Hello, I am currently doing a long haul from LAX to MML and ever since I establised my cruise altitude, my altidude strip on the ECIAS has been moving up and down. Now, the aircraft is level but I see the VNAV riddion spike to like a climb of 2000 and then back down again. Any Ideas on this issue. I would post screen shot but currently still flying.

Im getting so many emails about my paints for FS9 . The paintkit i use is the one for FSX it seems to work fine if you know what you are doing so i recommend trying the FSX paintkit and giving it a try . Also im getting snotty emails saying my paints dont work in FS9 and they dont even show up in the list . First of yes they do work you can see screenshots on Avsim or videos on youtube . Secondly the repaints dont show up in the PMDG drop down box when selecting aircraft , they show up under McDonnell Douglas .I hope this solves a lot of problems for people and also stop people from getting so angry when they can not find the aircraft under PMDG . Now either download my p…

Hi Folks,I got two questions today and hope there will be somebody out there who knows the answers.Question 1.)Is there any possibility to update the QNH according to your position (when flying online ) by only pressing a key? It is annoying always to change the QNH manually from standard to ground QNH and vice versa. Question 2.) When I used the LOAD Manager for the MD-11 for the first time, I could click the button for the dual monitor function. After I have re-installed my system, this button is greyed out and no more cklickable. Would like to get at least the full moon during night flights in a fair round shape and not like an egg shaped object. Any clues? One Question…

See the interview in this thread. http://www.airsimmer.com/support/index.php?showtopic=1002Apparently PMDG are going to release 2 new "express" products a year. The 1st product is due for release very soon. These new products are in addition to the 737NGX.

Since I miss performance charts, what runway lengths can I consider to be safe for takeoff and landing? Do I need to take the worst case into account and select from the tables published in the FCOM (I think I remember these are for landings only, so I don't have lengths for takeoff)?Andreas

Hi,I bought the PMDG MD11 for FS2004. Because the Simulator isn't installed in the C:\ hard drive, it is installed in my G:\ hard drive, and when I try to install the Aircraft, I get an error and it says that I don't have Flight Simulator installed. Can you tell me why is it happening and what do I have to do to install my MD11?Thanks!P.S. Sorry, about my English!

When I move the emer pwr switch to ON and back to ARM under normal circumstances, an amber BATTERY CHARGING alert is displayed. This goes away when moving the emer pwr switch to OFF and back to ARM, but why does the alert keeps being displayed when the switch is brought back from ON to ARM? Is this intentional?Andreas

Thanks for the help and the picture of what the 747-400 PFD is supposed to look at takeoff in response to my post about "climb power, vnav. I got VNAV and LNAV to arm after programing for a flight from LAX to LAS (just the right length to shake things out). I still can't get things to work correctly if I am staying in the pattern, which for pattern work in Seattle I would put KSEA in both arrival and destination on the route page.NEXT: I have the expanded NORMAL PROCEEDURES from the PMDG website. Taken from the AOM/FMC manal. When I get to PUSHBACK AND START, after the second item "PUSHBACK/START CLEARANCE it says BEFORE PUSHBACK CHECKLIST...PERFORM. The stupid question …

Hi again, This article appeared in THE MAIL, a 2 week TV program guide on the South Coast Of N.S.W. Australia last week. I thought that it was interesting that a topic on flying appeared in a TV program. I have a non opperating scanner at the moment and couldn't add this to the post so here it is, word for word.Mechanical Issues and what they said. After every flight pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during a flight that need repair or correction. The mechanics read and repair the problem, and then respond in writing on the lower half of the form what remedial action was take…

Hi,after take off I had the situation where the climb speed was very low. Actually she was perfectly maintaining the FMS speed as per F-PLN page, but I wonder why it was at the limits...My cost index was 800 and TOGW 261000 Kg.Any idea? Thanks

I successfully accomplished the tutorial and want to plan my own flights now - without using company routes. Are there any recommendations for a suitable program, working together with MD-11? F.O.C. looked good at first glance, but acccording to support forum it doesn't get much love from the Dev's anymore.

Hello,Was flying two days ago from LFPG to LEMD and got in trouble with a descent constraint. I put a limit on a waypoint but the plane still planned descent AFTER this point. Is that the way it is designed ?I thought "AT OR BELOW" was as any other AT constraint making sure the profile will go below the requested altitude... put a "AT" lvl solved my issue.Regards.EDIT// I would add that sometimes, on descent, it make a step at AT OR BELOW constraint which is not something wanted on many procedures... Anyway I manage manually descent on many occasion but just wanted to say about it.

This is kind of a hybrid PMDG/ASX forum question, but I'll ask here since the ASX forum is so active, your thread gets buried in 12 hours. Is it possible to load PMDG-format flight plans into ASA's "load flightplan" feature? How are you all flying your 747/MD11 with ASX/ASA/ASv6? Do you just specify departure, and destination, and go with that?

The MD11 is my favourite FS-airplane at the moment because it is so different to the Boeing aircrafts (as is the MD80). While I enjoy to learn about those differences, I still have to say I prefer the layout/logic of the Boeing-cockpits and their versions of FMCs. Maybe it is simply by custom, because I have grown accustomed to the Boeing philosophy - I don

Vergleich Flugsteuerungssysteme 737, A320, MD-11 is an interesting article in German where the author compares manual flying characteristics of B-737, A320 and MD-11. The conclusion is that the MD-11 is the "worst", being a mixture of 737 and A320 philosophies with the most problems at the longitudinal axis.Andreas

Hello there,Just find as an attachement the modified LFPG file that avoid Black screen when chosing a SID.Rather than destroying departure, I merged those that share the same trajectory, which means that you have just now about a half of the initial number of 159 departures. You have 8 main type of departures : 1A, 1B for LFPG and LFPO facing West 1D, 1E for LFPG facing West, LFPO facing East 1G, 1H for LFPG and LFPO facing East 1K, 1L for LFPG facing East and LFPO facing West In example, if you have a 1A departure, it will be rwy 27L or 27R but it share the same trajectory as 1D... Except for few departures like DORDI or OL which are special departures, first for low a…

Is there a way to park the ILS Nav radio on a NPA if the runway has a ILS frequency? For example, last night I flew the NDB 07R to EDDF and the ILS radio autotuned the frequency. I've tried the delete key but I got prompted with the FMC message "Invalid Delete".I then changed the frequency manually but I find it annoying to have the manually tuned ILS frequency and course displayed on the EADI in a NPA. Deleting the manually tuned inputs places the ILS radio back in autotune and I get a LOC and G/P deviation scale on the EADI.Thanks in advance...

Hi, This is not directly related to PMDG but thought I would give a heads up for those not in the know and striving for more realism. I have been using a program running of a networked PC called TSR Autobrake with the 744 and now the MD11. I was unaware they had released a new version so here are some of the features. The Program reads you Active sky or FS weather and effects the FS Runway surface.Braking action depends on Wet/Dry/Snow/Slush and has a Anti Skid feature built in. It Also detects runway slope and runway condition at at airports.Anyway it really makes you think about planning your landings at high weight and severe weather and works perfectly with the MD…
