Dear fellow MD-11 Users,Could someone please help me to understand the Table on Page L.00.2 (PDF p18) of the FCOM, in simple terms, which limits apply to which aircraft? It's probably just me, but as I read it the Notes (1) and (3) are simply contradicting each other :( Also the wheigts used in the Load Manager do not seem to be the same wheigts given in the table mentioned above (for example the LM gives a MZFW for the MD11-PAX of 430.000 lbs. The FCOM table mentions no MZFW of 430.000 lbs).Any help would be much appreciated, though I guess I'm just reading the table the wrong way :( Regards,Raffael

after using FS since fs98 through to FSX I I have met many online friends through vatsim and through the VA im part of. All of which experience the good ole wind shift problems associated with the PMDG 744 and activesky...its such a well know bug/issue that even the controllers on vatsim are now quite considerate to you plight of not going past FL340 until you dumped a serious amount of fuel. Then the wind shifts happen... Yes we all know that feeling of leaving the sim for 30 mins to get some well earned crew food from the kitchen only to come back and see your jumbo stalling and plumpting into the atlantic... Theres another 7 hours wasted...My beef is as follows...aft…

I've installed MD11 in mi FS9. everything was great until I tried to install the FEDEX livery. It stops and says that I haven't the FS installed. The same thing happens when I try the load manager. Can anyone help me?ThanksJo

Fellas,Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for the update! My autobrake woes are solved! I had been dispatching with the Autobrakes written up as inop in the aircraft forms. :( She was awesome before the update, but now I'm speechless!Now I just have a tough time deciding what to fly.... F1's Citation Mustang, or the MD-11... Both are such wonderful aircraft! For a aircraft systems 'expert' like me, PMDG's products provide endless hours of learning and fun about another airframe. More than enough to keep my head swimming! :( Thanks again, to the entire team for another masterpiece! :(

Hi,Just on a flight to EDDM crz alt was 370 but have got a warning of Fuel Temp Lo and No Ice Detected warnings, it's descending!Anyone have a quick solution I am looking through the manuals.Rob

99% of my landings are manual hand-flown, unless visibility is too low and I need to let the AP handle it. I just completed a flight into an airport with poor ILS offerings and was forced to a visual landing (KLCK). If I want to use ATS for manual landings or single channel ILS ops, what should I be doing? Turning off ATS and controlling the throttle myself from 2500 feet or so? Does leaving ATS on for manual landings work? I know I can, but is it designed to be done that way?Also, how do I arm a single channel ILS versus autoland? EDIT: Okay, I see it says Autothrottle may be used for ALL landings, so I assume it does idle with AP off in manual landings.EDIT2: Sou…

Hi,most probably I'm sinking in a glass of water here, but I can't set up my weights to match the ones in the tutorial, when I hit "FULL PAX" I get different figures from those at page #2. Am I supposed to do something else?Thanks :(

Dear Friends,what a wonderful airplane we became with MD-11, many thanks that for !Using the Tutorial 1 and so I am pushing NAV and AUTOFLIGHT when on ground, on taxi or before. Using a full programmed route with Origin and Destination and everything necessary.After takeoff, on climb-out I push AUTOFLIGHT again at about 400ft AGL but then I become the warning sound "Autopilot off" ! So I have to push it again immediately to re-engage the AP. After that all goes fine.But my question is: Did I understand something wrong in the Tutorial 1 when pushing AUTOFLIGHT before takeoff ?!(Take a look at Tutorial 1, Page 20, under "Taxi procedures flow").I have tried to push only NAV …

I downloaded several of the MD-11 add-on liveries and installed them, but none of them are showing up in my FSX aircraft selection menu. I've installed add-on liveries for 747-400 FS2004 before and it was pretty straightforward.Can anyone help me out?Pierre Yap

Hello PMDG,I don't have the MD11 yet, but I was wondering if a martinair new colors passenger version could be made?I know martinair only flies thier MD11's in cargo configuration, but they still have one plane without 'CARGO' on it. Hi All!Since I was one of those having trouble with shimmering texture and shadowing knobs in FS9.1after installing the update file on my original v1.10.0050, I decided to remove my PMDG MD11 and d/l and install the full version 1.10.0051 instead. THAT DID THE TRICK!.......No more shimmering or shadowing in VC. Thanks alot./ Leffe :(

Maybe PMDG should, apart from requiring people to post their names underneath their posts, also require them to post how many times they did the tutorial... :( "Questions won't be answered until you've signed your post with your real name and flown the tutorial at least once. Hi there,Firstly thanks for a fantastic aircraft, I am really enjoying it, I love the challenge of learning a whole new logic to systems, its all great fun!I have run into an issue that may just be me not following the correct procedure, however, on disconecting the AP on finals I get the audio alert, however it continues unabated until touch down, is there a cancel button, I do cancel the master caution however this has no effect, am I missing something?Any help would be appreciated, I have the latest updated version for FS9.Many thanks,Anthony Milner

I've been learning how to program various aspects of the PMDG 737-700 FMC and have run into something I do not understand and don't know how to program.When flying, I usually use published IFR routes from flightaware.com and recently I tried using one that goes from Chicago Medway to Columbus, Ohio. The published flight plan I wanted to use is as follows:LEWKE GIJ GIJ092036 FWA GUNNE1I can program the LEWKE, GIJ, FWA, and GUNNE1 portions but I am confused about the GIJ092036 portion. CaptainsAfter the first few test runs with the MD11 in FS9, I have one remaining issue:The autobreak kicks in normally but then disengages when in MIN setting as soon as I apply reverse thrust, when I switch back to idle thrust, autobreak comes back on.This does not occur when autobreak is in MED or MAX setting. This behavior was there prior and after applying the FS9 patch.I retested the same in FSX and there the autobreak function is as expected, the issue therefore is limted to FS9 for me.Two other questions, first one re the panel state files - I have FSUIPC autosave activated in FSX and Pete Downsons Autosave in FS9 - I'm using the FS bird now since October and have …

HiI cannot switch active freq. between COM1 & COM2.I fly on IVAO.Can somebody confirm this or just tell me how to switch freq via ACP.??I know that I can switch via IVAP :-)ThanksHas

Dear PMDG authorities Thank you very much for your wonderfull product FS9 - MD11. It is the best aircraft in FS9 world. Avionics, sounds, model (external and VC) and textures of MD11 are wonderfull. But I think that the external model includes a few fault. :( Dimension of pilot in PMDG MD11 external model is too big than real dimension of pilot (you can see real photos ). If you correct this fault, PMDG MD11 vill be more wonderfull. :( With my best regards.">

Hello all,1. Is there any way to abort the APU shutdown sequence if I manually move the START/STOP switch to off? It enters the cooldown period like it's supposed to, but none of the switches seem to terminate the shutdown sequence and allow it to continue running. What am I missing?2. In the wind page for each waypoint, the manual states that once an altitude entry has been made for 1 point, subsequent waypoints can have wind entered in the following formats:270/6270/06/270/6However, the FMC will only accept it if the altitude is included eg. "390/270/6". This happens even though I already have wind information for a prior waypoint at FL390. Can this be corrected please?…
