It would be nice to add an affordable 2 piston sim motion to my flight chair.....if you could rig up the hardware do you think there is some open source software to run it in X plane? or would Austin have to integrate it....?

between the Aerobask DA42 and DA62, which one is better re. visual modelling or looks better in x-plane 12, any suggestions? simulation and flightmodelling wise I assume they are very close, they cost both the same 39.95 I think the DA42 was released after the DA62, so is the DA42 more advanced from a simulation point of view because it is only compatible with xpl-12 ? unfortunately the G1000 looks awful and fuzzy in both 😀, just like the GNS 530/430. why can LR not come up with state of the art graphics like others do? they all look out of focus as if I needed glasses. which one would you recommend?

I'm thinking about getting the Felis 747. My only question is does it a nice way to time skip? For instance, the Tolissi have a next waypoint skip that is excellent. I looked at some reviews but there's no mention about this feature or lack thereof. Thanks!

Austin is live with Swiss001. Anyone else thinks this was a horrible idea? I don't think this is going well. I stopped watching after comments about Austin's underpants.

New to XPlane from other sims, so I already have the likes of Charts, EFB, LNM, P2ATC which are working. My interest in the sim is for top quality business jets, so already got the Challenger. Interested in what users would consider the "essentials" for XPlane. Any answers appreciated... G

Cirrus-stratus / Cirrostratus / Cs clouds in the latest beta 12.05b1 are apparently being modelled as cloud puffs ? I tested under various scenarios where IRL there were high clouds, and whenever XP12 loads real weather what get's represented in place of those layers are puffs of little cumulus clouds as if rather disperse Cc - Cirrocumulus - instead of Cs. Looks weird and spoils the overall effect of weather depiction, specially when there are no other cloud layers bellow...

It was only announced yesterday but the Aerobask Diamond Da42 is now available for XP12 ONLY on the X-Plane.org store for $39.95 If you've seen their Da50 or Da62 in XP12 then it won't surprise that it's another little beauty. It's perhaps a little less exciting than either of it's bigger siblings but its a well equipped, modern (very) light twin that's simple to fly, looks great, sounds amazing (the twin engines sound like the angriest wasps in the world) and seems to handle impecably. Coming from XP11, was a really good experience for me with the Q2. what is the current status of VR in 12 ? I'm not expecting sliders to the right, but I do want this smooth flying as it is in 11. is performance acceptable? Hi friends, I’m testing the XP12 demo and thinking about buying it. I have MSFS with the PMDG 738 and Fenix A320, but I was a heavy XP11 user and I’m curious about 12. I have this PC: AMD 5800X with 32Gb 3600 RAM, AMD RX6800XT 16Gb, 1GB SSD with W11 and dedicated 256Gb SSD for XP. UWQHD monitor. All drivers and W11 up to date. XP12 demo 12.04r3. These are the settings I have now in XP12. With these settings, with Zibo at KPDX sitting at runway, I get about 32FPS in VC. I notice some microstutters here and there, not brutal but still noticeable. Do you think it’s normal? Or I should get more performance?

🙂 I start to believe that Austin can see a five cents coin at 2 miles distance large as his hand!!! 🙂 But unfortunately myself at 77 I am playing this simulator with a large magnifier next to me! Is there anyone who knows a trick to enlarge the menus and fonts in order to not brake my neck every time I need to read something!!! 🙂 Thank you for your suggestions JP Reuland

Today I encountered a number of significant internet outages on my internet connection (Signal but no broadband internet). What I encountered with XPlane was this I had added some liveries and then went to start XPlane as normal using the XPlane exe - there was a lag in the start and then a dialoque box appeared advising me that the copy was the Demo and unregistered and to enter the KeyCode I got when purchased XPLANE. I did this but it failed and then it advised it was starting XPlane in DEMO mode only! I presume therefore that on start XPlane is starting and confirming via its main servers that this is a full and legitimate copy and because it could not do that we…

Hello all. One thing that sometimes bugs me to no end is the flickering. At times it is utterly eye-cancer-inducing. Doing some google-fu I came across a thread at the org with a settings.txt 'hack' I decided to try. Sure enough. Way better (however at a slight FPS cost): Lots of shimmering and jagged textures - XP12: Rendering Options - FPS - Hardware Settings - X-Plane.Org Forum (the tip is by an individual called alian2000).

Hello! Recently I have installed vulkan on my laptop to test out the preformance i get, as this is my main station for the time being. When I load up aircraft, I get this display glitch on the PFD/NDs. An example is the Jardesign A320, as shown in this post. Are there any solutions to this? Any help would be appreciated. Hi all, I'mm using XP12. I noticed tonight that the cockpit camera and external cameras on the Vision Jet are completed zoomed in. None of the zoom commands work. I can move forward and backward but everything is still zoomed in. All I see in the pilot view is the dashboard in very fine detail and extremely zoomed in. I downloaded other camera profiles in X-Camera and it's still the same. Do you guys know what's going on? How do I fix this issue? Thanks!

Hi, I'm constantly getting stutters when banking the plane, my test is to take take off from EGPH runway 6 and immediately bank hard left, everything i try the game just stutters and this is only using the default Cessna 172. My pc specs are 5800x3d, Nvidia 3080 32GB DDR4 RAM. I run my 4k monitor at 60hz with gsync on (verified the games using vsync by using the nvidia control panel option) although i have tried using fixed refresh rate and it still stutters. It doesn't matter if i have all game setting to the right or left it still stutters when the plane is banking Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it, i play other games (MSFS, DCS, IL2, iracin…

Good afternoon I have tried most of YouTube and forum answers but still as per today March 24 2023, both versions of x-plane and Zibo( all updated) give me the same announcement. I’m looking to get one of these aircraft now that they have a 30% off sale. Which of the packages for either airplanes would you recommend? The have many versions of the same aircraft and I’m a little confused I’m running at the moment XP12 so I’m going to have to wait until the XP12 version is released.

So, I've spent better part of the past week-end to try to iron out performance and trying out some new and old stuff I have for XP. I caved and bought the ToLiss A340 and I love it to bits. In order to get some more life into XP I realised I had purchased World Traffic 3 several years back and installed it into XP12. Running the sim locked and backing off from setting to much stuff in Nvidia settings I believe helped with the performance part. Now I am using WT3, XPRealistic, Avitab (with my Navigraph sub so nicely integrated), Better Pushback for my immersion and I am really enjoying my time in XP again.
