PMDG General Forum

I bought the download version of the B1900D on the PMDG website. I have FSX but thought I could make it work after reading the wiki instructions. My problem is that I cannot install v1.1 and the website version is 1.0. Whenever I try to install, it tells me I must install the original first (which I did but since I do not have FS9, I installed into a temp folder then copied the files to my FSX folders according to the wiki). I am using FSX with Vista and it works great.How do I get v1.1 installed so I can get the updated files into FSX?Thanks,Dean Bakeris

Hi allI am running the 737s with FS9 in vista 32 with a Nvidia 8800GT 512mb cardMy problem is that I can't use the PMDG options drop down menu in the toolbar.When I click on any of the PMDG options my screen goes black and the options that I want are there but behind the black screen. When I press the windows key on my keyboard I get back to my desktop but when I click on FS9 to restore it I am back to the blank screen. I want to access the airline options but because of this I cant. This issue only occurs with the PMDG 737.I don't know if this will have any bearing on the matter, but when I load my flight I get a sound from my system like a pop up blocker during the loa…

I have discovered by accident that in a cold and dark situation, if you press F2 the engines go into reverse?I believe this should not happen?Can you please check into this.

Hi every one and happy new yearI have problem with the great Md11 for fs9. I sart a tutorial flight from london to zurich airport. I follow exactly the tutorial for prepare the fms, the IRS, go to pmdg genral menu , option for european etc... every is ok. but when, I think it's at this moment, I sart the APU for pusback and start the engines the FD bars disappear. I saw it before. and when I take off above 400 Ra feet I engaged the AP, (I see it AP1 blue color engaged , NAV and PROF engaged but the aircraft do not follow the route and the restriction altitude it's look like there is no AP??? and no FD bars.I use FSUIPC 3.85 CH PRODUCT YOKE, FS9. Hi,I just get the MD 11 and i work out the tutorial and i have a problem. When i make a turn the hdg on the cockpit is not chaning but i am turning.Also i get messages that the IRU 2, AUX, 1 no ALIGN what i do wrong?Regards,Ralph

hi there,i am having a small problem here.first my pc specs:intel quadcore 2.44Gb memory3x 500Gb hdgeforce 9800GTX 512mbwindows xp profs2004nhancerwith all the livery's i use mostly DXT3 textures.but sometimes the plane come up like thisi do defrag regular, and have a pagefile on another hd. i also do not have any heavy programms running at the background while flying fs2004.is there someone who can help me solve this problem?regardsAlex

Hi,Great MD11. It's an amazing aircraft, so unlike its smaller and older brother MD80, makes me wonder if the same people at Longbeach designed it.Noticing that on my setup (FS9), when I playback the landing, spoiler animation from the external view doesn't follow the sequence just completed. When playback is started with the spoiler still deployed (like during the roll out), the playback sequence starts with the spoiler full up. Not sure if it's just on my setup...Also, the VC window reflection is not utilzed like on the 744 (FS9). Is this a design decision (FPS)? Just wondering.Thanks,Pat

Last night, I noticed that with IRU1 in NAV mode and IRU2 in ALIGN mode, the Captain's PFD displayed TAXI, and the FO's PFD displayed NO TAXI. Both PFD's should display NO TAXI when any IRU is in align mode.Hope this can be fixed in the next update.I'm using FS9

Hi, using 2 monitors (1600*1200) and running FS9 and FSX in window mode. I fly mostly 2D. I detached the FMC and next to it both pedestal (same location) onto the right monitor and the switching between the forward and backward pedestal works fine.One thing though puzzles me and it is apparent in FSX and FS9.There is basically no hit on frames if the FMC and the rear padestal is open, but as soon as the forward pedestal is active I get a strong hit on frames. Example: I'm taxing in FSX on a large default airport and the average is about 22 fps with no panel on the right monitor. Opening FMC and additionally the rear pedestal, I may see 1 fps less. I wonder what the reasoning may be behind the "after 90 minutes - push discharge bottle 2" instruction in case of a cargo fire ???(e.g. SYSTEMS, on page: FIRE.30.3)One would assume, if the fire is still burning after 90 minutes, the plane will certainly already have crashed after such a long time.On the other hand: if the fire had been extinguished after discharging bottle 1 already - why discharge bottle 2 90 minutes later?Wouldn

Hey everyone,I'm not sure if this is normal for the MD11 but a friend and I have noticed that when it autotunes, the PMDG MD11 tunes to the same VOR station on both Nav 1 and 2. Is this normal? I know the 747/767 etc will try to tune to different ones if they are available.Thanks,Cam Jones

I've been having a little problem with early speed reductions after I engage autoflight to engage the autopilot? I've been selecting AUTOFLIGHT passing 400 FT RA, but as soon as I do thrust is reduced and both the IAS/MACH speed and V/S-FPA windows illuminate. This all happens before I select PROF passing 1500 ft. I hope I've explained it well.... I figure I'm doing something wrong. Thanks i advance!FDX706

First off, many thanks for all of the tweaks and fixes in the patch for the MD-11X. It took a while to read through and digest it all!I was one that had difficulty getting the autobrakes to work on the original release version. I ended up solving it my using FSUIPC Full Version; deleting the brake axis assignments in FSX, and assigning and calibrating them in FSUIPC. I'm using CH Pro Pedals.Seeing that work had been done in this area, I deleted the FSUIPC settings, and reassigned the brake axis in FSX...but, the autobrakes are not working...again. The release notes say *not* to use FSUIPC...why is that?I did see a momentary flash of the red "Brake" and/or "Differentia…

I have the CH Yoke USB Version and I am trying to set a command for ATS Disconnect and AP Disconnect but it wont detect any of the buttons I pressed?

To any techheads, INCLUDING PMDG staff.I wanted to do a clean install of BOTH my FS9 and FSX sims. All went well for uninstalling. FS9 reinstalled with no problems. FSX only gives me an option to repair or remove. And then when I try that, it gets an error during the process and rolls back the changes.Can I install it some other way to another partition???I have tried EVERYTHING! Registry stuff. microsoft utilities. Safe mode. You name it, I did it.Goran

As much as I love the MD11 PMDG,I have one very big wish.What if PMDG created an airfile of the original MD11 with all of the handling difficulties?The MD11 was very unstable in the pitch axis which led to a number of landing incidents and accidents.It was told the cause was the combination of the small stabilisizer and the trim fuel tank.Later on MD did some software changes to get it right.What if PMDG simulated this hard to handle son of a ######?I am convinced it would be a big hit,becuse a very challenging aircraft from a handling point of you were we realy can test our handling skills is exactly what the flightsim community need.I been disqussing this topic earlier.…

Hi EveryoneJust got all set up with the 11 and my repaints over the last few days. The manuals are fantastic, so much info I dont quite know where to start with this very complex bird. Is the best way to go through the tutorial and then where to from here? This is obviously going to take quite some time even though I was familiar with most aspects of the other birds, but want to get in the air asap as well.Loved the 736789 and 744, this takes things to another higher level again by the look of it.Congratulations to all involved.Cheers Tim
