Every time i start fsx and i pick the MD11 or my 747 in the airplane selection screen it crashes to desktop if i try and fly default airplanes it fine and i don't know why i have no other addons i have tried reinstalling it a few times with no luck. i have the c++ 2005 c++ 2008 32 bit and the c++ 2008 64 Bit installed i don't understand what is going on any help would be helpfulamd 5600+geforce 9800GTX6 gigs of ram500 mb harddrivevista home premium 64bit

Hey, guys.I thought I had this fixed, but it's still happening. Here's the deal:Load fsx default flight then load MD11. Go through normal procedures for whatever I'm doing.At some point in the flight, early or later, if I go into FSX or PMDG Menus and come back, the screen will either be black or I'll have corrupted textures.What I've tried:1) rebuild .cfg file. Only tweak in texture badwidth multi=702) older nvidia drivers.3) reduce graphics to almost nothing in FSX and flying in clear skies4) running with and without addons. I hate having to wait for a reinstall download link that can take hours, even days to get. I paid for the re download service and I want to fly my MD-11, but that may not happen anytime soon. I had to totally uninstall FS9 and all files, so I reinstalled the MD-11 and because of the new patch I installed it won't let me so I uninstall all MD-11 files I could find and still won't install, so I hoping to get a new download link, but not happening today. I wish you could just click a link and re download without all the hassle.Michael P.

Hi All,I have just been learning to fly the MD-11. Successfully managed to do the tutorial and custom flights after that. The only problem is that most of the times I like to land the aircraftmanually and so I will always deactivate autopilot. The problem is that once I deactivate it, I keep getting the warning "AUTOPILOT! AUTOPILOT! AUTOPILOT!" with that horn sound. As I make my manual approach, I still continue hearing the horn. Is there some way to stop the horn after disengaging autopilot???Thanks and best regards,James W.

hello, i noticed that Aerosoft have both boxed versions in stock, and can i assume that both aircraft are the download versions plus the March service updates with nothing added. just curious. richard welsh.

only reason I am posting this topic here is that I have had such good help in the past with issues: after running fsx and windows vista 32b successfully for about 2 years I have just suddenly had a couple of CTD's and I am not sure what is causing it...my specs are: pentium dual core 2.4 Ghz, 2 gigs ram; 512 mb ati 2600xt card. In both cases it has crashed using FSX...the screen turn s blue and all i get is a brief glimpse of something to do with memory ?? and then the computer turns off..it finally re-booted after about a dozen tries but i am scared poopless to run FSX anymore...is the cause of this not enough memory, is it windows vista? I have no idea why this aircraft caused FS9 keeps looking for flt1fs2c.dll, and it caused my fs OOM-crashes alot!!Please HELP!Jacky Yeung

I've recently started making the move to FSX and now that the MD-11 boxed version is out am looking at picking this up. The only complex aircraft I have for FSX is the LDS 767 (but a nice hanger in FS9 with the LDS 763 and PMDG MD-11 and 744). I find in complex sceneries (where I tend to fly the most, like FSDT and Aerosoft airports), I get 22-25 fps in 2D cockpit and 14-19 fps in VC where I prefer to fly. Can I expect similar performance for the MD-11? I'm ok at the 14-19 fps, but don't feel I can go much lower--hence the reason I wish to compare this. I know the MD-11 is more completely and accurately modeled (I have it for FS9), but I thought the LDS 767 might be …

Hi, I have FSX Gold with PMDG's 747 running on Vista 64, my question is can you recommend some flight planning software for me that will work with my setup on this aircraft. I am very much a begginer and finding my way around the systems.Do I need flight planning software or is there a better way to do this? Does it integrate with the FSX ATC? Failures always keep pilots on edge. when i am flying a c152 in real life on a x country or training flight, there's always that thought, what if something goes wrong? and i am constantly on the lookout for any indication of a problem. flight sim has come a long way since i started with FS2000, but there is one thing that hasnt changed, and that is the predictability. i know that in the manuals for the MD-11 and 744, and also for the LD767, it gives the proper techniques and procedures to do things. and when it comes to engines, the manuals say to follow procedure and be careful of a hot start and such. and also to moniter for fuel leaks. why? i know i will never have a f…

