On the morning of 27 December 1831, H.M.S. Beagle, with a crew of seventy-three men, sailed out of Plymouth harbour under a calm easterly wind and drizzly rain. On board the famous Charles Darin who's 200th birthday is celebrated this year. 5 years later, in 1836, the Beagle came home after a great journey around the world.I made a document with 26 flightplans to relive this journey and see very nice parts of the world which you normally would not fly to.Normally I would post this in the File Library. Regarding to Tom's latest posts it will take sometime until the library is back on-line again, so I uploaded it here.Of course the legs can be flown with the aircraft you li…

Since the library is still down, ill post it here and put the livery up on my own webspace.I bought that plane just recently, but was not impressed by the PMDG liveries, neither in choice of airline nor in quality. I am aware that this is a pretty old product, so im not blaming anyone, i just needed 'my own'. So i googled a bit and came up with this, its flown by Rossair (which is a DHL charter).Only thing not quite correct is the back fin, which on the real plane also has the DHL stripes. But that is pretty tricky to paint on the model, so i left it out (took me an hour for that one stripe on the back fuselage). As a bonus i also corrected the transparency of the VC textu…

Hello,I've just completed my 3rd flight with the MD-11(FS9) and its amazing. I just have one problem..... the autobrake. Iv'e used the MIN & MED decel settings. The problem is the RED "BRAKES" TEXT stays on even after I've rotated the autobrake knob to OFF. This makes it difficult to vacate any active runways. :( It works fine in the TO setting. Thanks in advance for your help. By the way, this is the 3rd time it has happened. :( FDX706

Yesterday taxiing in my PMDG MD-11 I got some odd message saying "controls inverted" in a green box at the top of the screen. Now all my flight controls are inverted, backwards. Anyone know how to correct this?-Shane Olguin

I too really enjoy flying this airplane but I have 2 question. I have checked my manuals and can't seem to locate a list of weight related V speeds including Vref. I probably just missed them but they are necessay when hand flying the airplane. If someone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Secondly I have flown the autoland approach to KDEN 17L and I think the localizer is misaligned. I just let her do her thing and I touched down quite a distance right of the runway. Anyone else had the same experience? Thanks,Eric

I have been flying the Turorial Flight yesterday and today with v1.2. Unfortunately 3 of 4 flights the sim stopped working (keyboard and mouse functions don't work and Control Panel freezes. Sound continued to play. Each time the crash occurred about 15-20 minutes into the flight during climb through 20000 to 29000 feet. No error messages. One of the flights went to through to landing, after which during taxing to gate display panels blanked out (green triangles), switches still worked although animations worked improperly, and simulator crashed with out of memory message approaching the gate. Since that semi-successful flight, I lowered scenery details, but crashes s…

POSKY has several B747 textures that I would like to use with my PMDG B747X. I like the PMDG B747 flight model, panel and textures, but POSKY has a couple of my favorite B747s I would like to add to my inventory. What is the procedure that I need to follow to add the POSKY B747s to my PMDG B747X. Again I am only interested in the textures. Thanks,Bill Bridges

A short time after installing the latest update to the MD-11 (FS9 on my PC) and FSX on my laptop, I began experiencing a recurring bug. A short time after take off (approximately 1 to 2 mns), the engines lose power and eventually die off completely.I have been a simmer for many years and have a wide range of quality payware aircraft installed on my PC and laptop. I have no "failures" set up before take off. I believe other simmers have experienced a similar problem. Does anyone or PMDG have a cure for this recent problem?Look forward to hearing from you.Seb

Does someone have a list of all FD-modes that exist in an MD-11? and what they stand for and why the FD entered into this mode? ... I wasn't able to find this clearly enough (for me) in the manuals. I can understand the "THRUST" and "PITCH" modes (because I tested it out) but e.g. I have no idea when and why the FD leaves the T/O mode or what I have to do, to get the plane into a specific mode like LOC (does the AP Land have to be armed or is it enough to find an ILS signal? or is a LOC signal enough? ... I can't find answers to these questions) ...thanks for eplanations... would really be great to get more info about thatRudolf

Hi,I was wondering if the developmentgroup of PMDG already has an idea as to what DYI cockpit building hardware is going to be supported with the 737NGX concerning FMC/CDU, FCP, EFIS etc...Also I was curious to know if PMDG is going to supply a SDK.Reason of asking is obvious :( Is Engravity still supported with their 737 FMC (intended for the current 737NG), CP Flight, OpenCockpit systems, or....? I'm interested in buyng a CDU, but am not happy buying, let's say, a Engravity CDU and then find out it won't work anymore with the 737NGX.

Hello everyone, Please excuse me if I did not do a proper search before posting, I am not very familiar with forums, I did not find an answer to my proplem using the search key, but maybe I missed it... If so, I'm sorry for double postingHere is my problem : I use FS2004 with windows vista SP1, I installed the MD-11, and tried the tutorial flight. When it says go to the PMDG menu, I can access the main FS menu, but when I click "PMDG" the screen turns black :( ... I can't do anything... If I press "Alt + F4" the screen returns to the MD-11 cockpit. Does anyone have that problem ? Is there a solution ? I suppose the problem comes from vista, but if anybody has a idea or a …

Hi all.I have found a "homemade" way to manually overfly any waypoint. It's no a professional manner but it works. Tested on MD-11.Firstly, sorry about my english, I will try to compensate for my shortage with a pictures secuence.Normally, the enroute navigation systems try to fly-by the points. This method uses a fictitious pattern to force to overfly the point.I will fix here COVUM as example. We just passed YJN, COVUM next (at 220 kts/14000 ft or below), ABCOT next. I want to over-fly COVUM, so:PROCEDURE:1-On active flight plan page, select the waypoint2-Press the HOLD key (forgot the picture, sorry)3-Then simply Press the INSERT key (just do it, no matter L or R patte…

Greetings all,I'm planning on buying the MD-11, but first I wanted to study the manual. I'm trying to print each PDF, but after around 15 pages the print quality degrades significantly. Only parts of the page are printing. It's not a low-ink issue. Also, when I reboot my computer and try again, the pages all print perfectly. I have a fairly new printer (HP Photosmart C4480), so printing a 2MB file shouldnt be an issue. In fact, I've printed other PMDG PDF files before without any problems. I'm trying to print one page for every PDF page, something that wont make the treehuggers happy, but will make it easy to read. Has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone know how …
