I don't know how many others like watching aviation movies. Surely I'm not the only one so I thought it would be nice to share this find. I know, like myself, many have already purchased PMDG's MD11 and have been happily sporting it around the globe.I'm finding it to be a very user friendly aircraft and was very pleased when I found that ITVV has a great MD11 DVD available.The movie gives an outstanding overview and great explanation of the major systems on the MD11 and shows normal procedures in the aircraft and a few abnormal procedures that require go-around in the simulator. Hi all,The views of the MD-11 I control with the head switch of my Saitek Yoke.Because I have VR Insight hardware and have to use Moudeclicks ( connected to the knobs / buttons ) onscreen I would need a saved cockpit forward / overhead / pedestal view.Now I have 1 button connedted to Reset Eyepoint.Then it jumps back to the forward view but it uses the zoom that I have set last.Eg I pan around and zoom in/out. One time the zoom is 0.30 , another time 0.50.When using Reset Eyepoint one time the zoom is 0.50 , another time 0.30.Is there a way to push a button and get pre-saved views ?Also I would like to know how I can have the 2d overhead and pedestal onscreen when being…

So I spent a good 45 minutes on the ground, but I managed to get the FMC working and the AP to follow a flight plan. When I started FS, there were a lot of controllers, but when I pushed back, zippo. I have the worst luck when flying on VATSIM. But heres just a few I wanted to share....KATL-KPVD, via the DAWGS4 departure into Spartanburg vortac, I had some company. He was +2 on my *working* TCAS. SERVInfo (VATSpy isnt working for some odd reason) zoomed ALL the way in....and some more when I app into PVD...(in about an hour)

Is it my mistake or a system problem ? :( I try to explain: On FMS I have selected automatic receiving of radio stations via NAV RADIO button. That means I have not manual-selected any frequency in FMS.On the glarshield (it is there where you can select BARO and MINIMUMS and MAP and PLAN and so on) I have pushed the buttons VOR1 and VOR2.So I am expecting each VOR receiver would select its own radio station for good navigation possibility.But ALWAYS the VOR1- and VOR2-arrows are showing to the SAME station on the nd.Question: Should the arrows of VOR1 and VOR2 not show to different directions and stations on the navigation display ?So I could have 2 positions and this cou…

Hello, as implied I am having OOM issues, my issues are with the 744 in FS9. I know it's not a PMDG problem and I understand the issue is with the 2gb limit in memory usage that 32bit applications allow. So I built a new PC with XP 64 bit and i still had a CTD flying KBFI to KORD (FS Dreamteam). It happened on the downwind leg overflying KORD. I found two AFCADs for the KORD scenery and deleted one, but before further testing I want to make sure my system is "clean" I installed Process Exlporer to take a detailed look at memory usage, but I am not sure which columns I should be paying attention to so I added Private Byte, Virtual Memory (VM), and Peak Working Set. Hi, folks. Flying with MD-11, everytime I try to use FIX menu in MCDU, like type in "SEL/212.0/8", my monitor gets blacked and FS9's gone crashed. I currently use AIRAC0901 from Navigraph. Is it because of this? I'm not sure. I wonder this problem just happens to me, or to others. I'm running FS9.1 with WinXP. Hope someone can help me to fix it. Take Care.

Good afternoon. Firstly, I am Eagle, from Vitoria, Spain.My doubt is about this: I bought the simulator PMDG 747-Queen of the skies; I installed it into FS 2004, after install PMDG 737 NG600/700 and 737-800/900 of PMDG.When I install it, there is no problem. But, when I include some AIRAC, it begins to well-function about two weeks, but without catch correctly the route introduced in the FMC. After the two weeks, the FS2004 is closed without advice.My question is if someone have happened this problem and how do I find the answer. Is necessary any kind of actualization including a patch before install PMDG 747 ?I wait your answers and I thank your attention.Eagle

