Hey,I wondered if it's at all possible for somebody to please upload the Timothy M. Metzinger FMC tutorial for the PMDG 737. After I installed a PMDG MD11 (FSX) add-on livery on my Vista x64 driven system, this livery doesn't show in the list of selectable aircraft. However, when I exchange the stock's MD-11 'designator' in aircraft.cfg from [fltsim.1) to [fltsim.2] and the add-on's one in [fltsim.1], this add-on livery shows up fine in the list of selectable aircraft. But now the stock one that I changed is gone up in smoke.The same happens in Windows7-x64. When I switch to Vista-x32 and install PMDG's MD-11 (FSX) I can add add-on liveries galore without running into the above described problem.In all cases I used the installer that came with the add-on liveries downloaded from PMDG's website.…

Well it seem that I am having some problems as of the new patch with the MD-11. I cant get any of my settings to stick when I change them. I have tried a reinstall to no avail. The settings that I am talking about are "Done automatically close windows" "IRS calibration time". Also seems that I can not get the 3 IRS to align any more. Not even if I follow the tut. Please a little help here.FSX with SP1 and AccelWindows 7 (Vista)

I know this particular tread has been raised before but I would really like any feedback from people using a TQ6 throttle with PMDG products and FSX. I received mine the other day and up until now it has been a nightmare to calibrate and program with MD11 and 747-400X. Issues such as spoilers not working and throttles unable to be moved to full or minimum thrust. Add the constant spikes from the controls and the whole eposide of buying this throttle has turned into a disaster. It was bought with the new turboprop plane in mind as the levers can be interchanged to simulate different control functions.Before I forget I run Vista 64, 4 Gig of RAM QX6800 @ 3.2 GHZ 280 gtx And…

Hi Captains:The Thrust Reduction Altitude (related to noise abatement procedures) and the Acceleration Altitude are very frequent topics for discussion in this PMDG forum.See what I've found. Im not satisfied by my landings so far, this is what I do, on final after picking up the loc and g/s and when 1000 is called I disconnect the AP and fly it in manually, the ATS is armed controlling my speed, at 50-40 ft I begin to flare, but it seems like my throttles do not retard. Should I disconnect ATS as well with the AP or should they be retarding. It makes for a very bouncy landing or a long drift down the runway. Anyways just want to know what the more experienced MD11 pilots do, I might be right out to lunch so feel free to set me straight.

I have been flying the MD-11 with great enjoyment since it was released.After I installed the latest patch (might or might not be related), I have had a couple of flights where the oil pressure suddenly drops, causing the engines to loose power and sometimes die completely. I don't have any other indications and I don't have random failues engaged. If this happens mid-air or while taxiing, it doesn't cause too much troubles, as the engines can be restarted. (Of course, if I'm doing a longer flight and let the auto pilot and my virtual co-pilot alone in the cockpit, I would probably find the plane in as a wreck on the ground when returning.)The real problem arises if on fi…

I am very new to PMDG and the MD-11. I am trying to follow the Tutorial to get a handle on things and managed to get stuck programming the FMS. I neglected to wait until the computer had worked out the TO C of G and ended up with the CHECK V SPEEDS message on the FMS scratchpad. There seems to be no way to go back to the WEIGHT INIT page nor to start from scratch with entering the plan again. I have had to exit the flight and start again. I have searched the FMS manual but if there is something there about how to do this I can not find it. How do we cancel out of a plan and start another?CheersPeter Coveney

hi everyone, please excuse the topic title but i was struggling to find something appropriate. i suppose like me you lookup the forum expecting some more news about the upcoming new aircraft the jetstream and above all the 737ng.2 but all there is is some mundane posts which seem to dent your enthusiasm (speaking personally) which seems to take out the zip factor. its about a month since the Captain made his announcements known, and i hope if he reads this he might be of a mind to elaborate a bit further on progress. anything to relieve the boredom and reintroduce some ZIP. richard welsh.

I've got some questions concerning the CD release of the MD-11 for FSX.1. Is there any U.S. distributor that can provide the CD version of the MD-11?2. Would the CD version contain the latest update to the MD-11.3. What specifically does the following sentence in the Aerosoft descriptive data mean? During my long and stable cruize, my 747 suddenly changes speed. As a result I'm overspeeding or stalling my plane. For eg from 300kn to 480kn.My aircraft is a little shaky then. Is this just windsheer? Such a extreme speedchange can't be normal.Something I 'm doing wrong?Thanks,Martin

Ok, well I purchased the PMDG 737-600/700 yesterday. The problem is when I select it in the aircraft menu to fly, The sim will start to load. But it stays at 0% and eventually cuases my FS to crash. I dont know why this is happeneing. I had the PMDG 737-6/7 before and had no problems with it. But I messed up the config in the panel causing me to buy it. (first version i got for free). Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

I exported a flightplan with fsbuild (all settings are oke). When I typ in the name of the plan in the fmc (co-route), it always says that it is not in the database. In the pmdg folder, there is a .rte file of my plan, but not a .rt2, that is more common. What's the difference? The default routes that are delivered with the package, do work, even though it's a .rte file.Can fsbuild export .rt2 files? I read somewhere that it can, but I don't know how.Using fsbuild 2.2

With nice help from this forum's guys, I did manage to take off and cruise with 747 FSX with almost no errors ! Now I'm stumbled on approach procedure. As instructed by manual, I set alt to 0, ready for FMC to begin the descent manoeuvre. However, T/D indicator never appears on ND (which as I undestood should, just prior my plane starts to descent). Now, I suspect that because by this time I did not select STAR and RWY number FMC doesn't know when to begin to descent (but it knows the destination point anyway, is that so?). Is this a problem? if so, my question is how can I know in advance which STAR to choose as I can't contact destination airport to see which runway at …

I have Kai Tak (Fly Tampa) installed and, thanks to folks here, can also use my 744 and MD-11 to fly the IGS13 approach and various STARS.I have TrafficX installed (JustFlight). I also have a traffic.bgl file for VHHX that some kind soul supplied (sorry, I forget who).As you can see from the pic, almost all my AI traffic uses a path allowing a slightly wider turn for the 13 final approach.Which of the files I placed in the Navdata folder when setting this up, would I need to edit in order make that change?and errr.... how:-)
