The aircraft should perform normally. I think it's a bug?Help please!Thanks in advance,Craig Gear

In the LSAS section of the PMDG MD-11 SYSTEMS manual it says:Above 20,000 feet, LSAS provides pitch rate damping (PRD) when force is applied to the control column. This damping is gradually reduced to zero, between 20,000 feet and 15,000 feet.But as of the FCC-908 software update that the PMDG MD-11 is modeled upon, the pitch rate damping logic has been changed:The MD-11 FCC-908 software upgrade will activate the PRD control loop below 15,000-feet pressure altitudes at a reduced gain. Hello guys, I wanted to congratulate you for the wonderful Add-on !I also wanted to tell you that I have this problem, in practice when they are full screen, but also in windows mode, whether during the flight hit the button "ALT" to open the toolbar and see the map or otherwise,because on opening a new window in FSX, then the screen goes black and I do not see the airplane and will the scenery .. In FS9 my MD-11 shows the letters "MF PMDG BG" above the cockpit window in spot view. I have done a repaint for our VA using the painkit and with the passenger version these letters have not shown up, which is good..........but in the cargo version they show up on my repainted livery, which is not good!I have done a thorough search through all the files for both the PMDG livery and my new repaint but I cannot find these letters on any of them so I am unable to delete them.I assume they are supposed to be there on the original PMDG house livery but can you please tell me how I can remove them from my repainted livery?Many thanks.John :(

With this post i would like to personaly thank PMDG for this wonderful and exciting addon.It is a wonderful bird and i love everything about the plane. After installing the latest patch, the airplane came alive like never before. The job you have put in to those virtual cockpit light is just stunning! I have never seen anything like it in Flight Simulator X. The Dome light looks so real.Beeing able to adjust the background lights to your liking is just something i believe most of us simmers could just dream of a few months ago. After the new patch, all the pixelations of the VC lights is gone to. Smooth.. The best thing about the MD-11 is that it dosent cause my computer …

PMDG,I get OOM CTD now with the latest update for the FS9 version. Always happens just prior to intercepting LOC. Never got them before this latest update. Not sure if a 'fix' to the FS9 version is now too much for my system to handle. Bummer.-Greg