I dont't want to be a pain :( but at least we should see some screenshots now of the 737 NGX, the COMING SOON it's been there since I discovered PMDG since I bought the 747 for fsx and that is a year ago I do understand they have policies and I appreciate that but I think now its about time.And regarding A320 well I do agree that aT7 would have been a better option but I am still curious to see what is gonna come out. :( RegardsPatrick

Hi1. Just did a short flight and simulated an all engine flame out. Pushed eng ignition override on, ADG Deploy and tried to restart the engines. Engines 1 and 2 up and running again, engine 3 still u/s. After that I switched ADG Elec to ON. After slat extention I expected the RMP's to go on, but it didn't happen. So no hydraulic pressure for system 3. 2. When ADG ELEC is on, DC BUS 3 should become unpowered passing 1500ft RA when flying the ILS with AP engaged. The autopilot should disengage automatically because bus splitting is not possible. So if you want to fly the ILS with AP engaged you should select LOC/TRK with FPA to prevent autopilot disengagement. Floris

I therefore decided to make an Excel spreadsheet to hold different information for each saved flight. Hi , I've a question regarding the autoflight system of the md-11.(after having red all the so great and mandatories pmdg md-11 printed manuals)When ready for take off we push the autoflight button once in order to engage the auto thrust, and when airborne we push it again in order to have the standard default autopilot 1 engage. So we should read on the captain display NAV1 engaged and if the copilot want to swith to nav2, he should push for the third time the autoflight button and read Nav2 on his pfd.But what I see on the fs9 md11 is that on ground, pushing the autoflight button will arm the autothrust, that's ok, but airborne, pushing it for the autopilot, engage it d…

I've just had a fascinating few hours with a retired (after thirty years with BA) 747 Captain in which we flew in the MD-11 from Heathrow to Charles De Gaulle.A comment he made has puzzled me and I'd be interested in others' opinions.When we came to programming a STAR for Runway 27R at De Gaulle the FMCU offered several choices in alphabetical order.Roy, the Captain, expressed surprised at the fact that the optimum STAR is not automatically chosen to match the runway. It’s me again!Here’s the weekly round of questions:1. Has the DITCHING switch been modeled? I tried it after a complete engine failure with the RAT supplying power, and I didn’t notice any indications that anything happened.2. No matter what I do, I can’t get the BANK ANGLE warning to play.3. I notice if engine 1 is started 1st, pack 1 doesn’t come on until engine 3 is started. However, pack 3 comes on as soon as engine 3 is started. Is this how the real bird is designed?4. Hi,I have installed the MD-11 for fs9 a few days ago and wondering if there are missing frames at the windows. I saw the picture in the tutorial and there I could find frames at the side windows in the vc.Also I observed that no windows are there with any reflections. Looks a bit incomplete to me. I know that reflections were discussed but compared to the 747 it seems to be an older dated add-on.And I hope that in this very good detailed add-on the "INOP" label will be removed soon from the WX Radar panel ;-)Thanks for any response on these points,Kind regards,Axel Huttemann

I finally had a chance to retest my flight from the other night whereby the HDG select knob refused to allow me to hold the RWY heading from take-off. Tonight was fine. I was able to use HDG hold and select just fine. Strange. Just an FYI to the team. :(

The middle of 60NM between N89 30.0/W150 00.0 and N89 30.0/E030 00.0 is the North Pole), over and over again.MD-11 FMS Operation Manual has described on the FMS.100.32 as below:Within 2 NM prior to and 10NM after the pole, the FMS transitions to a wings level mode of flight while it transitions the immediate polar region.However, I have not been able to find this function. Guys: When I push the trottles to full position--during takeoff-- I hear a warning but I am not sure what is it saying. I programmed the FMC and set all the settings as advised but I hear this warining... Is it saying "Turn Left" "Turn Left" or is it saying something esle? It does not say "Stabilizer" anymore but I keep hearing the other warning.Can someone tell this old man what is he doing wrong or needs to do to properly to configure this animal, and stop hearing this warning?Thanks,Juan Gonzalez
