Missed my arrival airport and the flight plan was a wreck.In the 744 you can just enter a new airport and runway etc in the FMC and execute it for the auto land to work etc.How is this done in the MD-11?Thanx.

According to the manual (Introduction manual section 0.00.12 and forward) it is mentioned that you can save a panel state when required. However...I'd like to get a panel state (the "before engine start") each and every time I start the sim, without having to select one again and again.I know a panel state can be saved when saving the flight in FS, but...that is carrier dependant meaning that when I want a different carrier, I'd have to select the correct panel state again.Isn't there any option to be set (maybe in a CFG file) that no matter what carrier of version (F or PAX) I choose, I always get the correct panel state?

My last MD11 flight. When takeoff happens, advance throttle until hearing a click, but it returns to minimum; try again and again without any success. Throttle goes to CLAMP and TAKEOFF but every time goes to minimum itself. Finally I have to start the flight from the beginning (cool and dark start) to solve the problem. Any suggestion about the problem. Maybe I forgot something in the MD11 systems :( Thanks by Rob

I use an excellent system for the MD11 running on a networked machine called TSR Autobrake. It reads the weather from FS and will adjust the braking effectiveness based on rain/snow intensity runway slope and few other things. Until TOPCAT comes out of BETA I'm very happy with UTOPIA for my performance calculations, however it has it's limitations. Now as we all know the MD11 FMC can give us our V speeds, is there an option to enter 'W' or 'Wet' into the FMC like the 744 and get a wet V1 speed? or where only dry calculations used in development?ThanksRob

Im not sure what happened, as one second I was panning the guages with Track IR and the next I could see through everything.Anyone have any ideas as to the cause? I could never get it back to normal and the 2D worked fine!Shot at 2009-06-01

Dear all,First of all, my deepest sympathies for the victims, especially for the families and friends, who have lost their loved ones on the Air France flight, and may not be able to know exactly what happened. Maybe some people in aviation can shed light on this fact: why airlines do not carry parachutes onboard. I'm having two problems during takeoff with the 2004 MD-11 package. The first is I'm getting a stabilizer warning when I'm throttling up. What do I need to do to clear this warning? There have been many posts on this subject saying "mine works fine" which is not much use to those who can't get the TQ6 to work. I have managed to get mine to work and for those interested I'll run through the procedure. Hi I have a quick question about the 737NG FMC.How do you enter a waipoint that is on the runway departure heading, at a set altitude but not at a set distance. For example, when you bring up some SID's, on the RTE LEGS page a waypoint on the runway heading that reads (3000) with the heading above it saying for example 320 degrees and TRK after it (refer to page 8-29 of the 08 FMC 737-678900). What I want to do for example is, depart Sydney Australia YSSY 34R and at 500 feet, make a turn 023 degreesto the right to waypoint HALLAS.I hope I have managed to make my question clear.Cheers,Nathan Ford

Hello everyone,I have a quick question, i am flying MD11 in FS9 and have option checked in PMDG menu to pause at the TOD, yet when i reach TOD point on the flight, plane just keeps on going, anyone has any ideas what could be causing this? My FMC flight plan does have T/C and T/D points, so when i review flight plan i do have the point with arrow pointing down stating the TOD yet plane keeps going through with out stopping. any help would be greately appreciated.Thank you.-=Andrei Malishkin=-

I have been having a problem with MD11. When I start a flight from the default cessna at Seattle when I go to the MD11F for example the instruments are blank and no matter what I do I cant get the airplane to come alive. If I use the PMDG default paint job I have no issue. Can anybody tell me what is going on here. I have the most up to date MD11.Thanks

Hi,Installed the MD11 with UPS livery into FSX running in Windows XP via bootcamp on a MACBOOK Pro. FSX runs fine on this laptop and all other aircraft function fine.After install, I selected the MD11 and it loads fine at the airport selected. Looks great from the outside but the aircraft is dead except for the MCP airspeed and altitude window. I went to the overhead and tried to turn on the battery. I can get the guard to lower but the button will not press. The knobs appear to turn but no power to anything.Any suggestions about what might be wrong or what I am missing? How about external power? Can you set these aircraft to load powered up such as the FSX native …

Sorry to all concerned as I know this is a time for lots of annoying questions due to unread manuals, however, I have read everything I can and cannot solve this problem. I am arming the spoilers on approach by right clicking (raising) the spoiler lever but when I touch down and reverse thrust they remain down. I would point out that I do have a CH throttle quadrant but I dont think this is the issue as it functions flawlessly with all other aircraft inc PMDG's. Hello everyone!Started playing FSX with MD-11 recently and I have some questions. Forgive me if the questions are retarded but I am a complete newbie on navigation and setting up the MD-11. (I have flown the tutorial from EGLL to LSZH, that went flawless first time round so I atleast know something)-How can I know which runway the ATC will give me? (Either depart of arrive) I mean, I cant fill in the STAR if I dont know which runway the ATC will give me at my destination airport.-I tried some things with the navigation, make a route in FSX and load it in the plane as CO ROUTE, but that never seems to line up with the correct STAR even though I use the charts. one time i w…

Hi AllI would like to reposition and resize the chronograph on my NG's and 747-400 so it sits as an overlay on one of the back up flight instruments and I can bring it in and out as a pop up. At present I am doing this manually at the start of each flight. I have two quick questions, I am no expert pilot of the MD-11 but...I notice if you are flying manual and you bank it past(I think 30Degrees if I remember right) and then let go of the controls the MD-11 will rebank itself back to a reasonable banking degree. Is this a feature of the real MD-11? Is this real in any other plane because I can't ever remember the PMDG 747 doing this.Next, on landing what lights are supposed to be on because like in this video youtube it looks like the runway turnoff lights are on. I just read about Aerosoft's bold initiative to advance the flight simulation world by creating their own sim.See: http://www.flightsim.com/main/notams09/aero0526.htmThere are leaks that this will replace FS flight sims, due to the lack of development on the MS front for a new sim.The screenies look impressive. Hi folks!After some training period with the MD11 I decided to activate the failures, so I can have some more fun and learn better the airplane. Right after I activated the failures, I was in a dark and cold cockpit and started all the startup procedures. The hydraulic test failed, as there was a leakage in the HYD 1 system. The manual tells to call maintenance for that problem, but I don't know how to do that. There's a couple of buttons on the overhead panel for calling the ground crew and the mechanic, but I had no luck pressing them.Finally I had to reset the failure going to the failures panel, but it feels like a dirty way. All;I am now trying to see if I can get the jet powered up and working without just starting the engines with Ctrl + E.
