how can i disable the md11 high and low speed protection? i turned the LSAS off and the FEDEC also and any other related system but still its turned on somehow. i watched into the PMDG MD11 manual and also in the real manual and well.. the content in this section is almost the same but still i dont get why its not possible to deactivate it.. i also build in some failures of any related system but still it wants me to go back on speed. this is just for some test...ps: its possible to turn off all of the systems via autoflight disconnect but i just want the autothrottle systems completly off

Hi Guys - I am at cruise alt, all systems are stable and going well. I pause the sim and save the flight, as per instructions in the manual.Now, when i come to load that flight, everything is ok, except 3 of my engines are smoking, the winglets have disappeared, and there is white smoke coming from the wing.Any ideas?Thanks!

HiGot both MD11 and 747-400 well done to PMDG, both great to fly. Using FSX SP2 Airport that I start at loads ok but airport that I fly into ,more times than not, has many buildings missing and some floating buildings. Only happens with my PMDG aircraft. hello everyone, much as i applaud the efforts of the PMDG team in producing excellent aircraft (i dont fly anything else) i have to say that despite the shortcomings of FS9 i am wholly committed to it as FSX means nothing to me whatsoever and i feel i am not alone in this respect. i am aware that you cannot please all of the people all of the time and PMDG are trying their best to extend the aircraft variations to a wider degree, this cannot be faulted, however, i really wish that a concerted effort was made to complete and deliver the 737ng.2 sooner than expected if only to appease the vast majority of FS9 users whose frustrations, like mine, are exasperating. richard…

It seems inevitable that every so often we get the same questions about PMDG product capabilities. Will the 737NGX have HUD, will it have a 2D cockpit and so on. Most of them are from new posters but some are from some who just simply forget what is what and that annoys everyone else who has to point out the obvious. I know that we can refer people to the pinned notices but how about this for an alternative?A spreadsheet notice or a PDF (which probably be better) pinned to the top which has all the PMDG products including the ones in the pipeline such as the DASH 8 and the J41 down the left hand side. For anybody fancying a challenging approach in the MD11 then try Moroni in the Comoros (at night, with a gusting wind, requiring a circle-to-land from the ILS approach). I use radar contact (atc program) on my flights and often times during my descent the controller will tell me to be at an altitude within so many miles from the airport. Is there a way to put this info into the FMC or do I need to disconnect from LNAV and manually get myself down to that altitude?ThanksChris

Hi,I can't change from day to night via the menu with the MD-11 selected. The screen just goes black. The sim appears to still be running normally, although I can't see it.Was at Schipol (EHAM) when I tried this - pure FSX and the MD-11. It is OK if I change the time before I enter the sim.Best regards,Robin.

Here is a photo of Russia's newest version of their MIG-29 - the stealth version. Allied forces are unable to visually see it due to all of the smoke and radar can't penetrate it. Why didn't we think of that first???

Hi, I planned a trip from EKCH to VTBSSoon after passing the Baltic Sea I was to enter the russian airspace where the levels are in METER - iinitial FL was 330 and thenit should be 10100m or FL331 ( as to be entered in the 747 )The FMC accepted 330/331/367/370/390 for the route.I changed in the MD11 to METER indication and entered 10100mThe airplanne started to climb to 10100 but stopped at 10058 m and on the PFD a blue indication came up with 10090mAlso it showed "PROF to 10100""HOLD 10058m"The a/c was ready for FL331 but did not climb all the way up to 10100mI started to climb with V/S to 10100m - but the the planned altitudes in FMC disappeared and could not be entered…

Hi,Devastated!! :(Was making a high performance climb-out, empty, levelled off nicely at 3000 ft (cruise alt selected in the FMS) when "Pause at ToD" activated. No probs - I hit "UNPAUSE".At that exact moment - the sim crashed. :(The routing was......EGLL - RW27R - direct to ILS RW27R App, EGLL.I had however, taken off in the opposite direction (RW09L). I had used the autothrust system for the takeoff, but was flying manually. The one thing I miss the most about fs9 is the rain on the windshields, I never thought something like that would bug me so much, I don't know why they left that out of FSX, do you think a third party will ever create such an effect for fsx? and would it be possible for the PMDG guys to ever create an effect like that for there aircraft, after all the MD11 does have working wiper blades, I just have no need to turn them on :)

