Is there any update or information on the development of the Garmin G3X for x-plane by Reality-xp or others?

I don't see this often shown in screenshots or talked about, but the seasonal support in X-Plane 12 is really a big step up from X-Plane 11 and also approaches used in the older sims such as FSX, P3D etc. Not only have they nailed the look and feel of the sky, atmosphere, but also the snow/vegetation colouring is really convincing to me. I just like this shot, and XP12 tends to produce a pretty high percentage of "forum posting" worthy screenshots lately, maybe because of VisualXP enhancements too. Can't tell for sure, but I know I really like the lighting and overall atmosphere, it doesn't look "CGI like - render like" like MSFS. My wife took a look at the shot, and she said "it looks like a photo". Well, that is enough for me. 😄 ORBX Spain HD + VisualXP + freeware Alouette III HSF.

Worth noting that it appears some older XP11 aircraft sucessfully modified to work in XP12 (not overly complex etc) have hit a major hurdle with the latest update to the beta (12.08.b2) not sure why and cannot find out why but the FPS which was fine for previous versions just hits the wall with a couple of these older aircraft - e.g RW Design DHC-6 Twin Otter worked fine until 12.08 still works but the FPS went from 60 as normal on my system to 30 (but only for a default livery) change the livery and the FPS dropped to below 20 effectively a 60% plus loss of performance. Another carryover bites the dust until it is updated (If it will be which I doubt). Others …

HSF team, members of whom have worked on the Rotorsim EC135 and excellent EC130 have a new helo out and this time it's a Freeware SA316B Alouette IIII (for XP12 only) I'm really liking it - it's not as hard-core as the payware SA315B Lama but that's no bad thing, instead what you have is a simple, fun and relatively easy to fly utility turbine helicopter that looks good overall, comes with a whole heap of options and best of all doesn't cost a penny. Just a thumbs up regarding the availability, at the new merged site of ELITE SIMULATION SOLUTIONS now hosted by their USA office. I'm not sure exactly since when ELITE made their own drivers for X-Plane available, but before these were payware and developed by another firm. The new version, which I am now using with XP12 is developed by ELITE and free to use for ELITE hardware owners. Nice to be able to use my ELITE Twin TQ and GNS 430 / 530 unit with X12 !!!

Inexpensive, but I'd like to have feedback from those among you who use it. How's the installation /configuration, specially if you use non-default (WED edited for traffic routes) addon airports? What about it's ATC feature, which can supposedly control your aircraft and also the AI, just as I am having with FSHUD in Prepar3d ? Thanks!

Hi Everybody, Is there a way I can turn off the 3D rain streak effect, the animation looks nasty. I found I can resize the rain drops using a LUA (set("sim/private/controls/rain/scale", 0.40)) script, but haven't found a way to remove the streaking. I was able to remove the streaking using the developer menu, but that seems to be broken in the latest beta. Thanks

I am currently running X Plane 11 with Air Manager (displaying CESSNA 172 Instruments inc. G530 on a separate touch screen monitor), Knobster, Honeycomb Yoke and Throttles and Saitek Rudder Pedals. I have provisionally booked some flying lessons for next summer so I want this setup to be as realistic as possible to allow me to practice as much as possible between now and then. Is there any reference material available for optimising this setup so that sim time can be counted as flying time.
