I chuckled. Have your upvote. What I usually do is check for developer engagement in the Org forums. If it's tumbleweed paradise in their subforums, I will not click "Buy". 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
February 21, 20242 yr Normally the motto should be "you get what you pay for". And I have that feeling in DCS, but depending on the 3rd party X-Plane is a bit of a jungle. My hope is that they can somehow bring more order into this. It would be great if there was a distinction between 50+ 100+ 150+ .. USD addons where you expect an adequate level of long term support, documentation and professionalism, and 10-20 USD "why not" addons that can be sold "as is". Ideally Laminar would have a say in the addons in the first category, officially work with those developers but also require certain standards. I don't know if that's what they are planning to do but imo that would be the ideal strategy. At least I find it tiresome after every update to have to check which of my addons still work, if there is a hotfix somewhere, etc.
February 22, 20242 yr The only add-ons that are annoying to update are those without Skunkcrafts Updater support. But a central outlet like the store is generally welcome anyway. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