I just made the switch to FSX and purchased the 744X and the MD-11X. I disabled the firewall in vista and the 744 installed with no problems but the MD-11 installer would not validate the order id number.After i tried the copy/paste method a few times, i typed in the number with no luck.Any help would be appreciated!Alex

I am seriously considering purchasing the TQ6 throttle quadrant from Go flight. Due to the expense of the product I would some feedback from anyone that actually uses the throtle quadrant with FSX not FS9. Information regarding the compatibility with 747X and MD11X using the new drivers from goflight and also mounting options to a desktop when not using the goflight racks.I know posts regarding this topic have been raised before but they tend to relate to FS9 with the throttles.Thanks in advanceAndrew

Hello,After hours of searching in the forum, I simply had no other choice but to post a new topic. Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed.As I was training on planning and executing step climbs the other day, I noticed that a "altitude profile pointand identifier" isn't created for step climbs and therefore not shown on the ND. Top of Descent (T/D) and Top of Climb (T/C) are however created and shown on the ND, but the S/C is missing. This is VERY annoying and I don't know what is wrong.Perhaps it has something to do with my setup, as I couldn't find any threads addressing this particular issue. I recently had to have Windows XP reinstalled on my computer and as such, have to reinstall FS9 and all its components. As it has been about a year since I used FS9, I need a little help remembering how to go about this from scratch. I believeI still have all of my proof of purchases and installers have been saved. Anyone any idea where the original Queen of The Skies promo video went to?. I seem to remember when I first bought the Queen, about 2005 I think, and before I purchased I watched an official video where the Queen was mostly at Charles De Gaulles and it was real sharp and jazzy! It had cool musicand the start was continous flashing to various parts of the aircraft in time with the music. Its not the Aerosoft promo vid, was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about or did I dream it!George

Hello to all PMDG fans!I've started to fly the B744 in FSX since a week ago and I've found a problem with THR reduction in Take off section of the FMC. But first, here is what the manual says (p. 40 in FMC user's manual):"Valid entries for thrust reduction can be any altitude between 400 and 9999 (feet above field elevation) or any flap position entry such as 1, 5. An entry of 5 will arm the thrust reduction to commence when the flaps are retracted past 5 degrees in flight."I can select an altitude here, such as 1500 ft. or it can be changed back to the default 5 flaps retratct setting. Hello,I have noticed that with the FS9 MD11, after I get the message to add drag by deploying the spoilers, almost immediately the engines start spooling up, even before the add drag message disappears. This is quite diffferent behaviour to the 747. Anyone else had this issue?ThanksRenzo

Hi,Has anyone else experienced random crashes and freezes when flying the MD11 in FSX? This occurs at least 50% of the time now. I'm at a point where I might as well remove it from my system. Considering it's an $80 add-on, that is very difficult to swallow. I have tried everything to have a consistent experience with the plane, but no luck. I'm hoping someone else had similar problems and found a way to fix it. I have the FS9 version and that version has no problems. Thanks in advance.Bob..

Hey!I was practicing high weight takeoffs and of course noticed the speed transistion value chaning from the default 250/FL100 to someting like 275/FL100. This is due to my high takeoff gross weight and is a normal behaviour for the aircraft. But... at the very end of the initial climbout, the aircraft shows illogical behavior. First, let's consult the manual (p. 43 in the FMC User's manual):"Speed Transition: The speed transition is displayed in line 3L. Hi allMD-11 (latest version) on Vista x64 in FSX. My problem is, that the wings are more or less static. So, that means, that only the innermost slats and flaps are moving and only the left inner spoiler is moving. The rest of the wing doesn't move... so, no other flaps or spoilers and also no rudders are working (well or ... they are "working", but you can't see that)... the rest of the airplane behaves normaly... so, the gear is retracting normaly, the elevators and the yaw rudder is working and the engines are also fully functional. Also no problems with lights...I only installed the MD-11 and the livery for Swissair (old). After detecting the problem I tryed to fix it…