The MCDU will not display altitudes after doing a cold and dark start. I use the LAT REV page and insert the SID and runway. When I review the flight plan there are no altitudes for the SID and the rest of the flight plan.When creating a flight plan with the engines running this is never an issue.ThanksDon Lillard

Nearly three years have passed since I spent time with MSFS. But still, I kept all my FS9 PMDG products. I'd rather fly them than any other aircraft. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. You folks have my complete admiration for the workmanship you invest in your products. Your attention to detail has brought me much pleasure in flight simulation. Hi guys,KFCA is my hometown airport. I know the runways are too short for the MD11 but I would really like to plan a flight there. The problem is that each time I go through the flightplanner in FSX and then I attempt to setup a flight from KSEA/KFCA, the FMC is telling me that it is not in the dabase.This is probably a stupid question, but how do I get my airport added or is there something I am doing incorrectly?Thanks!

Hi guys - I use FS2004 with the PMDG 747.I was flying at my cruising altitude, with everything going smoothly; level flight, constant speed, etc. I saved my flight (using the ; button), and when i came back to the sim, i loaded the saved flight.Ok, so it loads the flight fine, and the flight continues. But, the FMC is saying Check Alt Target. The altitude selector (MPC?) is set correctly.But, i was flying at cruise and was level when i saved, but when i loaded, the plane keeps climbing, even tho VNAV is on and the FMC still has the cruise alt set. Also, the speed of the plane drops and wont go back. Now, the MCP controls the altitude rather than VNAV.Turning off AP and ba…

I've noticed that there are quite a lot of great quality 3rd party repaints for freeware aircraft e.g. POSKY when compared to repaints of payware aircraft, so i'm just curious... :( Would it be feasible for payware aircraft companies like PMDG to release their exterior 3D models (without VC) as freeware, and provide a paint kit to encourage more 3rd party repaints?

Can someone explain how I was able to use my mouse and scroll around the entire cockpit of the MD-11? I must have accidentally hit or clicked an area either on the mouse or in the virtual cockpit that allowed me to move my mouse in such a way that it would mimic my eye movements??? It was a lot quicker than using my yoke hat switch.Regards,jack

hi all, i have just been reading the Aerosoft forum, where the Admin. Mathijs Kok, is talking about a new airbus 320/330 becoming available in August 2009. he says it wont be of pmdg standard, but nevertheless it will be available. i feel that there is a relationship between Aerosoft and pmdg, which makes me think that pmdg will not want to steal Aerosofts thunder, thereby pmdg will not be producing an airbus in the foreseeable future. for those of you who are airbus minded, i hope i am wrong in making this judgement. time will tell. richard welsh.

HI allI am running a BETA version windows 7 and have successfully installed PMDG 747 for FS9. I then attempted to install 2 add on liveries. These show in the aircraft folder and are also listed in the correct order in the Aircraft.cfg file but when in FS they are not available as a version only the original PMDG livery. Has anyone had this problem before or know of a work around??? :(

I take off from Mexico City en-route to KSFO. I lost R IRS. There were no incident (besides IRS R), until approaching to Rw28L. AP and A/T were engage. 1000FT I disconnected AP and A/T continue approach manually. Every thing on numbers and no deviation from flight path. I received 500Ft announcement. Suddenly screen gave crash and 747X 400 ft above ground in fire and plane crashed before even touch the ground. FSP report indicated plane crashed to RW 28L.How can it happened I was in visual flight and 400 ft above ground, some thing went wrong either with PMDG 747Xor FSX. Is it possible? :( ThanksSanal
