Captains-We have a long standing tradition in the PMDG forum that we do not discourage the discussion of non PMDG products. Have little time, and an unprecedented ability to diregard manuals as much as possible, I wanted to know if fs2crew could help me with my learning curve?I know it does not cover the route programming, and weight and fuel calculations, but overall it it helpfull?For some strange reason, I like to learn things through trial and error ( fs of course) , and am not interested in "abnormal" or emergency procedures.I understand that this is not what most like to hear, and some will have strong opinions on this, but please keep your advice clear and simple.Thanks.

Hello Thanks for you help with stabilizer but I have few other questions if you don't mind to help me again :)What I should do to eliminate the call;autopilot ,autopilot ,autopilot :(.... after disengage one and switching to manual flight .When I load a flight plan from FSX to PMGD _ FMC , the FSX air traffic controller is giving me some different vectors , headings, its still close but not the same ,and FMC in some points saying flight plan discontinue,however is letting me insert some fix which allowing me to meet ILS Radio frequency and align with the runway. Dear PMDG Team,Thank you very much for the update.After installing the last update I have now problems when flying into LEMD, for the first time my FS9 freeze. It seems to happenwhen reaching close to 100 NM from the airport.I have tested with other addon sceneries (ESSA, LOWW, EDDH, LSZH) but only seems to be problem with LEMD.This morning I did the same route (EDDH-LEMD) with my PMDG 747 and the flight went perfect.Not sure, but can it be errors in the data of the MD11 FMC?I have tested 6 flights, using different runways for landing, SID data should be entered correct, but always my FS9 freeze.I have the last version from Navigraph installed.Any advice or help is much a…

Finally got to work the big girl out 747 400X and got it flying.While doing a control surface check i noticed that the allerons and flaps don't work (allerons stay drooped on both sides and Flaps stay up but the hindges drop down when lowering flaps)It apperas cosmetic as the aircraft Takes off , cruises around and lands sweet.is there a fix for this as the screen shots look a bit bodgee with the alerons drooped in flight.ThanksDarryl Ashlin

HI,I'm using FSX and patched the MD11 with the latest SP. Before that I had problems with autobrakes but only sometimes, now I have performed at least 20 landings but autobrakes don't even work for a second. :( I have tried different brakes configurations, with FSUIPC, without FSUIPC, null zone at max at min...nothing. I still have to try the FS9 version. Even the G/S logic is still strange. 8 landings out of 10 were fine, but still have 2 of them where the bird climbs like a rocket to catch the G/S.Anyone having the same?EDIT: the FS9 version doesn't have autobrakes problems.

I have recently installed Vista 64bit to a reformatted HD to finally allow me to use the horsepower I have paid so much for. To be careful, I loaded FSX with updates but no FEX or GEX or any other addons except PMDG 747X. I started at EGNX without traffic but with weather updates and was encouraged to see 25+ FPS in full screen with SLI activated. ten seconds after takeoff and without warning I had a brief BSOD which shut the computer down and restarted it.Am I missing something? Hi all.I was getting set for a flight yesterday in FS9 with the MD-11 and was trying to load the tutorial panel file in the FS menu bar, somehow I managed to hit the save panal button instead of the load panel one.Of course the inevitable happened, I never copped on to what I had done until I got back to FS and saw that nothing had changed.Tried to load the panel again and knew then that I had cocked up brialliantly.Is the FS-X tutorial panel file the same as the FS9 one so it could be copied over, or do I need to reinstall the MD-11 again from scratch to repair my handiwork?THanks for any info and help.

when i try to install MD-11 at Fs9 it says:FS9 Version 9.1.0.4091(FS9.1 at least) required.You only have FS9 Version 9.0.0.30612 installed.Please install FS9.1 or later to use this product. :( Daniel

Hi Guys I have just set up 747-400 in FS9 on my new quad-core running vista home.(32-bit) If I acess the PMDG config panel in windowed mode all is well If I do the same in full screen mode the screen goes blank. I have not yet managed to recover without restarting the sim, I have a Nvidia GForce 9800GT Graphics card running the latest Vista Drivers. Am I missing a background runtime utility or similar ?Thanks in anticipation

Something for a break from all the recent seriousness...If you won enough money in the Lotteries to obtain your pilot licence (assuming you don't already have one) and purchase your own aircraft, what would you buy? Try to keep it sensible - I can't see anyone really going out to buy their own Boeing 777 even if they had the money for ten (10) of them. As for me, I'm tied between either the Pilatus PC-12 and the Beechcraft Super King Air B350. Hi,I've had a problem with the MD11 FMS since installing the latest patch. It just dumps the perf data so that no vertical information is available. The lateral route is unaffected, but the PERF, TO and APP pages are all blank.I've had it happen under the following conditions:1. During engine start. I had to re-load the flightplan, shut down and restart the engines to get things working properly.2. At cruise on a short flight where the TC and TD were pretty close.I can't think of any button pushes I made that could have caused it. Two different phases of flight requiring different button pushes. I can't reproduce the problem, but it's pretty annoying. Has anybody else see…

Hello All. Excuse my ignorance, but just joined pmdg and selected a couple of products. It shows the products in my shopping cart. When I went to "check out" it went to a screen that said "cart empty". Tried several times with the same result. Was wondering if anybody had any ideas.Thanks. Mkatr2

Utter Frustration!I am looking for recommendations for a weather application to use with FSX that works. This rules out any Hi-Fi Simulation Product, sorry if you were going to mention ASA or ASX, but I have spent the past four hours trying to figure out how to get upper winds to come out of the West instead of the East (over the US too, where Easterlys never happen at FL310). I give up. HiFi stuff shows correct winds inside their app but FSX slowly wraps the wind vector down from about 250/100 to 0/0.. with our without FSUIPC smoothing. I am looking for an application that knows how to put winds into FSX and keep them there.This cycle of fixing the weather and then it go…

Can someone please explain to me how are flight plans (.rte) formatted for the PMDG B737 series? I have a program which I want to be able to export flight plans for the PMDG B737 FMC but I need to know how the FMC interprets the data within the flightplan. Thanks for any insight on this.

Just curious on what the numbers are for the FS9 PMDG MD11. I got a message on the CDU of the pax version that max landing weight is 460,000lbs, however that number does not match any of the numbers in the performance limit section of the manuals.thanksEDIT: Also i heard that the method for Vapp speed adjustment for wind is not like the Boeing way of doing it where you add 5 knots for steady state wind less than 10 knots, and if its over 10 knots you add half of the steady state wind plus the full gust to the Vref speed, does anyone know the correct method for MD11?

I've had a hard drive melt down and have lost everything including all my PMDG planes for FS2004. Can you please pull up my purchase records and how can download the planes without purchasing them all over again. I have a brand new system, have also bought the MD11 for FSX (which is on my new computer) and would like to reinstall my FS9 PMDG planes. (I've reinstalled FS9). Hey guys, just wondering about a couple thingsFirstly when selecting the 62K option in the PW model through the CDU, it is reflected on the EAD. However with ATS disengaged and thrust is advanced for takeoff, the engine reaches the 62K EPR limit until around 80kts or so when the engine rolls back to a 60K EPR setting....is this normal and why?Secondly, i know that PMDG must have been hoping that the last patch would have been the LAST one, but i notice the passenger oxygen mask switch doesn't appear to work, are there any plans to model even the alerts?thanks
