I'm not sure what I did wrong here, maybe I missed something. I installed the latest AIRAC cycle. Now, the FMC shows a particular frequency for a runway, but when I try to tune the radio for the runway and the ILS doesn't tune. I later found out that the radio freq in the map for FS9 doesn't match the freq in the FMC. Is that significant? When I tune the freq. in the map, the ILS does tune.Maybe I'm just being silly :)

I thought i could find it on PMDG's website, but somehow I must have missed it or...it isn't there.Can anyone tell me what external CDU's are supported by PMDG to work under FS9/FSx and the MD-11 and upcomming 737NGX?

Calling myself an MD-11 pilot is kind of ridiculous! It has taken me 3 days just to work through the London to Zurich tutorial. I did finally get the plane airborn and headed to Zurich as per the flight plan but it wasn't pretty. I really admire you folks who have mastered the MD-11 simulator. But I digress--can you give me some recommendations on flight planning software that works well with this aircraft's FMC?Thanks as always,Eric

I was flying another developers airplane yesterday, and I changed a speed restriction for an upcoming waypoint, and though VNAV and LNAV were engaged, the airplane immediately started a right turn off course. Hmmm. I let it go to see what it would do. It just sort of flew a half circle. Somehow, it lost it's mind. I ended up hand flying it back to the proper track and re-engaging the A/P etc.On yet another airplane, I've experienced similar 'failures', which require me, the PIC, to be alert at all times. Dear all,Yesterday, as I was flying online the MD11 I experienced the following situation:After landing and proceed to shutdown checklist I prepared the airplane for the next trip (without reloading tha plane).After take off I was not able to retract the landing gear (except the center one). The truth is that I delayed to retract the gear. After many attempts I slow down to 220 knots in order to retract the gear but I was still unable to do so. After all I executed the whole flight with landing gear down (except center gear - three greens).Did anyone knows if I did something wrong? Is that a normal MD11 behavior?And something else: Where is the PMDG promised MD11 advanced…

I think I'm making a mistake when inserting an approach that causes a duplicate STAR to get inserted. Typically when I setup my route during pre-flight, I don't insert an approach/runway. Often, once assigned during descent, I: select flight plan menu select last waypoint in the flight plan to open lateral revision page select STAR page select approach/runway select INSERT ...and the result is duplicate waypoint inserted for the STAR after the existing STAR waypoint.Not a showstopper, but just a pain in the butt to clean up all those waypoints. Am I doing something wrong? Are others seeing this behavior as well?Thanks!

Okay, Did my second re-install (MD-11) in an attempt to get my parking brakes to work and again nothing. NOW after this install I am MISSING the horizontal cross hair on the HSI. I really am wondering whats going on here. Any computer whiz kids got any ideas what might cause this? I am using XP and FS9. Vincent :(

But when I fired-up the MD-11, I couldn't find the MONTN6 DP. Hi everyone!I'm new here and do not have any english or american backround so bear with me....Anyway, I have some problems with my PMDG products:When I have selected the 737-800/900 or 747-400, the FPS is going up and down, I usally get around 30-40 FPS at this airport with any other add-ons (like Level-D 767). But the FPS is changingfrom 30 (or 40) to 10, and then up to 30/40 and then down to 10 again. And it repeats doing that all the time, in VC, 2D and Spot view. It's like this with both products. Hi team,As a happy MD-11 user I fly a lot with it.Also I own VRInsight's mcp/cdu and Hat track.My issue is the following :- when using the Hat track with default or other addon airctaft ( incl MD-11 ) everything works fine- when using the hardware with default or other addon aircraft ( incl MD-11 ) everything works fine- when using the hardware + Hat track with default or other addon aircraft everything works fineHowever :- when using the Md-11 with the hardware + Hat track the nosewheel goes 30 degree left when moving on the groundWhen moving the yoke a bit to the right the aicraft goes to the right instead of straight on.Like when stearing 30 degrees to the right to go …

