Hi,today I crossed the pond to New York. At due time I have performed a step climb passing from FL320 to FL340 that was my opt altitude. This is what I have done:1) reset MCP to 340002) open VNav page on the FMC upload FL340 on the link as my new cuise altitude3) EXECThe "Queen" managed to climb quite nicely in Vnav, but, once at cruise level, I noticed that the engines were still in CLB mode while they had to be back to CRZ. I opened the legs page and saw that the new cruise altitude for the next waypoint as 35000 instead of 34000. I tried to change it through the legs page but it didn't allow me to do anything..for the FMC I was simply at FL340 still climbing to FL350...…

Hello, the other day I departed out of KPHX and just after leaving the ground I got a master caution warning and noted the EGT was past the amber tick mark at 962. Once power was reduced to climb the EGT lowered a bit, but the 962 numbers remained displayed for the entire flight. I was just wondering if this is normal in hot climates? I had a flex setting of 50C and the TAT at departure was +37C.Thanks, Dave S

I'm flying the TUTORIAL from EGLL to LSZH. The FL in the tutorial must be 37000 feet, so that's what i entered in the FMC (FL370). Now I get this message? Somebody knows why?In my FMC flt plan it gives a 40500 feet as cruise level, but i'm flying at 37000 feet, because the tutorial said so. Optimum cruise level is 37500 feet is in the PERF of my FMC.

Hi guys, I just bought the MD-11 pack. I'm working on the automated flight tutorial now... From London Heathrow to Zurich. Everything goes fine until I reach the top of descent point. The autopilot is going down, but way too slow. I tried som clicking on the prof button it said IDLE and was going down, but already too late. Also the speed isn't descreasing. In the FMC it's all programmed, the plane is flying the correct approach but without enough descent and a speed that's way too high. Anyone knows what i do wrong? Thanks in advance!

A short question: Can I use the standard ATC from FSX when flying with the PMDG MD-11 and FMC programmed? If I want to fly automatically with the FMC and the SIDS/STARS programmed for the runways, is this possible?

Hi all,I am a very happy flyer of the MD-11 and slowly reading the manuals i'm finding new informations and tips and tricks...;-)Now, i have two little questions:1) I know that the Advanced tutorial is a "work in progress" and it's matter of weeks for the release, but i'm wondering about the airports we are going to fly in for the tutorial. Does anyone know that??2) Some time ago, i remember some discussion about a Flight/Fuel Planner for the MD-11; is there any news about that??Thank in advance for answers,Paolo Bianchi

Hi everyone,I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but in the first tutorial of the MD-11, at the end when you have landed in Zurich and have parked at the gate, it tells you to disarm the doors by going to the FMS etc... Then it says that there will be a simulated cabin call telling the cabin crew to disarm the doors. I never heard the call.Anybody else noticed this??Oliver Schafer

I just installed the MD-11 from an Aerosoft CD on my computer and the external view of the PMDG MD-11 is extremely blurry except for the engines and the tail section. My computer spec's are as follows: WinXP with SP-3 installed, Q6600 with a mild overclock to 2.67ghz, 4 gig of DDR3-1800 ram, 8800 GT nvidia graphics card, 250gig hitachi H.D. I'm getting between 18-28fps with weather in major airports but cannot understand why the aircraft in the 'external' view is extremely blurry. Everything else is almost crystal clear. Is this normal??Regards, jack

And I am back to my earlier problem/// again.I have managed to fully configure FMC on the ground with SID and STAR, took off, flew, according to 747 manual set altitude to 0, waiting for VNAV starts a nice descent down, but this never happens...There is no indicator of TD on Nav display and VNAV just leads my plan over the destination airport. What you guys think may be a problem here? Thanks in advance,Leonard

Do the PMDG planes use FSUIPC offsets to control the planes and all their additional features, or is it still keyboard/joystick/mouse control only? Thanks!Ian

I have a question regarding the downloading of the 3GB EXE patch utility. When I did a search for my FSX root directory to make a back-up of it I got the following: FSX.EXE-05F37CFC.pfFSXROOT_FSXI'm using the CD version of the MD-11 so I was wondering which one of the above is the FSX root directory? The software site of ntcore.com states: "tool patches x86 executables in order to let them have 4GB (instead of only 2) of virtual memory on x64 platforms." Since I am running WinXP on a 32 bit platform, can I use this software to run this patch utility and will it work on my system. Has anyone done this fix and if so, can you run it by me as to what steps you took?Regards,ja…

  18. This has been bugging my head for a while now so I thought I should finally post this. First of all, I usually start my flights with 2/3 pax load and not above 50,000 lbs of fuel, as I don't normally do long hauls. I set the STAB trim to the value indicated on the TO/APPR page, which is around 5.2-5.5 . I engage the ATS and apply full throttle (I don't use any FLEX data but I'm thinking to start using it soon). As the altimeter rises, I retract the gear and follow the FD pitch which usually commands a 17.5 nose up degree pitch. Okay, so I'm holding +17.5 degrees until 400 feet RA, when I engage AUTOFLIGHT and release the pressure on the yoke. This is when the plane starts…

hi everyone, just a post which i havnt seen mentiioned in the forum before. while some 10 miles out from runway 10 at kord a message on the fmc scratchpad stated ils untuneable. this was an oversight on my part as i forgot to install the ils frequency in the nav radio, while searching for the runway chart for runway 10 and the ils frequency, when i went to install it, the data was already in place on the nav radio. the question arose, why did the original warning appear as to its absence, if in turn the fmc was going to load the frequency anyway. i am aware that in the init/approach page of the pmdg 737 this data appears shortly before the iap, but i was not aware it wa…

Howdy,I started painting -400F and -400 back in last summer and I still seem to get the errors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I followed the instructions as stated in the readme file, and yet I'm only showing the engines in the sim and the body/fuselage is grey. :( :( Does anyone know a much more "simpler" way of painting the Queen of the Skies so I may finally finish my project? Been waiting long time for an answer, and believe me when I say I've been looking for an answer. Any help, highly appreciated. :( Sincerely,Kristoffer Thorsheim

Is there anyone out there using both these programs? F.O.C does have a fairly steep learning curve and questions to the forum at Danur.com can take a long time to get answered. I have managed to get the program working to the point it will generate an FSX flight plan but am not sure if it s possible to load it into the FMS. It is early days for me with the MD-11 and I am slowly getting through the manuals. If there is anyone willing to give me a heads up on the loading on plans into the FMS I would sure appreciate it. I believe the standard FSX plan has problems with regard to the PMDG aircraft. Peter Coveney
