Interested to know the AVSIM opinion about the realism of the modelling of turboprops in X-plane 12. I am slowly immersing myself in the, recommended on these pages, freeware C90 Evo G1000. As Vlad.A in his excellent you-tube video put it; a great aircraft as comfortable flying into grass strips as into airports. At almost airliner levels of complexity it can be realistically flown single pilot and is much more hands-on, not least the power units. What are AVSIM readers opinions about the turboprop modelling, torque / ITT limitations, alterations with temperature pressure environments, system loads etc ? Cheers Tim

Hi there, I have just come across an ad for the FPS E195 and have been looking for a detailed and realistic E-Jet; does anyone have any experience of it? There is another E-Jet in Xplane but I was put off by the fact that it couldn’t do holds and VNAV, I believe, wasn’t simulated - is the FPS any better? thanks folks

I uninstalled AutoOrtho. I deleted all traces of AutoOrtho files/directories from the PC I cleaned the registry I rebooted. Installed Dokan Installed AutoOrtho 0.7.2 Directories to XP12 are set correctly for the root of XP12 and the custom scenery folder. I created folders for the cache and downloads outside of XP12. I run AutoOrtho and watch it download z_na_00.zip to z_na_35.zip. I see y_na_overlays.zip After downloading the last file (z_na_35.zip) the button to the right of the north America Ortho Set just shows 'working' The message at the bottom of the window still shows 'downloading' The window stays like this forever, with no indication t…

This turn around I decided to push Nvidia Experience into my Win 11 install, and even defined a specific Game profile for XP12, although I still use Inspector to set specific MSAA values... I never install the sound drivers, but i do install both the graphics and PhysX ones... Previously i used to run DDU in safe mode, then install each new driver from scratch in expert mode. Nvidia Experience notifies me of new versions I and already pushed the first update through it, installed also in expert mode,but I'm not sure it it cleans the shaders cache? Hi Everybody, I have one item that I know of to look at and then I'll get the latest re-shade edits uploaded to version 4.0. To achieve this type of lighting you will need to have re-shade 4.9.1 installed and use three (clarity - LumaSharpen - MagicBloom) effects , as well as a copy of my night lighting (Bright Mercury set used in this video) edits, links are provided in the video description. For the price of one decent addon, I got both. I was tired of waiting and really, really needed a good 737-200. Now. If they ever come through with the v4 then it will be half price. If the 727 goes on sale, I'll pick that up, too. Just made my first flight and had a blast. Neither version of X-plane knows the other is installed, so that was drama free. In 12 the Felis 747-200 continues to amaze. But for the Coolsky DC-9, A2A Connie and Aerosoft DC-8, I would probably go ahead and uninstall P3D. As it is, I have flown it maybe twice in three months. Have never felt the love for MSFS (not that it's bad, just not my cup of tea).

The lighting in X-Plane, is 2nd to none. I could easily mistake this for a real world sunrise. @Biology can you confirm if this is your lighting, some other plugin, or default? Scenery is from Zero Dollar Payware, Anchorage, Alaska. It is available for free download.

Just a heads up, the new update for Ortho4XP is now on github https://github.com/oscarpilote/Ortho4XP This does X-Plane 12 compatible meshes (with season support, bathymetry, etc). Oscar indicates that some of the water features might not look too good until 12.1.0 is out. Happy tile compiling!

According to Laminar and part of their slides from the Montreal conference, X-Plane 12 has, in just under 18 months, outsold X-Plane 11 by 12%. This is great news, and coupled with the new in game marketplace, this will put to rest any doubts about X-Plane's future. Feel free to download the PDF, and scroll down to Page 6.

So, I pushed the latest XP12 update and am running it with only default graphics plus an NCP or NI profile where I basically set max fps to 30, disable threaded optimization and have that option that I once learned and used as per Q8Pilot suggestion - for sharpening - disabled in the registry and not present as an option in NCP, but! XP12 looks pixelated ? Is this a thing of the latest version ?

After many years of real world aeroplanes and simulation flight in fixed wing aircraft I needed a change and thought time to take up Helicopters. I had downloaded a couple including the Bell 47 and the Latest Schweizer 300GI Trying to stay simple at the beginning. So I thought I would start with the one and only lesson in Xplane - sort of helpful but not very to my mind a few clues but not enough! Search of the Net did not provide all that more but a couple of good intros to pore over for awhile.
