I've read a couple threads here regarding the steep AOA and problems with AP on takeoff, but even after reading those threads and some manuals, I'm still lost. FYI, I've made sure the override options for flight controls and throttles are set to NEVER although I'd like to be able to use them. Actually tonight, I bunped the yoke and AP shut off, but I have this option unchecked. Why I wonder?Anyhow, most of my flights are short hauls, so my load is light and I end up climbing way past V2 +10. I tried tonight to see if I could pitch to maintain V2+10 early enough, but following the 2.5 degree or less than 3.8 degree per second pitch "rule" doesn't allow me to stay close…

Hey there, today I clicked more or less accidently twice on the GEN DRIVE 1 DISC button in the MD-11. Because it was accidently I wanted to reverse the action but the button doesnt respond anymore. I searched the manuals and there it says that the generator can only be connected by maintance personel or via the CFDS screen in the MCDU. But everytime I want to click the CFDS button it says "NOT ALLOWED". I startet in cold&dark cockpit. Do I have to initialise something first to use the CFDS? :( I have no idea to get the CFDS working :( Help appreciatedRegards Martin

I have the MD11 on my hard disc and installed 737ng aswell,but then md11 won't start,i mean i select the md11 and push ok and fs9 shut downAny body any idea what the problem could be??Thx Peter

Hi Folks.I am still trying to get to grips with this complex sim. I am reading through various tutorials with not a lot of success really. One thing that I would like explained if possible, is why the IRS system ' resets ' itself back to a time of 7+ mins.Here's what happens and I accept that it may well be that I am not doing things quickly enough when working through the Pre Start Checklist and tutorials.I power up the cockpit, set the IRS system in motion and work through the rest of the checks. The IRS countdown on the ND gets to 0 then goes back to a figure of 7+ with no update of position, heading or flight plan legs showing on the ND screen.Am I doing something wr…

Hi folks,when inserting custom FIXes into the MCDU the frame rate drops by around 50% and the simulation becomes very jerky. Similar happens when you insert Courses on the NavRad page to track a VOR radial.It seems the rendering process requires a LOT of performance, but then again MS did recommend not to use GDI+ for painting complex objects. Any chance PMDG could go along with this recommendation? Are there any realistic alternatives? It seems other dev's have found a way around this problem (check out the freeware vasFMC for example)RegardsMark

Today I will probably buy the MD11. Not beacause I'm really interested in this plane (it's dangerous btw.;). But more because I would like to try the features and support PMDG. There are really no good short/medium haul airplanes for FSX. The closest to a good one, is the captainsim 757 (a really good product I belive), but in Europe the 757's are mostly used for transatlantic flights.I think it was a mistake by PMDG to spend so much resources to develop _two_ long hauls for FSX. When there are so few options for short/medium hauls.I'm looking forward to the 737 NGX with great interest, but i hope it will take PMDG less than 4 years until it's finished.So, when I buy the …

Hi, I want to load any of my PMDG aircraft whether it be MD-11,737,747,747F it says i need to update my FSUIPC from my older version to 1.85? I have no idea what this means? Could you help me out, and send a link as to what i obviously need to download?Thanks in Advance James

I've noticed a lot of times I don't get flap callouts, mostly on app, but I kinda think other times. Also, when G/A, flap callouts are only mentioned when setting a certain mode, like V/S wheel. Has this been reported? Example, I engage TOGA (go around) and climb, gear up, flaps up on schedule. I don't recall hearing callouts but I was busy. I just know when I extended slats going downwind, the F/O didn't call slats extended until I started to decrease my descent using the V/S wheel.

Not being an American I am not as knowledgable about American geography as I would like to be.Consequently I would appreciate suggestions for flights of a maximum of about an hour and a half over interesting routes. Till now I've been flying Boston/New York and San Fransico/Los Angeles but I should spread my wings a bit.I need these routes to brush up my programming skill in the FMC of the MD-11. Cliff

Hello PMDG!This is a third time this happened!I load my sim, and there is nothing in my MD11. Every time I had to completely reinstall to get it back. I have no idea what's causing it. I can't load any state, there is no power to the aircraft, and VC, see the screenshots!Every time I think happened after I did some editing in the Load Manager, but not really sure!

I have just purchased the 737-800 upgrade for my -600 pmdg software. And i have some problems with it:When using the 737-800 i have the following problems:1. When i set my flaps to 5 at takeoff and as soon as I rotate the speed tape show the red dashed line on ALL the speedtape. In the -600 i could use this red line to tell the maximum speed - but that doesn't seem to work.2. another thing about speedreduction - i was flying towards an airport and started my glide slope decent at 240 knots - but the aircraft didn't reduce any speed and my throttle was idle. Then i tried the speedbreak spoilers - and that didnt help either - is this a bug or somewhat - i never had such a p…

Hello Folks.I am new to the 747-400F and I am having some issues with programming the FMC. I hope someone can give me some pointers. Here's my problem.I am using FSBuild to construct a flight plan from EGPK down to EGKK. This allows me to export the plan into FS9, FSNavigator and also the 747 in .pln format. However, I find that I cannot zoom in close enough to fully complete the STAR at Gatwick. I open the plan in FSNav and this lets me put in the finishing touches to the STAR. However, this formats in .flt format. I also have the current Airac cycle from NavData. So everything should work.Now, when I try to enter the plan into the FMC it tells me that the NGY1K SID out …

Hello everyone, 1st time posting... I just got my CP back from a repairman and since then i'm having 2 problems with the 747x. 1st. I can't use the Keyboard command in the pmdg tab. every other tab works fine. 2nd. i can't hear the C/P callouts on Takeoffs and Landings. i have everything selected in the sound portions of the general tab. Before sending my computer in, everything work fine but now i can't get these 2 features to work. i have the md-11 and everything works fine for that airplane. So does anyone have any ideas??? I have a custom home built cockpit and I would like to break up the main panel of the 747-400 into a couple of sections to display on different monitors. I know FSPS won't work. Is there any way to build custom panels???Thank you

Just a heads up:On the FS9 version the tool tip for the Engine 3 starter is labeled "Engine 2 Start."Not sure if its the same way on the FSX version.

Hey I just had a Display Unit Failure and I noticed a possible bug:When a display fails the DUs re-adjust correctly... But if you select any menu item from the SD while a DU is failed, the menu requested takes over both ND screens. Is it like this on the real aircraft? Just thought I should mention it.

Hi guys!Is there a way to have an automatic view change from the virtual cockpit to the 2d one at 100 feet agl,just before touchdown?The reason is that I fly with track IR but I find it quite hard to flare correctly while everything around me is shaking to much.That's why I would like the 2d panel to show at around 100 feet for better flare and touchdown.Thanks,David

Hi,On my last flight, I got the following level 1 alerts in the cruise:AC TIE 3 OFFBUS AC 3 OFFAfter consulting the manual, I noticed that both RA's displayed amber X's, indicating a failure.Questions:What are the power sources for the RA's? I could find this anywhere, and I find it a little strange that they would have the same power source. Is this just a Microsoft limitation?I also noticed that although the RA's had amber X's descending trough 2500ft AGL, the indicator appeared as normal behind the X, and all RA callouts occurred normally.
