I don't know if this ought to be added to the FAQ but on install of the FS9 MD-11 it installs an old AIRACso I suggest if you use Navigraph FMS data make sure you rerun the setup to restore the latest version.(Wondered why my flightplan wasn't recognised lol)All in all a fantastic piece of programming to suit all rigs and users, though some complain lol.Best advice as always RTFM....John E

G'day, Firstly congrats to PMDG on an outstanding aircraft. One question though, I have just completed a flight with the MD11 for FS9 and I noticed that on the progress page of the FMS the distance to the next waypoint is missing. I have flown quite a few sectors with the FSX version, and seem to recall that the distance to next waypoint was present (not all waypoints like with the Boeings) but only the current leg. Not a big deal as that info is also on the ND, but I wondered which version was correct.RegardsPete Carlsen

Another little problem (a side from parking brake that doesn't lock)...My main door is gone!

Just wondering if someone could explain the difference in temp between the progress screen on the MCDU and in the top right of the engine display. Both match ATIS on the ground but can have as much as 30deg difference at cruise. The progress screen temp always reflects close to the forecast temp from The Active Sky forecast but the TAT display is much warmer. Thanks John

This is a problem that I've not seen mentioned here. I was near the start of Tutorial 1 setting up the MCDU when I decided to take a break and look at the outside of the aircraft - after all it does look so good. So I hit the S key to go from the 2D panel to spot view. I saw the MD11 with no textures filled in and FS seemed to lock up. Then it started cycling through views with no input from me - spot to tower to cockpit to spot etc. This was followed by a load dialog box loading terrain & traffic then back to the cycling views.Eventually, after a few rounds of this up came the "Microsoft is sorry but there is a problem..." or whatever with the option to re-start tick…

Looks like I am going to be doing quick takeoffs and landings at KLGB (Long Beach) for awhile until I learn how to fly the MD11. There are NO Shortcuts to this plane. I have been Sim flying 6 years now and have mange to short cut all but two planes. A payware 757 which I crashed without reading most of the manual and this MD11. AVSIM has a review that is so accurate concerning this plane. I am a new pilot that overcompensated and crashed. I tried to fly it like a 747 or 767 and glide in ready to advance power if too low but was too late and crashed. Guess I will be spending my sparetime in PMDG MD11 Flight School!!!Carl P.

Is there a fuel planner available anywhere for the MD-11? I have a number of them for the 747-400 and 737-NG, but haven't seen any for the MD-11. Thanks

Hello all,For the FS9 MD11 (both pax and F):Auto trottle on T/O goes back during the T/O run, only with setting my trottle to the max it gains speed and trust, but over the limit.On a 2 hour flight it seems that the FMC is giving wrong inputs. When I fly level at FL380, after about a hour it goes wild to FL410 with a v/s of 4k and down again to FL360 also with 4k. This happends when T-D appears after a change in flightplan (even when this takes about a hour to the next waypoint). Ofcourse with Autoflight and Profile armed.Even after disconnecting the AP it keeps control on your yoke and trottle inputs. I know for sure that everybody would be sick they've never experienced…

Hello there,I installed the FS9 version of the MD11, hoping the damn auto-brake system issue I got with my Saitek pro rudder pedals was gone but it is not...If I unset my toe brakes axis, it work, if I set it trough FSUIPC or FS9 it do not... I do not have this issue with either 747 or 737 from PMDG or any other plane... I just have to set axis and invert them and all is fine...I made multiple rejected take-off to test the system and only when I had all axis unset, it acknowledged to work as intended.Do you have any clue for me ?Regards.P.S. is a very frustrated that we buy 2 planes for more than a hundred dollars and then when you pt together the plane nobady works here..when i has the md11x working the 747 has the panel in blackwhen i has the 747 working the md11 is a big headachethis thanks to the option that both product are using the same modules and dont tell me that is an activation error or my product is a crack version ...please...i do al i can do for fix this...i installed the both updates..and i still having the same problemso...anybody from pmdg can tell me how to fix that or can i request a full refund of my money...thanks