Im so frustrated please help...Since downloading and installing the new MD11 patch, I cannot get the ATS to disengage at all... I have never had any problems up until the new patch.I normally fly on autopilot as normal, then when I am abut 1000 feet AGL I will disconnect auto flight and auto thrust and land manually.No matter what I do ATS will not disengage. I try using the keyboard command that I have assigned, I try pushing the button on the throttles in the VC as well as the 2D throttle panel and it does nothing. HiI'm using the PMDG MD 11 with FS9 and Vista. I have read a lot of posts here looking for answers, maybe I haven't found the right one yet.I can start the LM before starting FS or while FS is running, I've tried loading and saving different panel states before or after running LM. The results are always the same. All I get are the standard weights issued by FS. Just now I flew into PHNL with a landing on 4R. Aside from dropping a little lower than I like on the G/S for short final and needing to therefore level out a bit prior to touchdown, everything was fine. All landing items checked and working, green box, ect...Except as soon as my mains hit pavement, the nose slammed down!! #####?? I've landing here before a couple times without incident. Could this be an AFCAD issue or some problem with ground contact in this exact location of the runway. I saw nothing on playback that would have caused it. Weights were good, speed was 163 on final. OK im a little confused here. I fly for southwest virtual and recently i have been printing out reserved flight plans and on the flight plans are the times for departure and arrivals. now this is where i get lost local time says 12:35 pm then underneath it, it says 15:35 UTC now what really7 gets me is that when im setting up the flight in flight Sim and i set the time to local time(12:35pm) on the right hand side it also sets the GMT time but the GMT time for 12:35pm is 1935. So how could the UTC time and the GMT time be the same if they both show different times for the local time. I'm so confused, :( please can someone explain this to me

Hi there I have started having issues when loading either the PMDG 747 or MD11. Once I load the plane the 2D panel is blackened out just below the MCP (I don't get this issue in VC mode). I have also noticed that the drop down menu options for PMDG from the toolbar are not there eg fuel loading, panel state etc. I look forward to a reply!Regards Alex

Can PMDG users share some utilities (prefer freeware) that allow easy creation of flightplans that are compatible with the FMC? I am concerned mainly with the 737 FMC. It gets a bit boring having to key in all the coordinates on a long route :(What I would like to do is have a program that can plot the plan, then generate the FMC file, and can be updated with AIRAC cycles. If nothing exists well, I might just start writing one! :D

Hello,Wonder if someone can help me out.I can program the FMC pretty well now and fly the aircraft pretty comfortably. However I cannot set up the 250kts climb limit below 10000ft.I am presing the right LSK button and indeed change the climb speed limit from whatever speed to 250/10000 . It does show in the main navigation display as a little 250/10000 in purple. However the aircaft continues to increase speed in the climb when I want it to not go over 250k below 10000ft. The only way i can do this is to physically change point by point in the FPLAN page.Can someone please advice if theres something wrong? Or maybe its just me doing it incorrectly?PLease adviceThanksJason

Fellow Simmers,The attached picture shows the FSX load manager on top with the FS9 load manager below.Both are set to Kgs, MD-11 Mixed Class, Full Passengers and 30,000 kgs fuel.Any ideas why the differences in the ZFW and other parameters.When I try to insert 195.0 in the FS9 CDU the message "Entry Out Of Range".I may have missed something, and I still can't see it.......Cheers

Hello, I was just wondering if someone could tell me if my computer specs are adequate to run FSX with all the bells and whistles. After seeing the J41 preview, I am thinking more and more about FSX. I'm sorry in advance if this topic has been discussed before, I've tried to search but haven't found an answer. I'm simply wondering if there's a way to set an initialzoom in the 2D panel forward view and another one when looking in other directions of PMDG 744X in FSX? Normally when I zoom, I get the same level of zoom in the whole 2D panel, which makes it really hard to taxi as I want to be able to see the whole taxi ways (zoomed out) when taxiing.I've looked through both panel.cfg in the PMDG folder and the cameras.cfg in the FSX folder.I got my copy of the PMDG744X on Friday and so far I'm enjoying it.EDIT:I get the same level of zoom in the 2D view when looking forwa…

Never really seen this before, I going to get it today on advice from others. Im going to use it for FSX, my system runs fsx fairly well, no real complaints. Is there any issues with this product and the MD11 or 747 (don't own yet) Is there any hiccups with Vista 64. And generally how smooth is it inside, lets say the MD11 VC. Does this affect the FPS in FSX, and is it pretty easy to configure? Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

According to the MD-11 ITV video with Martinair...during the ILS approach the PFD shows a magenta line when lined up according to the ILS.However..I'm not seeing that line.What'am I missing / doing wrong? The correct ILS freq is entered in the FMC and the plane is on autoland (appr only)
