Hi everyone!I'm new to forums so here goes for the first new topic for me.I'm an avid supporter of free downloads (especially scenery. Over 350 airports not including payware loaded into FS2004) from numerous sites, and came across a new download today.At the moment it is listed on the home page of avsim.com under the title of; - Flightsim 2004 Utilities and is called, PMDG 747-400 Door Opener.Although it's early days for flightsimmers to download and use it, but I was wondering if anyone has done so, and what effect it has had on the PMDG 747-400 they fly.It also has a default keyboard list to use if they do not want to install the program.Looking forward to hearing comm…

Please forgive me if there's an easy answer to this... this is my first post here. When I try to enter an airport into the 737 700 FMC, I get a "Not in Database" response. I do have an active AIRAC file (the FMC does not say "Installation Required" in that location), but I've tried a number of airports, KCLM, KSEA, as well as EDLP in the pre-loaded flight "PDMG-Quickstart", and none of them work. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get my FMC working again? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the 737NG software?Thanks!JPG

Is there a way to get performance tables such as required runway distances, flaps settings etc. for the MD-11?In the first place, I'd like what runway lengths are required for different weights.Andreas

When I enter the route SOMAX 50N20 51N30 51N40 51N50 DENDU CYMON into the DMDG 739 FMC the route is all over the place and the legs added together are 8800nm!!! Anyone have any idea why it is acting funny...

Hi guys,The high intensity strobe lights on the wing-tips of the MD-11 are rather unusual. I wonder if they are realistic. Thet strobes do not flash for a long 3-4 seconds, maybe longer. As we all know, the whole point of these high-intensity strobes is to provide visibility even in haze and high cloud because they can be seen for miles. They are usually designed to flash with high frequency. Just curious about the MD-11 design.Meekal

I've *finally* gotten around to building a new system (4GB memory). I was going to go wth WinXP 32bit, however I am interested in anyones expereice with FSX+PMDG+WinXP64? I'm concerned about driver compatability.

Ok,here it goes again.Plain at the gate,panel in tutorial state,wan't to load fuel via the loadmanager.slider up to let's say 80000lbs.save,and.........nothing happens.I've got in the 3 main tanks 22500 and that's it.This all in fs9.What am i doing wrong here??????Peter

Hi PMDG FAns,I am an owner of the MD-11 and I am very happy with it. There are off course some issues with it - nothing is perfect, especially with a product of such a complexity. But one thing bothers me a lot - others won't be bothered at all because they can't understand the morse codes - it is the morse code representation for all the VORs and ILSs. I am an old radio officer and practiced telegraphy for more than 40 years. The sound of the implemented codes in the MD-11 are not well produced at all. They are lacking of a proper ''point to dash ratio'' , which should be 3:1 ( 3 points equal 1 dash ) - it looks like the developer of the MD-11 had very bad consultants fo…

Gooday,I'm wondering whether the 744X would be usable on my laptop at all (Vista-64, 4GB RAM).I'm currently using the Flight1 Citation-Mustang and get acceptable frame rates with it, at least when not flying into highly detailed 3rd-party airports. I read somewhere that the PMDG MD-11 shows a similar frame rate performance than the Flight1 Citation-Mustang, so I'm wondering whether the 744X would do well enough on my laptop, too. I ordered the 1900D from PMDG today. I recieved a Payment Confirmation Email. When ordering on their site I was not given/shown how to download the AC. Prior to ordering I did register. I check with my bank and the payment was paid (hence, the confirmation email) I did not recieve any emails from PMDG after the confimation of payment.I'm not perfect! Let me know what I did wrong or need to do further.I checked the PMDG site and it shows NO past orders. I tried to use the PMDG system to ask them, but it will not take the inquiry!Thanks guys! What is the shortest possible takeoff distance for the MD-11? Lets say 2/3 full (cargo), and just a minimal amount of fuel for refueling at the nearest airport.Would be interesting to know:)

Yes, another question(s) from the noobie :(I'm in the process of reading the documentation (and will definately finish it), but right now I'm tired and frustrated (in a good way...kinda fun to get the startup procedures down) anyway...I have created a flightplan in pmdg format (.rte) from simroutes.com from KATL to KCLT. Calls for dooly4 sid grd adena1 approach. Although dooly wp is in the plan, as referenced in the tutorial, I took the initial waypoint, KATL itself, and entered a sid from the database by selecting the runway then the proper sid...that seems to have worked okay but things seem to be bad on landing side...I figured my final steps would be do to what the tu…

half our into the flight at cruise alt the two outboard engines shut down and message "Fuel Temp Lo" appears on eicas. Restart is possible only afted decent to lower alt, then afterwords the problem doesn't repeat itself.It happened twice (I flew MD-11 2 times). I looked thru tutorial carefully but found no reference to this...what is it there I must activate?other problem: autobrake doesn't work, it disarms itself at touch down, and I break manually (I have rudder pedals)

Hello fellow FS'ersFirst of all, WHAT A GREAT PLANE THE MD11. I always flew boeing but now!! It's great and great and great!! Hope some small bugs will be repaird next update.But now, when i fly a approach and ILS is tuned. Correct and disconnect the A/P, by the yellow button on you're yoke, all info dissapear. Like G/S and track etc. Is this normal system behaviour? Because reading all the documents, couldn't find it.It looks to me, if you disconnect the A/P you should keep you're ILS info untill you landded?Anybody?Peter

Just purchased PMDG 1900D and tried multiple times to install it, with no luck. I even extracted the .exe file and installed it as administrator. It doesn't show up anywhere in the FS9 folders. Wondering if this is some kind of Vista issue, or something else.Any help would be appreciated. I like the old turboprops. :( Tim Sheehan

HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!When i loaded my PMDG MD-11 in EDDF.1. The cockpit dident exist, it was brown/black2. Just the Runway and landing lights worked3. The plane only respond too throttle on my joystick, NO rudder, ailron . Nothing!!4. There was no PMDG options in the ALT dropdown thing.Any ideas people?

Just a quick question... is it possible to let all the 737 models use airstairs, rather than just a few? Could I edit the aircraft.cfg and change the model name, or something like that? Would be nice to be able to have airstars on any of the 737s for when ATC send you to a parking spot without an airbridge! :( Cheers

Hi Folks.After a few teething problems, of my own making, I hasten to add. I am now ready to advance my knowledge of the 747. I have installed the type rating lessons from the PMDG site. However, again I am stuck. When programming the lesson 1 route into the FMC I get a 'Not in database' error message. This applies to the NORMY intersection. I checked in FSNav and saw that this was part of the J12 airway outbound to the EPH VOR. I tried the other isec's on the route and got the same error, not in database.I then thought that it may be because they are no longer in the current airac cycle. I checked the PMDG SIDSSTARS folder for the KBFI txt file and sure enough they were …

Mark- If a View edge gets dragged even a wafer beyond the edge of the monitor, Frame Rate can drop catastrophically.On the top title bar are 3 icons- Exit FS, Minimize & the middle one,if it shows a heavy bar on top, allows the view edges to be dragged off the mon. Click on this icon to elim. the bar and the view should remain within the mon edges. Or if you wish, with the icon bar showing, drag an edge back a little, so all view edges are within the mon.This phenom will drop my FPS from 40-50 down to 7-8.I suspect this may be your problem.Alex Reid