Hi guys,Firstly, you did an amazing job on the MD. Congratulations are in order. I do have a few questions though.1. Can the load manager be configured to remember the last saved load? I ask because if you close it before setting up the FMC, you lose the CG data.2. When in TRK mode on the FCP, the ND only displays TRK. It does not display a heading pointer. Is this normal?3. In the ITVV Martinair video (part1 at 44:40), when FMC SPD is engaged in the cruise, rotating the speed knob changes the selected speed, and if the change is small, the new speed target remains pink. If a large change is made, the target changes to white. Is this an airline option? I notice in the PMD…

FSX version with update.Preparing aircraft for Tutorial 1 but after setting passenger numbers and adding fuel the payload, weights and balance do not agree with those in the tutorial. Passengers have put on weight, the 6 containers of cargo are 16,000 kgs heavier so consequently it will not be faithful to the tutorial. Have I gone wrong or did the update alter weights.

As the title says...Has PMDG the intention to repaint a "Classic Thai" MD-11 ?? Would veeery nice :(

Hi there :( ,just a short question: what do I wrong with my panel state on the MD-11 FS9-version? Saving from the 2d-panel via FS save menu a panel state named like the flt-file is present but on next loading the situation my panel is again in this "standard ready to go" panel state. Shouldn't load up with the last pane state?Thx to allDenis

Anybody can confirm if night textures are missing. Done a couple of lights at night and Cabin seems to be in darkness. Normally SHFT+L should work but look here

Hi all in the forumI have just bought the md11 for fsx and fsx at the same time so have loads to learn., and have now managed to complete the first turotial at least 3 times. Thought that was sufficient to try an online flight via Vatsim for BA virrtual, and using Squawkbox 4. Trying my questions here first as there is such a wealth of knowledge here. Seen there is an update available so up to this post that has not been done yet. My two questions are:1. Do not think that squawkbox weather engine is updating the fsx weather engineas it did in fs9, am i not doing something wrong or is this a question for a different forum?2. Hello folks,Firstly I must say that this is arguably the best simulation created for any desktop flightsim, and I dont regret spending the cash on it either.I haven't had the pleasure yet of sitting back with a cup of coffee, the manuals, and an MD11 loaded in front of me, and learning the aircraft. Instead most of this week i've been troubleshooting my problem.Since the MD11 install, at least 2 of my other payware aircraft are causing CTD's when you reload the aircraft from the aircraft menu, or load up any other aircraft after using either one of the 2 other addons.The problem persists even when the MD11 is uninstalled using the uninstaller. Hello,I've a problem with the graphics of the VC, especially with the VC Overhead. Please take a look at the switches. From my point of view, they all have a white frame and not a good quality. If I remember right, the switches in the FSX-Version don't have that. Furthermore, the textures in the red frame are flickering. And unfortunately all the fonts in the VC are blurred and the FPS are worse than in the FSX shortly after takeoff. Could these problems be caused by my graphic card?But nevertheless, thanks for this great productWith best regardsDaniel

First of all i like thank all in pmdg-team and contributors to this fantastic product.I noticed after download and install the livery for New Zealand md-11 that on one side of the tail it is still a pmdg-logo..i suppose thats just a mistake :(

I've just downloaded and installed the update, and I cannot believe what a difference it has made! Am I still flying the same aeroplane??The autopilot is just increadible, it's so much smoother and more accurate, but better still, hand flying is now different too. After takeoff, following the FD puts your speed bang on the magenta circle, whereas before it felt like a real battle! Then, just press autoflight, and the aircraft barely changes attitude, simply beautiful! I performed a go-around as well, this was just as magestic! Today flying the tutorial 1 the MD-11 did not start the descend at T/D. 4000ft was pre-dialed in the FCP and should start an automatic descend. I had to do it manually and everything went fine. is this a bug?Roar

As the topic states...in the fuel selector box in the load manager...what is "H" Distribution?Did the usual search (the search engine won't allow a phrase with one letter BTW), as well as quickly scanned the copious reference material.
