I’m intrigued by a y.tube vid recently posted (by DrishalMac2) about ‘Auto Ortho for XP’ / streaming Ortho. Anyone tried it / using it ? Would appreciate understanding if this is really a ‘thing’ and how practical it is. Cheers,

I can no longer open X-Plane 12, nor the X-Plane-Installer. They start and hang without showing a Window. I can kill them in Tast Manager. It might be a Geforce issue, because I recently updated to the newest drivers. Any ideas?

Hi folks, It appears there are two E-Jets for Xplane 12, Xcrafts and I think SSG; I am very keen on a very realistic, detailed Embraer, as close as possible to the manuals and real life, but I was put off by comments made about the XCrafts version, that it lacked quite a few basic functions and autoflight modes. Is that still the case?

I'm excited by the planned volumetric fog and rain (Thomson said it is a requirement for the Level-D sims running X-Plane as a visual engine).

I usually avoided using X add ons cause they would screw up the program... but I got LNM again and this time the download had some kind of permission check imbedded in it and that worked so LNM works fine on my second monitor using an M1 Mac 16 gig. I was wondering what other stuff I could get and migrate over to my 24 inch side monitor.Air Manager isn't free so that's out.Until its about 10$ anyway.Are there other add ons that include a Mac permission check that might say display your airspeed ,hdg,alt, etc in a nice box that you could pin on the screen somewhere..?or any other useful low cpu utilities that are good to have on the screen?

I can not install little XP connect to my Mac. The password entry is locked and I can't seem to bypass this stumbling block. Is there a work around?

I'm running the latest X-plane 12 release and have the RealityXP GTN650. It was working, but now if I fly an LPV or a LNAV+V the CDI shows only horizontal guidance. It also has been doing some odd stuff when loading freqs in that it will initially take the new freq and let me flip it to active, but then changes it to what it wants it to be. But the glideslope issue is paramount. I have the GTN on a secondary airnav touchscreen. it all worked fine for a week or so. I've not checked to see if the ILS runs the vertical guidance on the CDI.

Volumetric lighting is disabled by default because it can be buggy sometimes but you can turn it on by changing the value of dataref sim/private/controls/lights/do_spill_fog from '0' to '1'. After this EVERY light source throws out realistic volumetric lights. Car head lights, street lamps, airport apron lights, aircraft lights, airport ground vehicles. Pretty much everything. Since the lights are real time volumetric, they interact with the weather conditions dynamically and produces some very interesting visuals. Try it yourself.

Im a flight simmer who hasnt been posting or hell made a account and today I wanted to ask the question is mantaining XP as a sim (buying addons etc) worth it?

I see Thranda released their rendition of the BN-2 for X-Plane 12 today, then Nimbus has updated their version. Has anyone tried either of them? It looks like if you own the Nimbus for XP-11, you'll get the upgrade to XP-12 version for free.

I am a new Xplane 12 user and am having difficulties getting the program set up. I have a Commercial license with Instrument and CFI ratings. I have over 2000 flight hours in a wide variety of Cessna aircraft, a 1978 Piper turbo Arrow and a 1983 A36TC Turbo Bonanza. Unfortunately medical issues have taken me out of the cockpit. Hi All, I am interested in disabling the XPlane-11 physics model to test a research flight dynamics model. The procedure I want to do is as follows: 1. Disable XPlane-11 flight engine 2. Read button/switch status's and control (joystick/throttle/peddles etc) positions via UDP. 3. Feed this though research flight model 4. I have this e.g. south of GCFV (above) but also elsewhere. Not in every roundabout, but in many. I'm using the simheaven scenery and I have the suspicion, since the Microsoft building footprints were incorporated, these buildings in roundabouts appear. It kills the immersion.

Any problems with putting LNM on a second monitor in X 11 on an M1 Mac set up?

Hi folks, just in the process of setting up my XP-12 system to run alongside my MSFS. I've mostly been using MSFS since it arrived but I also got XP-12 when it came out, and I've found myself using it quite a bit recently. I like them both, for different but sort of similar reasons. I've been setting XP up to use various bits and peices from my old XP 11 setup, and most of the scenery I've tried so far seems to work ok, particularly Orbx's True Earth, I'm also sticking the SimHeaven stuff on there, and the V_Sims Ortho packages (I had Forkboy's stuff on XP11) and the combination of all that stuff is looking great.
