Featured Replies

He does a full flight in the Zibo this time. He gave thoughts on how it compares to PMDG also at end.

Unfortunately again with the usual trolls and haters, the worst being @activeX who appears in every XP-forum to spread toxicity and mock everyone liking XP. It would be great if someone could silent that guy. I tried to report him to YT but he is still around.

Just watched this video and talk about a biased opinion against Zibo 737. I would rather listen to someone not on PMDG test team.

Heh, can feel this is going to be yet another thread where the defense force is gonna work overtime to do ad hominems and dismiss everything said.

That activeX makes a career out of bashing X Plane where ever possible and anything he said should not be given any consideration whatsoever. He is total bias against X Plane, after all he names himself activeX so he is firmly in the MS camp and that name alone tells you where he stands on any issue.

YouTube has over 2 billion monthly users. If everyone reported someone trolling, how many reports would they have? Further, trolling is subjective. What one person considers trolling, is considered valid to another person. So, YouTube is not going to ban someone for an opinion unless they do something that violates the Terms of Service. On the internet you need to have a thick skin and not take things personally.

He is not only trolling but keeps attacking people.

Systems seem simulated on a deeper level (like the direct to trick I tried which messed over VNAV), graphics are much better. Sounds also seem better. Zibo has some things PMDG still lacks like the ground roll sounds, but overall you can hear the PMDG sounds are clearer in my opinion. The point where zibo clearly wins are flight dynamics and depending on the point of view the variety of options available, depending on which options you're looking for.

I don't understand the reason to compare freeware products versus payware products. 🤔
A freeware product does not have the obligation of perfection. Even if it's buggy... it doesn't matter... it's free.
A payware product, on the contrary, has the obligation of perfection because the customer doesn't pay money to buy "the bugs", he wants a possibly flawless product.
So that comparison makes little sense.
Zibo wins.
Even if the Zibo has bugs or imperfections, it still wins the comparison because it's a free aircraft, it costs nothing, so the customer can't complain about anything.

Maybe its not about "winning" but wanting to know which option will provide the most realistic 737 simulation.  Its being compared to a payware product  because it justnso happens to be the only 737 simulation that can play in the same league as pmdg.  I couldnt give a rats behind who the developer is I just want realism. And for something I may use for 1000 hours I couldnt care less if its $50 or free.  If its not immersive enough for me I dont care how free it is im not going to waste my limited spare time with it.

This one made me chuckle. To a certain degree, just turn up your volume!!

What on earth are you talking about? I didn’t hear any “bias”. His evaluation was based on the expected behavior of a real 737, which he has years of experience flying.

Many aspects of the Zibo he quite liked. Some features he thought were better than PMDG, others not as good. His comments about the sound levels on the flight deck compared to the real thing were not “biased”. He should know what the real flightdeck should sound like. Some of that could be his specific settings, as I assume sounds can be customized.

His comments about the overly “twitchy” yoke with autopilot engaged were accurate, and his statement that “it shouldn’t do that” were based on the real airplane.

His overall impression was quite favorable - especially considering that the Zibo is free.

It seemed an eminently fair evaluation.

This isnt true, simply because as a simulator you cannot perfect everything. That is simply a foolish demand on developers, and people are not willing to pay for perfection. Just look at all the angry comments about prices each time a new release is made.

The other funny one was complaining about the EICAS screens but couldn't spit anything out other than "something just doesn't look right". Come on now, use your words! Probably weren't actually any on that topic to begin with...

Hence the reason I feel so sorry for developers. People seem to spend more time poking things at minor issues instead of enjoying it. Even Thandra are looking at other options because of there Kodiak release. People need to wake up, it hard, expensive, time consuming and research intensive, to develop a reasonable simulation. But it seems to me that even Xplane users spend a lot of time trying to make it fail. If something is wrong, it totally ruins the addon and you have the evidence let someone know, the number of rivets dont count. OK.

Leave it at that.
